  1. Cheers Wannteach, Ken,

I have told him to get in contact with Trinty ASAP and hopefully he should get it sent over after christmas. It takes about 30-45 days to process the WP i believe so i take it if he gets his Cert sorted before his NON B visa expires (feb 20) he should be ok as long as he gets all the documents in before then.

    Cheers

    guys

  2. Ken can probably advise on these WP-related issues more, but I'd say either they're being fussy or there's some other reason they can't give a WP that they're not being honest about. Perhaps they've already used their quota for their company size and capital (there *is* a quota). Perhaps they haven't been paying their "dues" to the immigration police or MOE agent lately. Perhaps they've decided they want to hire your guy but only for a few months until someone else comes back, so they don't want to officially register him. It could be any of these things, or simple incompetence. No way to find out, either.

You don't typically have much choice over these things- take it or leave it. If he's desperate, he'll have to take it. If not, I'd suggest hoofing it to the next place. Good luck.

    "Steven"

    Thanks wanna teach,

Its not the school who are refusing him, its the MOE or wherever they process the WP. They can get him the WP if he gets a letter from Brit Embassy or gets Trinity to send him a new Cert but its a waste of time and money really me thinks.

If he would have just given his Degree in, they probally would have processed it. He thought giving the Cert as well would make it run smoothly. He has a year contract and the school are one of the best Lang Schools to work for ( another friend works for them) so i think its just the MOE being over fussyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

    ( :o TIT i suppose)

    Cheers

  3. Can anybody tell me what is required to get a work permit in a Lang School?

Mate has a degree (with transcripts) and a Trinity Cert. The school went with his Quals but they refused him the WP cos the degree has Francis( same as passport) written on it and the Cert has Frank written on it. I know he can go to Embassy and get a letter to sort this out but i am just wondering, have they changed the process over the last few months.

I know if you work in an International School you need Degree plus teaching Cert and + whatever but i always thought to work in a Lang School you only needed the degree to get the WP processed.

It seems to me they are just being fussy.

Can anyone shed any light on this.

    Cheers

  4. QUOTE LOS Nick

Finally after speaking with quite a few people down there I spoke to someone who seemed to know a bit about this visa.He told me I had to be the original owner and when I tried to explain to him about my purchase from a thai which I had proof in my hand to show him he still said, have to be original owner.

    QUOTE SUNBELT

Just depend on the officer and his interpretation. We have clients that have gotten it when they bought from a third party that was Thai.

    Sunbelt,

If i am reading the above thread correctly does it mean that if my condo had 2 previous Thai owners before me is it not possible to obtain the investment visa or as you quoted, it depends on the officer in charge.

    Sunbelt,

I take it when you obtained the visa for your cilents the immigration office you got it from was Bangkok

    Cheers

    JJP

  5. Jjp; until Sunbelt answers, I have previously seen Sunbelt confirm that same is possible. In fact if one only holds a 2M Baht condo the rules even allow for another 1M Baht(not to be touched) in a bank account only to obtain the extension. Cheers!

    Cheers Firefan,

Does the money ( 1 million) still have to be deposited from your home country (like condo money) or is it possible to have it in Thai bank account + condo to obtain the visa.

    Cheers

    JJP

  6. Sorry Rinsi, jumping in on your thread.

    Quote Sunbelt Asia

Work permit does not require any Thai employees. A extension of stay based on business does. My point was if you plan on applying for a extension of stay based on business, you should keep this in mind.

Does this mean if i base my extension of stay on my Thai sponse visa (which i am currently doing) do i just add the work permit and then does this mean i dont need any Thai employees to form the business.

    Quote sunbelt Asia

Limited Partnership is in my opinion. A very bad formation for a foreigner.

He cannot be the Managing Director. He cannot be involve in the day to day to day managing of the business without having the same unlimited liability as the Managing Director. He cannot be on the bank account. Any day he can be told " his services are no longer needed. He has no control.

Also applying for a work permit, the registered capital is 100% cash and must be showed unlike a limited company.

I take it PLC is the way to go then.

    Thanks again

    JJP

  7. Sun belt

It can be the capitalization if you transfer it to the corporation. On the other hand no one will look at your bank account unless you form a limited partnership. You can pay cash (250,000 Baht) and the rest can be equipment, inventory, condo or even a directors loan.

What the differences with a limited patnership and the other patnerships i could open a business?

I wouldn't have a problem putting the name of the company above the door and would also be able to create a physical workplace.
Many obstacles have to be overcome...

The Condo association by-laws in most cases disallows businesses to be located in the building as their is increase wear and tear on the facilities with the additional traffic.

In my condo there are lots of little businesses oparating this way and they dont have any problems. I have spoken to a women on the condo commitee and she seems to think no problem as other Thai/ Falangs do it.

The next obstacle lies in the Labor Department in viewing the pictures of your office. If they are convinced it is your office and not just a apartment.

Point taken but i am sure if you create a work area this will not be a problem, would it? Can i not conbine the two?

If you apply for an extension of stay based on business. Then you must have 4 Thai employees working as well. Immigration will want to see a work space for them.

    Ouote Indo Siam

You may obtain that work permit without having any Thai employees

    www.lawyer.th.com

  8. You need register only 1,000,000 baht capitalization - this is enough to sponsor a work permit for a foreigner married to a Thai.

    Indo Siam and Sunbelt Asia

Can a falang owned condo be used as the capitalization to start a buisness or does it have to be cash.

I am also married to a Thai and have a Thai spouse '0' visa.

The reason why i am asking i have started exporting bits and bobs and it seems to be taking off. The next step would be to open a company but i dont have the 1,000,000 in cash as required.

I wouldn't have a problem putting the name of the company above the door and would also be able to create a physical workplace.

    Thanks for your time

  9. Cheers Guys,

I am very tempted to get it. I am only going for the 2.3 XLS version cos thats as far as my budget will carry me :o

Also whats it like on the old juice. I have been told it likes to drink alot.

    Is this true?

Also what about parts. Are they easy to acquire/expensive to buy etc?

I like the other ones like the Honda CRV and the Nissan X trail but the 0 percent is swinging it for me.

The downside is the resale if i decide to sell in a few years and this is making me have second thoughts.

Bloody hel_l I have a headache looking at all the cars in the showrooms.

Who said buying a car was fun.

I want to be sure this time cos i have just got my down payment back from a chevy optra which has given me the same problem from when i first bought it 10 months ago. I must be one of only a few people who has manged to get my 100,000 down back from a car company and they also took the full finance back as well. I was lucky me thinks. I gave them 20 odd chances to fix it but when they gave it back the same problem reoccured. Problems with the petrol tank.

    terdsak_12

Have you had any offers on yours and what about 2nd hand car dealers. What prices did they offer ? Sorry for being nosey mate.

    Thanks again

    JJP

  10. Can anybody give me the low down on the ford escape?

At the moment Ford have a 0 percent option to buy.

Anyone out there who has one who can let me know how it runs and let me know of any problems with this model.

I know Ford is not as big here as in Europe and the value might not be as good as a Toyota if i resale in the future but i like the style and the size is right.

    Cheers

  11. Hi raro,

I want to send some dance costumes (not copies) to the UK by FED EX. It should weigh between 10 = 15 kgs. I spoke to a woman on the phone from FED EX and she told me i need some kind of cerification to send it, like an export licence I persume. She said its no problem from this side but in Europe they have some kind of rule for this. Can you shed some light on this please?

I am not in this business and I have a friend who owns a dance company in the UK and she wants me to send costumes over now and again.

PS I also spoke to DHL also and they never mentioned this.

    Cheers for your help

  12. Morning Bredbury Blue, note the spelling please :D

Quote you;Actually, we don’t say “no reds come from M/cr” what we do say is that “there are more City supporters in M/cr than Reds” and all Blues firmly believe it

Dont agree mate . There was a survey conducted in the Manchester evening news last year in the Manchester area to see how many blues and how many reds lived in Manchester . Well sorry to disappoint you but there was more reds mate. I will try to find it and post it on here.

    Quote you

United do not have a divine right to success (you weren’t that clever before Busby came along in the 50’s) and (2) United have not always been the cock of Manchester – you have had the bragging rights in the period that you’ve been watching them but I dare say that if you’d seen your lot from 1970 to 76 including the relegation season your comments should be a tad more reserved

Where in my posts have I said we have a divine right to win everything. Great teams have to graft and work hard. It doesn't not come on a plate

Agreed, I can't really comment on that and I know city was good with Franny Lee, Doyle, Boyle and Summerbe. Although i do remember Tommy Docs team in 76-77 which had a good attaking team with Steve Coppell and Gordon Hill on the wing.

    Quote you

no, did we get +30,000 average over the season we were in the third tier and were in the top 10 average nationwide that season, yes, do we not get the third highest average crowd currently which is in +40,000 in a city which hosts the club with highest average, yes. Not too bad.

I know city have a good following and are loyal and have good attendences but it just gets me when people say Utd have the support now because of the success we have enjoyed over the last years. Like i said in a earlier post, in the seventies and eighties when we was crap,we was the best supported club in the UK.

    Quote you,

Personally, I don’t think any ManU supporter should be disrespecting Lord Red nose for how he’s turned your club around

Agree totally and any who do are ######s and have a short memory.

    Quote you;

Its looking like his time is up, but really who looks like capably replacing him – there aren’t too many Wengers and Morinho’s out there – he’s going to be very hard to replace and that my friend has got to be your biggest problem.

Maybe his time is up and we need someone with fresh ideas but if he is here to stay for a few more years, get behind the fella instead of slagging him. Also its ironic that when Fergie said he was going to retire a few years back Mr. Morhino was up and coming and was avavible. Oh the twist of fate eh. It could have been him at Utd now and not Chelsea. I am not turning bitter honest :D

    Quote you

To finish, i don’t have a great deal of problem with Mancunian Reds.

Maybe we should meet up for the derby in Jan.

    Quote you

I suppose you got a buzz from that then. : :o . Did your face look like this at the time.

Did you enjoy the black and white VDO

  13. Hello again Bradbury Blue

    Quote you:

May I ask what is your connection to ManU? You from M’cr or your family from there or an older family member supports them? I’m interested to know, no offense is intended.

    Firstly,

I am from M/cr, Blackley, which is north Manc. I have lived in Bangkok for 9 years so i am an exciled Manc. And all the bullshit that no reds come from Manchester, are you havin a laugh mate. You know as well as i do that is <deleted>. City just use it because they are bitter.

I have followed Utd not Man u home and away and in europe since 77. My first match was in 78 v Aston Villa at OT. I still have my season ticket alongside my dad in the east stand (formily known as K stand) which my friend uses cos for the above reason i cant attend. My swansong was when Eric scored at wembley v Lonnypool in the F.A cup final 96. I have been to wembley about 15 times with my first visit in 83 v Loonypool in the milk cup final which they won 2-1 with Norman Whiteside scoring and Ronnie Whelan scoring the winner in extra time. I was even at Maine Road when you hammered us at Maine Road 5-1 in 89 and if i rembember rightly David Oldfield scored a couple and Hughsie scored our goal. I was in Rotterdam in 91 when we beat Barc 2.1 with Hughsie scoring one cant remember the other goalscorer cos i was too stoned and pissed to remember. :D

I could go on and on on but i wont ho ho.

So as you can see i am well quailfied to have my say on Utd.

    quote you

    being the armchair supporters favourite

Hmmm even when Lonnypool was winning everything we had the highest average attendence. Even in Tommy docs era which i just missed we would take thousands to aways and OT was packed. Granted, gloryhunters have jumped on the bandwagon over the last 10 years. Every successful club gets them. Maybe City dont cos you never win anything. :D

    Quote you;

Firstly, after years of decline since ’76 / ’77, we’ve been moving in the right direction beginning with Joe Royle’s first full season, we’ve stabilized and crept up the Premier season on season,

Right direction, Correct me if i am wrong but you have been up and down like a yo yo for the past 20 years and to cap it all off i think you have only won the Zenith Data cup in that time.(30 years mate)

    quote you

City were the top dogs in M/cr.

Agreed, so me dad told me anyhow or was it just a dream. :o

As for mr red nose, Well having seen the shit i have watched before Fergie i cannot bring myself to slag him cos of the magic moments(so many its hard to remember them all) he has given me. I am not deluded but maybe a sense of loyalty towards him.

Declie emmm, probally so but i would rather be in our decline and have a chance of winning somthing than be in your shoes.

    Quote you:

I doubt as all City supporters do, football is cyclical and its very highly unlikely that you won’t have a slump and we won’t have our moment in the sun again

    Your right there

    quote you:

It’s only in recent years that I’ve allowed my self to wear the colour red

How sad. I used to do that in primary school but i am a little old for that now as are you, me thinks.

    Anyhow stop picking on me

Remember my dad is bigger than your dad :D

  14. Quote Lampard10,

Excuse me please. When Arsenal did the double, wern't they labelled the most boring team to have played in Englands top division. Or is that a term reserved for winners by the also-rans?

On the defensive again mate. It seems to me you are not enjoying being the top team. :D

If you ask any neutral football fan if Chelsea play more attractive football than both Utd and Arsenal when they were at their best and i think you would get your answer. Hand on heart you know its true.

Like i said in earlier threads Chelsea are a good team and i dont go along with they are not attractive to watch. Aye but you shouldn't care right because you are sitting pretty at the top.

Away fans always used to sing who the F... are Man Utd. Now we have sung it back for years at them and it leaves them slightly baffled.

Likewise, Arsenal fans sang boring boring Aresnal cos they were labelled boring Arsenal.

Now then cos Chelsea have only been at the top for a couple of seasons maybe the fans need to digest it all first. You should be a light hearted about it cos you might have to wait another 50 years for the success you are enjoying at the moment.

    Chelsea Champions :o

  15. Mr Bojangles,

Have you read my posts correctly?

    quote Mrbojangles:

he is a first rate W4nker. He ruined Alfie Haarlands career at City,

He never ruined Haarlands City career because he retired with problems with his other leg and not the same leg from Keane's tackle. As i said in an earlier thread.

    Read cafefully.

quote JJP Yes it was a very bad tackle and he was out of order.

Agreed it was a very bad challange, so whats your point?

    Quote; Brad blue;

Got to agree with you there. Keane's tackle on Haaland was disgraceful. If he actually admitted that he purposely went out to injure him then I'm surprised charges were never pressed.

Agreed also but how many tackles have we seen over the years like that. Yes, he did admit but how many players have gone on the pitch with the same intent

    and not admitted it

Dont tell me about Joey Barton please,

    When in glass houses mate.

    quote: Mr Bojangles

The guy is just a thug,

Maybe we should try and buy the little scouse runt to replace Keane. One thug for another, . :o

    JJP

  16. Quote Brad Blue.

Define as good as? Do you mean they don’t play as attractive football as Arsenal a season or so back? Certainly the results are proof that Chelsea are as good as any team in recent seasons

Maybe the word attractive is a good word to use and yes chelsea are not as attractive(noticed you only used Arsenal there : :o ) to watch they but are still getting the results(sigh of champions).

Also Chelsea have to do it for at least 4 seasons to be as good as Utd or Arsenal were. Utd and Aresenal did it for a lot longer.

    Quote brad blue.

The backbone of your team of Giggs, scholes, Nevs, Keane, Becks, Butts, etc have either moved on or are past their best (with the possible exception of Scholes, though he doesn’t look happy). Granted you’ve got some decent players but they don’t have the camaraderie of your old boys.

Agreed, but we have still some decent players who could get it together and push Chelsea a little harder. We are not on the decline that much mate.

    Quote: Brad Blue,

City have been creeping up on you over the past seasons and when Fergie leaves and chaos rules, our Stuey will steer our boys above you.

    Is that a joke. :D

    JJP

  17. he is a first rate W4nker,

    now now Mr. Bojangles.

Best midfielder the premiership has seen bar none. Yeah off his head at times but, oh every fan of other teams would have loved to have him in their team. Thats why great players get slagged off because they are greattttttttttttttttttttt.

He ruined Alfie Haarlands career at City, i wish some big blokes would break his legs.

Get your facts right. Yes it was a very bad tackle and he was out of order but Haarland retired not because of Keane's tackle. It was his other leg he had problems with and thats why he retired.

    So bitter blue strikes again.

It would be nice to hear from some city fans who are not so bitter.

    JJP

  18. I didnt say we had the right to win everything. A team has to work hard and play well to win things.(something you wont understand 30 years and counting) Chelsea are not as good as us in 99 or arsenal a few seasons back but they graft for each other and are becoming a very good team. I for one will not slag them because they have raised the bar and its up to the other teams to take it on the chin and take up the challenge. Teams are capable of beating them . it is frustrating that we're not doing it, but it ain't chelsea's fault.

Mr. Mourino has created a winning mentility and he has a chip on his shoulder, which i like but there again haven't all the great managers had that , Ferguson included.

I would never become bitter cos i have seen Utd when Sexton was there and big Ron, so you see, as i said to Lampard10 in an earlier thread,

Sit back, enjoy the ride cos its more fun winning than losing.

I am also saying to him is relax and let everyone call his team but at the end of the day if your team is winning who gives a toss what other fans think.

    JJP

As for the thread topic, well watch the other leagues and you will see that the Premier league is still the business

  19. Lampard10,

Remind me again who are playing like champions and grinding out results cos u are are always on the defensive mate. It seems to me that you always have a dig at Utd even though Chelsea are playing better and deserve to be top.

The saying goes you only come to see utd or as the case on this forum is you only come to talk about Utd. :o

Now you know what its like to be top of the pile. As your namesake Frank Lampard said a few weeks ago, i know how Man Utd felt when they was winning and everybody hated them. Probally still do but i get a buzz from knowing that people hate us because we pull together and get on with it. (Hi Mr. Bojangles or should i say bitter blue)

Sit back, enjoy the ride cos its more fun winning than losing.

    JJP

ps. the fat lady is chirping but she is not singing yet :D

  20. I have a mate who is coming over from England. He has been offered a job and the company said they they will fax the embassy which he is applying to the required documents. I know about the letter comfirming his job offer but are there any other documents he will need to get his NON B from the embassy. Just checking so the process can run smoothly.

    Cheers
