Aussie Woman Reveals Harrowing Tales from Infamous Thai Prison
theblether replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Getting childish now. The point stands. She's typical of her sort, playing the part of the victim even though she was the lynchpin. You are delusional if you don't know that is the default mode for women of this ilk. "My boyfriend made me do it." Aye, very good. Grow up. -
Beloved Brit found dead in Thailand hotel room
theblether replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
A guy I knew committed suicide in Germany. It cost £4000 to repatriate him in 1991. The family couldn't afford it, my pal paid and the family bumped him for the money. It's now quite common for families to bump undertakers in the UK - which must be on the shortlist of ultimate ways to shame yourself. GoFundMe's such as this are just "no flowers please" in disguise. I do think the number of people uninsured is ridiculous - esp when its so cheap if you have no medical conditions. However, insurance is no use if no one knows where to locate your policy. So - email your insurance policy to three trustees. My sister has a copy, and two people in Thailand have a copy. If you are traveling with a companion, make sure they have a copy of your insurance. If you live in a residence, condo etc its an idea to give a copy to the administration staff ( if they'll accept it ). I keep saying it and it isn't sinking in with some people. Do not assume that you will be compos mentis. You may well be comatose. That happened to a guy I knew in CM and he never recovered before dying. No one could access his insurance or funds. Having insurance is the first good start. But people need to know how to access it on your behalf during a crisis. Make sure you share the policy with people you trust. -

My post is accurate. The societal tragedy is that too many so-called intelligent people can't see the FACTS below their nose. Reputational damage is the primary weapon of women, this is a known psychological fact. I also suggest you google "who reads erotica, men or women?" And you'll get a shock. You're reply only displays your knee-jerk ignorance. You can start with this psychological paper. Read it. Educate yourself before commenting. Educate yourself before embarrassing yourself again. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0022103117304195 -
Aussie Woman Reveals Harrowing Tales from Infamous Thai Prison

I'll tell you something. It will be a cold day in hell when I have sympathy for drug traffickers. I've been to too many funerals, seen far too much horrendous carnage, and I mean horrendous. And yes, I know drug traffickers, guys that have served long sentences and now released. They are the scum of the earth, but on a par are the sanctimonious clowns who lecture us to have understanding. For example, I've seen teenage boys swing blue from trees terrified of being slashed to pieces by dealers. They chose suicide. I can list dozens of examples where I knew the people who paid the price - including high profile incidents that ended up in newspapers. So for all you pleading understanding for drug traffickers, just be quiet, you are an embarrassment to all that is good in this world -

White women can't handle being held accountable for their actions. Far too many think they are above the law - and free from consequence. You can see that in the imbalance in sentencing when they are caught. And there's a bizarre synergy. Women love nothing more than reading about other women behaving badly. Over 80% of published pornography and erotica is written by women. 50 Shades of Grey a prime example. "My time in a female foreign prison" is a prime example of the self pity genre. Still moaning about being caught twenty years later. Pitiful indeed. -
I watched this with my 10.year old granddaughter and it was ridiculous viewing for a so-called family show. The European public have spoken. Too far, too much. That's enough. I genuinely believe too many young gay people won't be happy until they alienate the public. Zero points. Zero self-awareness. Ridiculous.

My little contribution to forum guidelines
theblether replied to george's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You've got to be trolling because no one is this stupid. At any given time there are fifty active threads on this forum and you feel that the mods should be contacting every member, including deliberate flames and trolls, with a personal explanation as to why their comment was deleted? Have you been drinking? -

Because they have the power of foresight and don't want to pollute the forum with low IQ, drunken comments. -
My little contribution to forum guidelines
theblether replied to george's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Back in the day some members contacted the mods to request that their posts to be put on pre-moderation as they knew they were going to hit the beer with inevitable consequences. Pre-moderation is a good tool for destroying trolls, the problem is that it requires too much oversight by the mods. -

I have a genuine suggestion. Limit all members to a maximum of fifty comments per day. There's far too many personal vendettas and they always derail topics. There used to be a list of the highest contributors to the forum on a daily basis and it was the best way to identify the trolls and mentally ill. Except, of course, when I topped the list as clearly I'm a genius. -
Has this "Chemtrail" lunacy on X reached Thailand yet ??
theblether replied to Chivas's topic in General Topics
Fist, that's your own fault as you taught the algo that you are easily baited by the word "chemtrails" and to make it worse, you've just started a topic on matters Thailand to express your weakness and exasperation. Here's a useful tip. Go to settings on X - mute the word "chemtrails" and voila!! you'll get your life back. -
Noisy Neighbors?

Same thing happened to a mate and his wife had a nervous breakdown. Hua Hin has seen an explosion in these type of party houses, it's transforming and not for the better. -
Noisy Neighbors?
theblether replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I know someone who's wife had a nervous breakdown due to a ridiculous, truly appalling, noise issue. A neighbour had rented their villa as a party house and the never-ending stream of tourists partied all night for months. That guy sold up. I concur with the other comments mentioning cheap construction. I've stayed in a couple of condos where front door's closing sounded like an explosion going off. That's before you get to issues such as music, high heels rattling down the corridor etc The rookie mistake is signing up for a condo without sleeping in it for a few nights first. Far too many people view by day only to discover that the noise from the night bars is a nightmare. Always ask if you can rent the condo or a nearby condo first before handing over your deposit. -
Thai Woman Arrested for Extorting British Husband
theblether replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
So the Thai ex-husband and the Puyai Baan stepped in to rescue the child. No doubt the ex-husband listened to his son too. I keep saying, anyone who believes the "Thai man no good" trope needs their head examined. -

I was there for three years then I lost my elder sister to cancer. I have chosen to move closer to my 79yo parents. -
Bring the other half of your wit the next time you comment.

The question was answered immediately - 10 million baht. One of my Thai mates spent three months in a kidney-related coma, eventually dying. The private hospital billed his family almost 4 million baht. So that begs the question for the OP - can he guarantee that he will be in a fit condition to decide on treatment? He'll be far from the first farang found unconscious and transported to a private hospital. Have you thought about that, OP?

That's not what I said. I clearly said maximise travel insurance and if not available, don't bother. However, lie screaming in pain as your broken hip grinds every time you move on your festering bed. Rely upon strangers to wipe your ass as you cry tears of humiliation and agony. No ambulance will collect you as no hospital will take you, You can't fly home as you can't bear the agony of getting out of your bed never mind a twelve hour flight to your home medical service. How about the guy I know who flew to Thailand to celebrate beating cancer - fell off a motorbike, was rendered immobile for six weeks and, goddammit, his cancer came back. Uninsured, broke, we raised his travel money home with a gofundme. Or maybe you'd prefer a rapid onset brain tunour. Faculties destroyed, a gibbering wreck, no airline will certificate you to travel. An issue that a certain coterie of clowns, likely you are one, have never thought about. Denied boarding - sent to the medical centre at Suvarnabhumi and the doctors certify you unfit. How about falling off the back of a motorcycle taxi, unaware that the rider was drunk. Broken back, paralysis in one leg. Oh, how about the guys I know ( more than one ) wandering around with untreated SYPHILLiS - that most ancient of diseases, caught from unprotected sex with a random pin-cushion bar girl. Or would you prefer a run-in with Dengue fever? Maybe just a wee broken ankle, or a head smashed when you slipped in the shower. No, you're right. It's always the wise thing to do. Travel 10,000km with uninsurable conditions and wander around a fundamentally unsafe foreign environment full of weird viruses without medical cover. Do us all a favour and be quiet.

There's no such thing as self-insurance. If you can't get coverage due to existing conditions don't move to Thailand on a permanent basis. Maximise travel insurance if available, and if its not available, forget it. Far too many horror stories.

I don't want to be controversial but - have you ever seen how quickly violence flares in the UK and USA? I can understand some Europeans ( Germans in particular ) not being used to violent flare ups but dear me, try making someone "lose face" in the above mentioned countries and a hospital visit is on the cards. Or maybe the morgue.

British Tourist Warned Over Criticism of Thailand Online

If you ever get a chance, mid - September to start November is a great time to visit, with the Independence Day celebrations, The Procession of the Virgin Mary ( incredible ) Hallow'een, and Day of the Dead including the Day of the Dead ball and parade. Add to that day trips to Tequila ( bar girl heaven ) and several other great locations, it's well worth a visit. -
British Tourist Warned Over Criticism of Thailand Online
theblether replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm not daft. I can see why people settle in Thailand. The demented aspect is growling over their shoulder for years thereafter about their home country. To me it shows a fundamental weakness and unhappiness, akin to the guys still going about ancient divorces. Grow up. Tonight, no doubt to the amusement of some Brits, I'll take my mother to the bingo and will watch a movie with my dad. Tomorrow, grandkids to the cinema, followed by a visit to Edinburgh area to see old pals and we'll have a Bank Holiday two day drinking session. Paris next, followed by Stockholm, then going to plan, Thailand, and the Singapore Grand Prix. I've got a good life, not trapped by anyone or by circumstance. If I were American, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara and San Miguel de Allende would be go to retirement places. San Miguel has a feel of Chiang Mai to it. Guadalajara was exceptional. I'd avoid Rio like the plague but I could easily live in Montevideo, Uruguay. I see Medillin ( Colombia ) locals are turning against "passport bros" with some serious demonstrations taking place. Even the Spanish are taking to the streets to protest tourism. We are in the Overrunning Age. Every decent location is bursting at the seams and with greater numbers there's always greater potential conflict. We see that with Thailand now, a lot of the incidents causing comment here are minor but they cause a meltdown among the giant brigade of pontificating balloons. This thread a prime example - KGB, Stasi, UN charters etc. Get a grip, It's Mad Hatter level absurdity. -
