Prudence dictates. I understand. But there's a part of me that believes in self fulfilling prophesies. I've had some experiences with those . . . Ultimately the only thing of importance is acting in accordance with whatever one believes is best for them. My advice is certainly not a one-size-fits-all solution. On the part of all is well until the dog arrives; I'd already be long gone. There's kinda a trick to that. Ask any cat.

Blast from the Past - 60's, 70's, 80's,90's Music (2023)

A very well done arrangement on that tune. Reminds me of Mary Hopkin's '68 hit single Those Were The Days, a new English lyric put to the Russian romance song Дорогой длинною. My mum loved this song. -

That was an AM radio classic in '67 in the U.S. "L'amour est bleu" (French pronunciation: [lamuʁ ɛ blø]; "Love Is Blue") is a song whose music was composed by André Popp, and whose lyrics were written by Pierre Cour, in 1967. Bryan Blackburn later wrote English-language lyrics for it. First performed in French by Greek singer Vicky Leandros (appearing as Vicky) as the Luxembourgish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967, it has since been recorded by many other musicians, most notably French orchestra leader Paul Mauriat, whose familiar instrumental version (recorded in late 1967) became the first number-one hit by a French lead artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in America. Vicky Leandros' original version is worth a listen, too. -

I bought the 45 RPM when it came out. Too young at the time to do any appropriate drugs to accompany the song, though. -

Well, you hit a trifecta with Townsend, zzaa09. The same tune performed live during the same '86 concert as Rough Boys. -

What a remarkable cover by Townsend of The [English] Beat's Save It For Later which was off of their final '82 studio album Special Beat Service. Must play the most excellent original version, too. -

My current sentiment is "much ado about nothing." It's not by any means the first idiotic scheme cooked up by the Thai government to be reversed rather quickly after they experience the disastrous results. Take a close look at my avatar. The dog is nowhere to be found and the cat understands well. The cat does not react to imaginary situations but does react to very real ones. As an analogy, up to now this is the Thai government posting the "Beware of the dog" sign. I'll deal with it when an actual symbolic dog appears. Colour me stupid or colour me wise.

Well this seems destined to fail. The banking industry is not onboard. Taking bets on how many days before this boondoggle gets tossed in the rubbish bin. First and foremost, the private banking industry is unambiguously unsettled by the announcement. Banks, after all, are gatekeepers to the capital flows that keep an economy robust. Their clients, many of whom have already moved funds out of Thailand, are now confronted with a policy quagmire that could have been avoided with clearer guidelines. https://www.thaienquirer.com/50755/opinion-thailands-ambitious-plan-to-tax-incoming-funds-risks-falling-flat-due-to-lack-of-clarity/

"No doubt foreigners residing in Thailand and making use of govt services and infrastructure should be paying tax in Thailand . . . " The old gov't services and infrastructure fallacy. If all tax money were spent legitimately then they'd be flush with cash. But that's not what happens in the real world. I reject your claim that you were born yesterday.

Climate change: July set to be world's warmest month on record

Just more parroting. None of this information is yours. You receive it and then parrot it. Nothing more. The issue requires thought, Danderman123. It requires constant questioning. But in your world the act of questioning is transformed into engaging in conspiracy theory. To you they are one and the same. And the term conspiracy theory is simply a ruse and a tool to shame people into NOT questioning. And merely accepting what they are told. No thought is required as the thoughts are provided you by others. Fortunately the world is filled with free thinkers and people who question. -

What difference does that make, Danderman123? You're of the same cloth so you should know that you folks will never, ever stop pushing it. If it doesn't get passed in it's current form today it will again be proposed in similar form . . . and again and again and again until they finally succeed. You really need to take the course "How The World Works 101" so you can quit feigning that you don't understand it. -

What a joke of a request. Any data disproving your premises for climate change will only get "debunked" by you and the other climate change believer cohorts. The truth of the matter is, Danderman123, is that your request, and others similar requests, will never be accepted by you. Never as in N-E-V-E-R. So why do even ask when you know in advance you'll just poo-poo it? Due to the obvious truth above I've told you guys before, you're just playing a game here. But do carry on with the utter nonsense. -

Here's some more recent insanity in the push for Green, this time from Germany. German lawmakers pass heating law that divided government German lawmakers in the lower house of parliament, the Bundestag, voted on Friday in favor of a controversial law aimed at phasing out oil and gas heating systems. In principle, newly installed heating systems in old and new buildings should be powered by at least 65% renewable energy. According to a survey commissioned by the liberal newspaper Die Zeit, as many as 70% of Germans reject compulsory regulations on banning heating fired by oil or gas or paying for obligatory replacements of their heating systems. These idiots are sealing their political doom. Take note some of you posters. By and large the people don't like it, are extremely p!ssed, and the amount of anger which is building on a daily basis is eventually not going to be contained. You folks are the spearhead of what is destined to become an awesome explosion of energy (pun intended) as the dam bursts. At the same time, the government's approval ratings are steadily declining, while the popularity of the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) grows further. Lots and lots of money involved as entire new industries are created to service and make possible this Green transformations. The billionaire class is well poised to further enrich themselves greatly as they invest in all of these new industries. Since governments are the ones creating these new policies, and will be enforcing them, the billionaire class is guaranteed a safe investment. For as long as it lasts, in any case, for nothing is forever.
