  1. Assuming your TV isn't digital - an analogue, then you will need a digital box and maybe an antenna. Lots of choice on shopee: https://shopee.co.th/search?facet=11045446&keyword=dvb t2&noCorrection=true&order=asc&page=0&sortBy=price
  2. Yes, I should have said extension fee. It is about time for a 'cost-of-living' increase though - my barber has doubled his price to 60 baht over the past 20 years...... I'm more concerned about the 'minimum in the bank' being doubled again......
  3. If I remember correctly, the visa fee went from 500 baht to 1900 baht, so this supposed increase is similar.
  4. How long before cellphone jammers become a 'useful' to carry device?
  5. While the greasy pole of Police Advancement requires access to lots of dosh, therefore pushing the eager into the murky world of easy money, Big Joke is married to a wealthy woman, so has some kind of cover.
  6. Snapshot taken the other day of my 5 years of measuring the temperature in the shade around my house every 15 minutes: The only real trend is the climbing lowest temp during the cool season
  7. But what is antisemitism? Rather than just accept what the ADL says, it would be better to view this independent Israeli documentary maker's work:
  8. Yes, I agree regarding being forced onto the phone, which seems to me a much more 'app friendly' environment giving app access to more information, such as what other apps are loaded and god knows what else. My wife uses SCB just to check balance, as she does with her Bangkok Bank app, payment is not enabled. Luckily I bank with Bangkok Bank and will not use the app. My Linux desktop on Raspberry Pi serves my needs.
  9. I had to remove a Xiaomi app to be able to use SCB - it actually made sense as it was a way to access additional internal settings, so a security risk. Made me think the other banking apps are less security strict.....
  10. A good look under the hood of the antisemitism industry can be seen in this 2009 documentary by an Israeli journalist.
  11. One reason they will be doing this is to identify some of those who haven't declared residing overseas.
  12. The hoses supplied with washing machines are thick and very robust, the potential weakest point being the metal clamp securing the ends. In reality the actual washing machine connection internally is probably the weakest point, it usually being a push-fit rubber grommet on the solenoid valve. The more flexible metal encased toilet squirter pipes are another matter, with a very thin pipe - the thick white versions are much stronger if less flexible.
  13. The main issue with the vast majority of the wifi security cams available now, it seems including your FNKvision, is that you must use their app to interact with them. This means that you are not able to organise what I consider to be the most important function, i.e. recording motion activated images over FTP to a NAS or other device on your LAN. This used to be standard until the mobile app 'ease of use' method of management and the forcing of storage on SD card or in the cloud, with it's associated security issues and costs. I have had to resort to building my own cams with raspberry Pis running motioneye to get localised, minimal data storage and full control over image manipulation.
  14. Did it in November. It seems they have removed the Thai family extension - they have increased the expected timescales to 90 minutes each too.
  15. I really enjoyed the award winning British comedy series Detectorists https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4082744/ that I discovered last year. I also found a torrent of the complete box set of Rumpole of the Bailey - they don't make 'em like that any more......
  16. Bought this: https://shopee.co.th/FBS-เครื่องตัดแต่งพุ่มไม้-เลื่อยตัดแต่งพุ่ม-3880W-20นิ้วใบมีดสองคม-ไร้สาย-เครื่องตัดแต่งกิ่งไม้-เครื่องมื-i.718998900.22848057876 the 299VF with 2 batteries 3 months ago and no complaints so far. Light enough for the wife to fling around but powerful enough to trim newish mango tree growth.
  17. They don't have to catch the arsonists - just apply a massive fine to the actual land owner, with a repeat resulting in jail time.
  18. We went through this in November - luckily one of the 'tent' IOs was not serving, so we gave docs to him saying we have an appointment, he checked then gave a ticket so we could be accepted inside.
  19. To stop neutral floating up. I recently upgraded a house, adding a consumer unit and earth. When I connected the earth rod there was a sizeable spark. Ideally you need to measure between the ground bar and the 2 input cables to know for sure which is live. If you don't have a test meter, a bulb in socket with wires to connect would tell you.
  20. I thought one of the 2 black left-most on the ground bar went to the neutral bar, but you say that isn't the case. There should be a connection, but as most older houses here don't even have a ground to tie the neutral to, it's not surprising.
  21. The one going outside will be to the grounding rod, which again is correct.
  22. The ground bar is at the top. Yes. I see now that the ground bar is connected to the neutral bar, which is correct. The labeling behind the C63 main breaker is actually incorrect.
  23. Actually, in Thailand it is correct, as neutral is 'grid-tied' to ground. If you buy a consumer box these days the neutral and ground bars are connected. The above has the ground bar connected direct to the neutral input, which is not normal though.
  24. Well my extension expired towards the end of November and, as I had just returned from overseas at the end of August, did an online 90 day report so that I had a TM47 in my passport - it only lasted for 2 weeks, to align with my extension expiry. Upon extending, the IO told me to do an online 90 day report, which lasted the 5 weeks until my 'under consideration' date expired.
