No PMs, so it looks like there are no visa agents here in Chiang Rai.

I am on a Non O based on retirement, due for renewal May3rd. I need to get proof of income letter from Canada Embassy and have appt there 24th April. Would I qualify for extension if I am unable to travel to Bangkok? I am in Chiang Rai.

Its a known fact that taking loads of Vitamin C boosts your immune system. Big Pharma don't want people knowing this. Do your research.

The renewal of my 1 year extension based on retirement is due 3rd May. I am booked to fly to Bangkok to get my proof of income letter at the Canadian Embassy. With all this hysteria over Covid 19, I want to have alternatives in case I won't be able to travel to Bangkok or if the Embassy closes. I do not want to fly back to Canada. My life is here with my Thai same-sex spouse. We were married in Canada, but that is not recognised here. Could someone please pm me the name of a visa agent here in CR. Thank you.

I live in Mae Lao and love it. Please keep posting VF. My only concern right now is I have to visit BKK in April to get my proof of income letter from my Embassy. With this virus panic, I hope that can still be done. Otherwise I would stay here. I look into Thaivisa to keep up with the latest visa news etc, but really dislike the over abundance of ads. Its become a commercial site now.

Arrived at 9.15am to do my 90 Day, staff outnumbered customers, I never even had to take a ticket.
Stamped, stapled, finished.
I had the same experience on 25th Feb. Hoping to have a good experience doing my retirement extension in May.

Ive had only positive experience from CR IMMG office ......................was there on wednesday last-week at about 2pm, not one customer in the office, just the 6 x immigration personnel, I thought maybe they are not open today, my first words why you not have customer, most had a chuckle and the girl at information says, we wait you ????....................got my Cert of Residency in about 5 min, paid the 300 baht and I was gone with my Certificate ????
I was in today for my 90 day, took all of 2 minutes. While I was there, I asked for the Certificate of Residency form as I will be renewing my driving license soon. I was told they do not have. So did you use the one downloaded from the main site?

90 day was carried out in a deserted office to day, not one other person there when I went in about 10am.
I hung around for about ten minutes talking about my visa renewal coming up and one other customer came in in that time, also a quick 90 day report.
Same experience for me on 6th June. I was in around the same time too.

I get conflicting feedback about Chiangrai. Previously nice to deal with but more recently less so. They also have their own 'requirements'.
I think it depends on the mood of the I/O's. I have been going there just over a year now. I did my first retirement extension with my Embassy letter in April. The office was busy with hordes of Chinese and Koreans. I got the extension, but the I/O made me jump through hoops i.e. making me fill out another TM7 local form which was no different than the one I had already filled, except for the font sizes. My last visit a week ago for my 90 day, the office was empty and that same I/O was very pleasant with me and we had a nice chat while another I/O was doing the report.

For anyone who has filed the TM30 on line, did you get any form of confirmation? My Thai partner did one on line, and after filling out all the details, clicked the REC box and that was it.

My last entry to Thailand was Sep 2012. So I cannot do 90 day on line as I am not in the system. I believe I have to exit and enter again to get into the system.

Went today for 90 day report. Arrived 10:30, place was empty, no customers. Done in 2 minutes, lovely. Had friendly chat with the staff. They don't forget.

Under accommodation name, should it be the owner or the renter? Thanks.

You are basing it just on your own experience. I have been speaking with several people and my comment is not based just on my own experience.

Just a heads up, but I have been noticing that they are being more and more difficult to deal with, except for 90 day reporting. I myself had to jump through hoops earlier this week. Its sad.

I never thought I would ever use an agent. I went to get my first extension of Stay last month and had meticulously prepared and had everything in place including copies of copies and spare everything.
Maybe I caught them on a bad day but if I can avoid having to go through that experience again by paying someone to sort it then I will. For me it was nothing about the time, just the whole unpleasant and condescending experience.
Like I say I’m not for one minute saying it was typical, but enough for me to look for an alternative whatever the cost.
Which office was this?

Did mine in Feb. Had to get some additional forms from the bank, nothing major. Did in an hour. Went back next day, in & out in less than an hour.
This does not make any sense. First if you had an income verification letter, why would you need forms from the bank. Seems you are doing the money in bank method. Also, retirement is done on Mon and Wed only, so how could you have gone back next day?

Brst go to the Imergration office and ask.. They are normally helpful.. Ask the younger captain who wears the glasses. He normakly sits close to the main door.
No its not a good idea to ask them at the office, which is exactly why I posted my question here.

Has anybody recently done a 1 year extension based on retirement using the income verification method at CR Immigration? If so, how was it? I ask because I will be doing mine soon, and last year when I moved here I was told I had to be in CR for 3 months before I could do it. I had to return to Jomtien to do it. Thanks in advance.

Great news. I can get my letter by mail, just heard from the Embassy. Panic over.
