It's my kids that keep me going, giving me the strength to succeed, in facing the world's daily challenges.
Couldn't think of living in a world without my kids.
Never wanted any and never missed having any.

At 82 I find my needs are simple, so the idea of suddenly becoming extravagant and "living it up" just doesn't appeal. Consequently my Thai partner will inherit all and do with it as she wishes.

My first thoughts are that 68k on a 13 year old car is INCREDIBLY low mileage. Does the wear on the pedals / general interior match that mileage?
Had my Triton 8 years and haven't hit 20K yet.

But that has more to do with laws in the west.
If you marry a much younger girl in the west, there's a high chance she might abuse the system and dump you and take half you crap.
Of course that never happens in Thailand. No, here they take all!

That she is still the same gal that you fell in love with when you meet her and that you'll continue to love and support her no matter what happens on top.
Try being light hearted about it and stroke her ego a little bit.
Already told her that I'll stick with her no matter what.

my wife has a problem in that she plucks white hairs from her head just about every night leaving bald patches and has taken to doing comb/brush overs to hide it, apart from that she has fairly thick hair but says she can "feel" the white hair, dont know if this is a thai thing but she has been doing it for many years, she is in her 50's.
My partner has quite a bit of gray hair, but she sees the hairdresser once a month for colouring.

I know a lot of Thai women suffer from hair loss, especially as they get older. My partner is now 60 and is getting quite thin on top and wonders if anything can be done or just accept the inevitable? I feel really sorry for her as hair loss is probably more traumatic for a woman than a man. This is not funny, so respectful replies please.

If you think Australian cheese is the best you have had then I am lost for words. There may be the odd local producer who can muster something half decent but the majority of it is like melted ceiling tiles. One thing the Aussies are not renowned for is their cheese (not the edible kind anyway).
Perhaps the excellent bread is detracting from the taste of the cheese.
I suppose Aussie wines are no good either?

Got to admit I used to love a big piss up, but now at my advanced age 2 beers is all I can manage without a hangover.

Villa has all the Aussie snacks you need and they deliver anywhere if you shop online. Smith's chips, bbq shapes, vegemite, arnotts biscuits, villis and four and twenty pies etc. etc.
I have found vegemite in some tops and even big c at Ekamai.
Do they have Cherry Ripe's?

I looked in all the DIY stores, that's why I ended up on Lazada. I didn't want to throw my taps out, they are porcelain in the shape of a jumping Dolphin, which fits over a really stout brass internals. I bought 3, but when renovating one, I dropped it...😱
Anyhoo, the other 2 are back to new again..
On another note, my gas hob is of similar age, the sensor that keeps the flame alight failed, could not find replacements, until.....Lazada, yes from China, exactly the same sensor measurements, think were 45 bht each.....😝
So, stripped the whole thing down, painted the internals, refurbished what I could and installed the sensors.....Great........😋
Lazada can be a godsend no doubt. Not sure what I'm going to do with 3 spare kitchen taps though, all with new valves.

Post a photo of your valve, I will find one..........😋
Would you believe Homepro doesn't carry those valves, obviously they want to sell you a whole new tap for 300 baht and up. So I bought another tap, this gives me 3 spares if I can find valves that fit.

I'm going to take it to Homepro tomorrow and try and find an exact match.

As I said you order from an ad where they give measurements, take your one out and compare.......
I haven't seen any ads that give thread length.

They are all similar threads..My taps cost a lot of money 17 years back, porcelain with brass/gunmetal internals, the valves I bought from China are identical, my guess is all manufacturers probably use the same valve. I bought a pair with the extra thread, delivered to my door from China cost around 180 baht...
The two I got from China had a shorter thread and I couldn't get it to catch on the tap threads. I didn't want to force it and strip threads.

Yep looks like HomePro is definitely on the radar.
I'm just surprised the valves are giving out so often. I was of the belief that these ceramic valves were the bee knees vs the old washer type.
At least you don't have to turn the tap a thousand times to get the water out. But they should at least seal properly.
I have my doubts if they are actually ceramic, just looks like white plastic to me.

In general, I have good experience asking the motorcycle taxi riders who are everywhere (at least in my area). They often know where to buy such things in the area.
I don't think this type of valve (cartridge) is familiar to Thais in my area. Most of those types of taps are used in falang kitchens.

The cartridges you show I believe are ceramic. these things dont suffer any muck easily. I doubt American Standard are made to an American standard if you know what I mean, Chrome plating seems to not last long either, often bubbling up , never seen that in the UK
Well, they show no pitting or leaking in 14 years, so the quality has to be better than OK.

No. If you have replaced the whole tap, you have a working tap and two taps for the rubbish bin.
I begrudge throwing something away if it can be fixed cheaply and easily, in this case for a 50 baht valve.

Worth watching for the fight scenes only, the rest of the movie is just filler. Credit to Connor though, thought he played the psycho role pretty well.
