  1. I seem to remember reading about and finding a link to a visa run service that departs from the Ekkamai area fairly close to the bus station. However, I searched the forum and couldn't find it.

Any leads on the company or perhaps one that might leave from the On Nut area? I prefer the vans, but realize a big bus might be my only option from those locations.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Is anyone aware of any legitimate courier services available here? A production company I am working with on some t.v. films needs to send some Masters over to Los Angeles either on the 19th or 20th. They're in such a pickle, I posted a free ticket offer in the classifieds, but that really is a poor option as some professional service is much preferred.

    Thanks,

    Dr. B.

  3. I would like to add a question to this thread if you don't mind.

Regarding the Multiple entry 'O' and the exiting/entering of country every 90 days. I keep getting told by somel people that this activity falls into the same category as the border runners they are wanting to catch. If that is true, and that is if only, then it would mean two 90-day stays followed by a 90-day expulsion/vacation from Thailand.

Is there any accuracy to this as it relates to the Non-Imm 'O' and multiple entry versions of it?

So many confusing issues regarding these new rules. :o

    Thanks,

  5. The best response to those irritating phone calls the caddies get is to tell her, after she receives or makes the first call...."One more call and NO TIP today."

That normally gets the unit turned off for me.

You mean you actually tip your caddie? :o

  6. Hi: Trying to get a bit of information related to opening a VoIP in Thailand, whether by a Thai or foreign company.

The most obvious version of VoIP is of course Skype, which is marketed I guess 99% over the internet. However, there are also a lot of companies selling cards, and using land line DSN style service to allow people access over 'regular' phones (land-line or mobile) to access these services and still call international at VoIP rates, though paying local access charges.

Is TOT allowing this type of business to set up in Thailand? Example being, you could sign up here, say at a kiosk and even buy VoIP time cards, much like buying your top-up cards from AIS or DTAC. Just curious. Trying to build some knowledge for future opportunities.

    Thanks

  7. Hey,

In july im coming back to Thailand by plane together with my Thai girlfriend.

Because she is a tourist in Europe she can take advantage of the fact from tax free shopping here and take it to Thailand when we go back.

Is there anybody here who knows if there is a limit about bringing in Tax free goods from Europe because i cannot seem to find anything about it ? :o

    Thx in advance,

    Scottbiker

Of course there are limits. Varies by product codes. But in the first place, you'd have to get stopped for it to be an issue. On that one, depends on how lucky you feel. Me, more then 40 trips in and out though international airport in five years.

Stopped once. Funniest part was, it was when I had a carry-on only, so not even really any room to have stashed anything above the limit.

  8. This is perhaps the wrong forum, so please move as your desire, as I wasn't sure where it should go.

Anyone checking in coming from Los Angeles soon w/ only one bag and want to shave $100 off their ticket price. I've got a box with a computer needs to come from Los Angeles and would pay $100 or baht equivalent, actually a bonus, an even 4,000 baht to get it here.

I can get inside Customs to handle any issues there, but there shouldn't be any problems anyway.

Realize this is a long shot, but wanted to ask anyway. PM me with any responses please.

    Thanks,

    Dr. B

  9. Hi:

I have always heard that is a strange rule regarding the renewal of a driver's license that says you cannot (or perhaps I should say, you should not) try to renew it before it expires, rather wait until afterwards.

If this is the case, then what rule is there about how long after it expires? Is there like a 5-day grace period or some such quaint issue t be aware of before it completely goes bugger up and you are back to sqaure one? Any special thing to do besides take in your license and politely wait for the new one?

    Thanks for any information.

    Dr. B
