While they are going after Yingluck, is there any chance we can see the perjury laws returning to pre-Yingluck standard? By that I mean the perjury laws should be reintroduced to stop people lying their asses off in court. The laws were scrapped when Yingluck was forced to tell a series of porkie pies in court.
What would those lies be? How would you know they are lies? You have personal experience with Yingluck and know for a fact they are lies?
Just want the truth here.
English TAN Network says
"SEC: Yingluck Did Not Violate Securities Law Despite Committing Perjury
UPDATE : 13 June 2011
The Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, has announced that, despite committing perjury while testifying during her brother's assets concealment case, Yingluck Shinawatra did not violate the 1992 Securities and Stock Exchange Law"

So now he knows. It's not all cigars, fine cognac, chauffeur driver Rollers and illicit knee tremblers from the secretaries. There is a responsibility that goes with the premiership, and as a non elected puppet that is due a fall for his complicity in the rice scam, he will likely last as long as a horse race(and I'm not thinking of the grand national here).

With the benefit of hindsight, the army ought to have had a proper coup as soon as it was obvious that the PM had hobbled the judges during his asset hiding case after he first won power. He had no place continuing in a public capacity after that disgraceful event. The dozen or so years of chaos that his over-riding the justice system gave us was unfortunately quite an obvious result.
For this impending coup, they need to have a clear cut goal. That is to remove any trace of Shin DNA from any position of authority, for all time. I know how I would do that.
With the benefit of hindsight, the army should have rounded up the yellow shirts back in 2006, when they began to obstruct democracy. The government at the time had led strong economic growth, repayment of public debt, reduction in the military budget and perhaps most importantly an improvement in income equality. The potential growth lost in the past 8 years through the actions of a few greedy and jealous individuals has robbed the Thai people of their peace and prosperity. The facade of reforms and transparency is simply a ploy to maneuver their way back into power. They as well as any clear-headed individual knows that reforms will take decades, not months.
It's like life of Brian isn't it.
So apart from all the above fiscal brilliance (in Thai terms is was), getting the airport open, health care, OTOP, shutting the nude bars down (really got to the sexpats with that one), Social order policy, drugs suppression (yes it did work), hounding the loan sharks in Bangkok, village loans etc.
What else did they do for us.
What did the Dems ever do, Wring their hands and whine for a coup, then another, then another, then a new Constitution to rid them (Dems) of political opposition.
Why stop there? You should credit Thaksin with causing the global economic boom of the last decade.
If you ever come to Thailand you will be in for a shock. Girly bars, they are still here, nothing changed. Drugs? Well after the execution of over 3,000 innocents including children, there are still drugs here. Quantity same as before Thaksins purge but the prices went up. Hardly an improvement now is it? Social order policy?? Do you mean teaching an entire population that "corruption is normal"? You have lost me with that claim.

Your fairytale jars with reality. You probably were not here at the time, but the PTP deputy house speaker was found to have made huge cash transfers from a bank inside parliament to the red shirt bomber that blew himself and half of his apartment block to smithereens. The conclusion is very simple, we all know who is doing the bombing at the PDRC rally, and no, it's not the PDRC bombing themselves!
Yes because, a traceable transaction from within the parliament house to a bomber to attack an unpopular movement would have been exactly what the PTP would have done.
Agreed, it really defines arrogance doesn't it. After his boss bought a tame police force and intimidated the heck out of the judiciary, he really thought nobody would dare to feel his collar. He was wrong, although having said that in the years since his transactions came to light nothing has happened to him at all.

If Thaksin is not careful he might well drive the protesters to seek shelter from nightly terrorism at the airport, like he did a few years ago(much to the faux outrage of the forum frothers). He doesn't seem to have a very good memory.

I have always admired champagne socialists, it takes a lot of pluck to go against everything that you are and stand for, while those that know you and anybody with a sense for logic thinks you to be a fool.
Out there on the conspiracy theory fringes of reality, this so called reporter cum red-activist is actually fomenting hatred by giving such an illogical and one sided version of events. By running and telling to teacher, he will not change many minds over to his warped view. Growing up and taking a moderate stance would be best for this rebel rouser before he goes getting himself into real trouble.

Do the seppos realize how offensive their hypocritical twaddle is? Their military has torn the world apart, primarily for selfish reasons, and they have the gall to advise a sovereign nation on the opposite side of the world to show restraint?

What's a 29 year old man doing marrying a 17 year old!!
I've long said that when an operation Yewtree gets underway in Thailand it will be a real game changer.

The Shinawats, which rose to power through nepotism, intimidation, and monopolistic practises, are clearly having trouble with the idea of capitalism. It's a newfangled concept which relies on the basic principles of demand and supply to achieve a viable price point, as opposed to communism whereby the government sets the price point and allocates the distribution of product.
Prices are rising directly because of the hyper-inflationary populist policies. I warned them at the time. They should pay better attention to TVF.

Somewhat ironic in light of the witch-hunt she carried out when khun Abhisit took a family holiday after he concluded his premiership.

Peacefully bombing their opponents into terror and submission, with the goal of bringing back a fraudulent dictator, in the name of democracy. I love the red shirts!

This Pichit, it's not the same bloke that tried to bribe the judges in Thaksins Ratchadapisek land case with a pastry box stuffed with 2 million baht is it?? And then by way of excuse claimed he grabbed the "wrong box" from the car? LOL, credibility anyone?

Continuing with the amart rouge's theme of picking on those unable to defend themselves. The assault by machine gun clad goons on the elderly couples home. Bomb attacks against women and children at Trat. Hospital invasion. Sacking and burning of downtown Bkk. A judgement awaits them, and it's severity will have them begging for the testicle clamps.

I have no problem with this Surapong pretending to be deputy PM, but for the sake of everyone he should be carrying out his fantasies from the comfort of a padded cell, and wearing a straight jacket. Lord know the loony bins are full of exactly this type of Walter Mitty. Playing out his delusions on the world stage is an excruciating embarrassment to this once proud sovereign nation.
Thailand, after the last remnants of the Shinawatra elite have been dealt with, will bear scars reminiscent of Moruroa atoll post the French military. Recovery time will hopefully be shorter.

Good to see the Thai news agencies have given up pretending that this is actually a viable "scheme" and are instead calling it more accurately the rice "scam".

At least he will have the time to look for the driver of the van carrying priceless artifacts that lost all 4 wheels in front of his house. If he's lucky the amulet owner may give him a reward.

Impeach her? She's gone already.
She is gone, but still needs to be punished. I'm guessing she will get a fine of around 600 billion(or however much it is found that her clan have stolen from the Thai people) and with any luck a lengthy prison sentence to deter any future politician from emptying the state's coffers to enrich their family in such an arrogant and blatant manner. Fair is fair.

I would not want to be Dr.Thaksin today. His blower will be ringing off the hook. Your bluddy amnesty and recompensation bill. Your 4am timing strategy. Your blooming invisible water pumps. You made me hire there morons. You made me do this bla bla bla. Do they even sell valium over in Dubai?
Just think, if it wasn't for his overwhelming greed and arrogance, he would still be the de facto PM. He'll be sorry, but only when it hits his wallet.

Good choice. He did a stellar job with the rice scheme. Let's see if he can bring his special brand of mojo to the prime ministers seat. A true poster boy for transparency, accountability, and decent moral conduct. Encore PTP!

UNLAWFUL TRANSFER
Charter Court dismisses Yingluck and nine cabinet members from office
The Nation
File photo : Yingluck
BANGKOK: -- The Constitutional Court on Wednesday dismissed caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra from office, ruling that she abused her power by transferring National Security Council Thawil Pliensri.
The nine Cabinet members involved in the unlawful transfer of Thawil were stripped of their positions. "The Prime Minister's status has ended, Yingluck can no longer stay in her position acting as caretaker prime minister," a judge said in a live televised ruling.
The remainder of the cabinet can continue working, the judge said. The judge said Yingluck violated the charter on the transfer of Thawil from position of National Security Council.
The transfer of Thawil Pliensri from the post of National Security Council chief was unlawful, unconstitutional and unethical.
Yingluck Shinawatra had a hidden agenda in ordering the transfer and also intended to benefit a relative. The court thus ruled that the transfer was prohibited by the law as it was unethical and a conflict of interest.
The Court ruled that only Yingluck and nine other Cabinet members who took part in Thawil's transfer must be removed from the Cabinet.
The others, who were not members of the Yingluck Cabinet that approved Thawil’s transfer, can remain in office as caretaker Cabinet members. The court also ruled that the caretaker Cabinet can continue its duties until the new Cabinet takes office.
The Constitutional Court ruled that it has no mandate to order the appointment of a new prime minister within seven days as requested by the complainant.
The request to the court to order the appointment of a new was made by Senator Paibul Nititawan during the trial on Tuesday. Paibul filed the abuse of power suit against Yingluck.

This gets my hackles up. Poor woman has had a really awful day(assuming she has any awareness whatsover of her days as political puppet), and what happens to her? Some bugger has only gone and started chopping onions right next to her. Salt in wounds...

PCAD guards beat up redshirt over traffic complaints

Everything is on standby for a day or two. Thaksin is in Singapore trying to make a deal to exonerate himself and Yingluck from any criminal responsibility, and he wants a large cash payment, in return for stopping his clan holding Thailand hostage. He is happy to let the reds that are in prison for carrying out his orders to remain in prison. Thanks to Michael Yon, a serious observer that is reporting the realpolitik reality of the situation.
