  1. So went back in Today after getting the KT11 from the district office. No problem I thought. All docs prepared and waiting.....

My number was called all documents checked and passed... Up to the next booth to let the supervisor sign off on the Visa.... BANG!!! Your rental agreement details are insufficient. There are hand written remarks on it that need to me typed needly. Come back tomorrow!!!!

    Jesus all mighty!!

So I have a stamp in my passport with NO Signature..... LOL

  2. I did one a few months ago - not married, but have a Thai national daughter. Need to go to Amphor together with mother and child and necessary documentation; like housebook(s), passport(s), ID-card(s). The child has to confirm you are the father, so the child needs to be of certain age (think 7 years and older). The documentation was issued promptly at the Amphor’s “one stop service” office; a small fee needs to be paid.
Mind you, procedure may vary from office to office, so it’s often a good idea to check first, or have your GF to check for you (the staff may not always speak well enough English).
If the child is minor the procedure may need to be done in court, which sounds like OP have already done and therefore should have the document in questions.
A remark: Some Immigration now also asks for a Google-map printout with house marked and the coordinates.

yeah done all the above. Not risking the google map print out...LOL.

I used the papers with instructions of what to bring giving to me by the immigration and still they added more.

  3. You need to have your parenthood legalized and registered at the Amphoe (district), that is the document that they want. I suppose that must have happened when you got the joint custody, but you may still be missing some formal step.

Check below for some information about the process (again - you may actually have got it done already),

Thanks for that! We did do the whole thing at the District office with the translation of my passport certified by the Minister of Something....

Forgotten that I had to bring it. Thanks!

  4. So today I wanted to extend my Non-O based on Child.

Brought all the documents as stated on the bangkok.immigration website. Obviously only to find out that of course it was not enough!

So I have been asked to further bring:

    - Picture of me and my daughter in front of the house

    - Copy Rental agreement of the house I live in

    - Copy House Book registration of my daughter

    - My daughter in person

    - And a Kor Tor 11 document. I asked them what that was but they could not explain this to me. They said go to the District office...

I am not married to the mom and have shared custody from court.

Does anybody know what that Kor Tor document is?

  5. Yes It seems the comments reinforce my view our marriage is doomed.

Pity really as I'm otherwise happy with my little family. I suppose given what I know now I'm probably living in a one-sided loveless marriage.

What a shame my wife does not see things from an us/together point of view instead of a how-much-I-get/got point of view.

I wonder if her thinking is so entrenched she will never allow herself to live in a normal relationship and is simply unable to accept a relationship based on mutual trust and understanding instead of viewing life as if disaster awaits around every corner and one-self is all that matters.

I would have done what the Thai Husbands do.... Would have said nothing at all but just count the money she stashed away. Than turn of the tab without saying anything...

She will then need to come to you to ask for money but by that time she already realizes that you found out. So for her to stop the loose face concept she will just pack up and go with the stash....

Or.... she will come out with the true story but most likely she will leave....

  6. My daughter was born at Samitivej Hospital on Sukumvit and we took out the package when born for all the vaccines. This was fine. We also purchased health insurance that would cover 50% of all costs incase of hospitalization when ill.

Sure enough the day came that she became ill and had to stay overnight at that same hospital. When asking for the bill upon release we were quoted 7600 Baht. We mentioned we had insurance and they came back with the bill stating 18900 baht with using insurance. Now you don't need to calculate it and clearly see its a rip off using insurance. We just paid the bill without using insurance cover as it was much cheaper that way.

Remarkable on the cash bill e.g. cotton wool was charged at 20 baht, with insurance 240 baht. They just ripping off the insurance companies.

Never been back at that hospital and now very pleased with Bangkok Christian on Silom Road. Honest, great service and the same doctors as they all work free lance anyway.

  7. Got done in BKK. Roadside alcohol control. Got out of the car and got tested pos for drink driving. Got back IN the car to follow the Police officer on his motorbike to the police station. Parked the car up and went in. Got processed, finger printed and put in the cell overnight. YES, not kidding!

Following morning released on bail 20K baht and of to court the next day. Fined 4500 baht, 40 working hours cleaning Klongs and seeing a probation officer once a month for a year! They even gave me my special little Yellow Book.

Oh and the deposit was paid back by cheque at the police station once I showed the courts decision. No problems at all.

You are so lucky. If you seriously wish to view the Dailymail there is an app which is not blocked.

Looks like he had a haircut

  9. If you have dengue you will also feel exhausted from even doing the slightest work.. The red blood cells that carry oxygen are being attacked. This can go on for months.

Had it myself 3 times with the 1st time being the worst ever and the 2nd a lot less. The 3rd I only noticed due to a slight fever and skin rash but the tests revealed again it was Dengue.

The doctors like to monitor you as sometimes you get a very high fever that can lead to a shock.

All of this in Bangkok/ Sathon area.

    You will be all right.

  10. I had enough too after nearly 20 years.... Am going to look at prospects back home the end of next month. Its just such a hassle to get anything done here...

Maybe its that repeating syndrome that haunts me down every 5 years or so but this time I have felt more sure than ever.

Lets see how a month back home will feel like but I won't be looking forward coming back in to Thailand as I normally would do. Well if I do than it might have been the cure to get me started again.
