Maybe they are looking at any way possible to try and catch the CBR250s?

It would be a real shame to dumb down a Ninjette with a D-tracker single...

One more from the Moto 3/ 250cc class. There is some talk of people wanting to test Kawasaki D-tracker 250cc single cylinder engines in Kawasaki Ninja frames, will be interesting to see how they work.

One of the highly respected guys involved with the R2M racetrack thinks the Ninja frame with a tuned d-tracker engine may be able to beat a tuned Honda CBR250R , will be interesting to see how it turns out.

why would the fuel injected international Ninja 250R weigh more than the carburated US version? Aren't carburators heavier than fuel injectors? Just wonderin'...
Itcould be like the new Fuel Injected "Classic Range" Triumphs [bonnevilles/Thrux/Scram etc] have the same issue
- they had to enlarge the fuel tank and hide a socking great fuel pump underneath...
They have hidden the fuel injectors in similar looking carb shaped bodies too...
Unnecessary imo, but for some its the looks.
What is the list price on a Triumph Scrambler in Bangkok now?
580,000b
thx

David, when you take a trip, you take TRIP.
Last one was a few years ago - the Hongsa Stuff up when I broke my left shoulder - the head of the humerus in 4 pieces = Ouch.
If you click on the links & reports you will see the dates over the years.
IMHO the best to go is early-mid Feb when the water is low & you can see all the amazing rocks in the river.
Go in the cold season & I think that the fog will kill it so it cant be done in a day = you have to go slower & overnight in Pak Beng.
Go in wet season, the river is high & flooding, dangerous & you wont see much just rain & jungle covered river banks.
You can go as early as November if you get a feel for the cycle of weather patterns. The longer i'm here the more i notice that the weather cycles can give you a window

Is there free WiFi access in the restaurant?
By the way, this is the restaurant's Google Maps place page: http://maps.google.c...IjxWNykKK-bo8IA, where one can also give a rating. It's why I asked about WiFi. I like to rate a place right there and then, when my experience is fresh in my mind.
yep- free superfast wifi

My only gripe with the fish and chips was the batter was a little undercooked, rendering the inside a little gooey. The spaghetti was tasty, but the meatballs were far too dry.
I have had the fish and chips a number of times and the batter was cooked correctly, but I agree about the meatballs. I do have to add that I do not know of even one restauarant in Chiang Mai that does not have this problem which is why I usually order meat sauce instead.
I had the fish and chips yesterday, fish was perfect, i've made sure they check carefully regarding the batter

Luke and Colin battling it out in the supernaked class at the Nakhon Chaisi R2M track last weekend

They're sponsored by IRC Tyres on some of the bikes, are they actually using IRC tyres on them?
The moto 3 / 250cc class arn't allowed to use slick tires, it might be in this class, i'll check.

Tried it out the other day for lunch. Had the fish and chips and a pineapple juice, while the wife had meatball spaghetti and a banana smoothy. My only gripe with the fish and chips was the batter was a little undercooked, rendering the inside a little gooey. The spaghetti was tasty, but the meatballs were far too dry. Total price 450 Baht, or there about.
Not bad, but room for improvement.
thanks for the heads up on the fish batter, the kitchen staff have been informed

Ive never been since the owner stole my email address from a mutual friends mailing list and started spamming me at least twice a week with <deleted> about bike rides round Alaska.
I thought we'd solved that tantrum ? i'll re-check my email list & i thought you had been removed 4 months ago?

David - if you make yourself known to me when you're here and mention Thaivisa , you'll get a 10% discount on beer, that goes to other as well, lets see how well Thaivisa advertising works before we do a banner.
I haven't tried your place yet, but I will.
If you're not there - will your staff know about the 10% and TV?
For those of use who are newcomers.....who are you and how will we recognise you?
The staff will be informed today ask for Som, my wife is the owner.
Magic word is "THAIVISA" for 10% discount on beer

Gave it a try as I said I would and was happily surprised. Had the steak, which was great! I usually never order steak as I am almost always disappointed but after reading their sign promoting how good they were I went for it. Cooked to temp as ordered (almost never happens in Thailand, even when I order 3000 bht steaks in BKK at top end steak houses in Western hotels) nice side dish of lots of veg, even with some charred onion which was so nice. The mash were inedible, a runny yellow mess (the way they cooked everything else so well they should have know better to even serve it) but they happily exchanged for some real good fried potato wedges and then came out to see if everything was ok., a real nice change too. Only other thing was that the sauce was, as I find so often here, more like a Thai soup as in a liquid, not thickened so it adheres to the meat so it will season the meat and just run off, but I know I'm getting picky esp for the fair prices they charge. I will not only tell my friends and but also bring them there! And my kids are going to love the fries! Just get the mash right to please my missus and we might become regulars.
Junglechef
- we've spent all morning researching mash potatoes and luckily had some highly opinionated friends and customers stop by and try the finished product & they all agreed that the mash potatoes were delicious.
In fact if you come and they arn't good we'll replace them with fries and give a 20% discount.

Yeah there were no people in there at the time and i was on my way home when it started pouring down with rain so i stopped on the corner and popped in for some food i will give it another try no problems every restaurant has there off days i understand that .
Thanks for the kind words George, it's always a pleasure to sit and chat with you when you stop by. It seems our chicken parm dish, designed by Nang that came from Duke's has been a huge hit as have several others.

You should give "Flight of the Gibbon" a shot in Chiang Mai, I think it's been voted number 1 tourist attraction
link here (click the english version top right)

Overseas packages seem to be have to picked up at the wat prasing office or the railway office i have found
If it does not have to be PraSingh PO, then you always have the Airport Post office which is open 365 days of the year. Do not have their hours though.

Thanks very much

The post office at Wat Prasing, is it open saturday mornings?
Are any of them?
Quite amusing that information like this here - it's often hard to get the correct answer without actually going there.

We were shut for the Queens Birthday as were many other restaurants, sorry about that. We are open every day normally at least until midnight.
