I see Anus's mother chose a good name for him!

Another day, another story many posters blame Hi-So for Thailand's persevered troubles. Me thinks that it starts at the bottom! RIP to the dead.
-
Not necessary to comment by the posting you know what you must do - good luck!So they asked the authors of the report to resign ...........for telling the truth!
Thailand hub of morality.
Thailand + morality . . . bit of a misnomer there I think.
EDIT: awaits outraged comments from the "if you don't like Thailand, leave" and the "you're only a guest here" brigades.

Tax is compulsory a licence is a choice you make if to pay or not!!!!!!!!!!!!"The BBC is financed by British taxpayers" NO it's not, It financed by a TV licence fee the reporter should get their facts right.
And the tv license fee is not a tax? Well done, you've passed indoctrination 101. You may now move along to course 102, "VAT" isn't a tax.

Most BBC productions are outsourced!!!BBC should have sent down another film crew to secretly document the expensive partying of the first film crew.

You filing this post under the others that you have posted?"The BBC is financed by British taxpayers" NO it's not, It financed by a TV licence fee the reporter should get their facts right.
Jasus, talk about splitting hairs...
Anyway, I shall file this topic under "don't give a shit"

Clever enough to make me a load of money! Home work? Company pays for any work, inside and outside of office! And no, unless you marry a Buffalo or someone who owns one what happens doesn't effect your life!
Do the Chinese and Russians give a hoot about the ongoing political rifts and other negative points made in your post? I don't think so as it doesn't affect them! When I came here to work (33 years ago) I didn't even know who the Prime Minister was, I didn't even know the real price of Somtam, I didn't even know how many new planes Thai Inter had ordered never mind the then government, I didn't know about insurance (as I had my own) but, I DID know that I was going to work and enjoy myself and here, 33 years later, the work is finished but I'm still having a good time, just like the Chinese and Russian tourists! Westerners might be more accepted by Thailand if they tried doing the same and left Thailand's problems to the Thai's, after all they caused them!WE just can't help it, more more more, Chinese and Russian, and all these have been assured of complete safety with ALL ongoing political rifts will not affect the tourist industry. YAWN
with this, 4 new planes ordered, police crackdown on freedom of speech, possible insurance for tourists, goods priced so high in the last year, DO the Chinese and Russians know about all this and more.
You notice TAT now never talks about other tourists from Europe/USA/Australia, like we didn't exist.
And if you knew nothing when you came as you said, that was clever ???
so you came for work here ?? but hadn't done your homework. If you do live here what happens does affect your life---By the way it was P.M.Yingluck S. who ordered the 4 planes NOT Thai Airways my points are NOT negative they are valid as they affect lives here in general.
Chinese and Russians don't bother me as they keep to themselves and NOT integrate.
My point really was TATs crazy figures spewed out and spouting about Chinese and Russians every time they promote. take a look at the combined figures of all without them, interesting %
Let me tell you something, I have a very good westerner as a friend who complains that is "wife" doesn't love him but, he pays her 5,000 baht a week! Well, good luck to her she understands life and he doesn't, why the hell is he trying to "buy" her? I've never tried to "buy" anyone in my life so, I don't need to get involved in the stupidity of Thai politics. I also don't believe all that you seem to (without any proof) believe. However i do have a great life here and never ever see the crap that most posters report!

The cost of Lao visa's vary dependent on the nationality of the applicant and is based on the amount that country charges a Lao citizen

I thought that I had heard it all before but, now we have posters who (I guess), really believe that military coups against elected governments are legal? Can someone please name me any countries which have A constitution that states that? Oh well, time to go back and watch the cartoon channel again I suppose that way I can get more knowledge. Have a nice day!

Then they have to be replaced by further "novelties", it's called life! It's a novelty to many tourists. Going to Thailand, crossing to Myanmar to some "duty free" market. Novelties wear off.

Haha, totally hilarious, how much I send her, how often and how cheap! Totally nuts!

So, as long as it doesn't involved Phuket it's okay right?Phew! For a minute there I thought this was going to be another Phuket horror story.

Because the posting relates to and the quote made by the Phuket police? Should have thought that was obvious!
Why do you mention Phuket?Do Phuket police always treat murder cases with urgency? "The Kapong Police can be contacted on 076 499104 or 076 449378 Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm."
Edit: my correction, it appears that Phang Nga police made the quote - not too familiar with that area I hope I can be excused? I hope that Phuket police keep up their good work!

Why are Thai's made to look completely stupid by pointing their fingers at people? If you point a finger at them they seem to get annoyed for some reason!

I'll agree with farm use but, to hunt and kill wild animals? The mentally challenged sentiment still applies!

Were these two legged sharks, if not, maybe some of them could be put in the water as well?

Sorry I didn't realize she was Cambodian however the same labour law might apply (I only have experience with Burmese) it might be in your interest to "forget" her paperwork and ask (not her you) at the local labour department if it applies to Cambodians as well? It's a much easier way to get permission to work that applying through the immigration department. Good luck!

I'm also surprised at the number of useless postings by some posters who obviously have no experience of business here in Thailand and (I suspect) anywhere else for that matter one good example, the poster who informed me that theft and salary are not the same thing - after I went to lengths in TWO posts to explain that! I think it's just an excuse for rounding up more postings!
I would also like to add that for 33 I have lived here in Thailand and for many of those years was MD for a large International Company controlling both Thailand and Singapore. I have received training in both Thai culture and labour law. After retiring I stayed on here in Thailand and opened a small business (which I still operate) and in addition have lectured at many well known universities and colleges mainly in business studies. I have now retired from the teaching section and just run my business in what I hope is a professional manner! So, when a poster informs me that theft and salary are not the same thing I wonder which banana boat they arrived on! Have a good day.

Thanks for that Brian, great info smile.png
In regards to internship, from my understanding it actually works little different.
What i understood is the training is up to 7 days and it is ONLY unpaid if staff are dismissed in that period, if not, they are fully paid for those days.
Maid explained that when she worked for Montien Hotel, first week was free, like a trial and if people passed, they were paid for that week, but if dismissed for whatever reason, then no pay.
I have noticed the decline in staff performance and attitudes funny enough since the introduction of new minimum wage, did you experience the same?
All the thieves also appeared since then,i think i have a pretty good system to catch people out and in all cases they were caught in the first few days of work.
Thanks again for the advicewai.gif
Actually you are correct, that is how it usually works in practice - mainly to show the new employee that he/she did a good job and is welcome to the business - however labour law says that in the case of an internship based on training that (with agreement from both parties) the business does not need to pay. A good example are University students who do a short work release (internship), hotels usually provide board and food but not pay cash. My former Company did the same thing with rented accommodation and food but no payment. Bearing in mind that we were assisting the student and the University and after they had finished with us the would return to complete their course at the college. They could apply with us after they graduated but that's another matter!

A Burmese national (with no documents) can work in Thailand with a very simple system:I just want to find out what she needs to do to get the migrant visa/wp.
I know i cant get it for her.
I have found out it can be done for Hotels/restaurants and maid work, but no one it seems to know what has to be done to get it
all other information is not helpfull so unless you have done it or know how, dont bother making coments, please
1) Get someone to offer a job
2) Employer and Burmese go to labour department
3) Pay 3,900 to labour department
4) Take forms (from Labour) to local government hospital
5) Burmese gets health check and registration for one year free medical treatment
6) Take completed form back to labour department
7) They will issue a ID card allowing the Burmese to work for that employer and he/she must remain in the province in which the card was issued
8) Take your new employee to a bar and have a beer - job finished!
PS It falls under the Labour Department not the immigration

I think that it's a great idea and TAT will win out! Thailand has a great deal to offer including low prices. I like the slogan "Happiness You Can Share" and I think that we all need to understand that "Thailand" is not just the type of joint that you can find in Phuket or Pattaya where, the TAT slogan should be "happiness you can drink"
