And as a reminder, this party is sponsored by ThaiVisa for Thai Visa Members + 1 ONLY
For example, new members signing up +5 and current members with +2 or +3 guests unfortunately cannot be accomodated.
Children may accompany parents as a last resort if babysitting is not available, but please be advised that this is an adult party in an adult bar with lots of adult beer.

Ok Buckwheat, sign me up +1. I'll tell Jingjing as well. I live right down the street. (Is there someplace else to sign up for the BBQ, or is this it?)

This is the right place for signups....consider yourself +1 included!

I think that he is a good guy and I very much enjoy Crowboy's contributions to this forum, but if I didn't I would keep it to myself.
As we Brits would say "CB is a "Good Egg"
I too enjoy his contributions to the forum, but I also see where Toon Army is coming from.
A little disagreement now and again is no bad thing.
The forum would be pointless if we all share the same opinions
TP
Nothing wrong with a "little disagreement now and again" and I agree "the Forum would be pointless if we all share the same opinions" so by all means feel free to agree or disagree about the topic at hand "Chiang Mai Free Night Out"

Hi All bike lovers.
New topic , the Mods moved the other one , but I dont see why we not should have our own little bike topic here in Isaan, after all we are some way from Pattaya and Bangkok, so let's see if they let us have this one.
Regards
Tilapia.
After many requests to do so, Admin made a special forum specifically for "Bikes In Thailand" and that is where your thread along with this one was moved.
If you do not want your own forum anymore, please contact admin and let them know.

I bought mine from Watana Computers directly across the street from Foodland.
I have bought 13 computers for corporate as well as private use since 1995.
I had 2 had problems and they were fixed with same day service (one at my home)
They've been here for years and in my opinion, they probably will be here for years to come.

Several off topic comments have been removed.
Further occurances will result in suspensions.

The op asked a legitimate question concerning joining the Tourist Police.
Personal opinions about the TVP are not necessary.
-
Only sign up if you are definitely coming to the Party.
People who are UNSURE if they will be able to attend SHOULD NOT put their names down for obvious reasons.
Thank you.
The obvious reason for putting my name down, though I am not 100% certain, is that those who don't announce their arrival in this thread won't have a nametag made and not admitted, as stated by the organiser earlier.
It would be a bit of a waste of time and petrol driving all the way to CM, don't you think?
So, can I have my nametack, please, Mr. Moderator, even though you deleted my post?
i will try to be there....If you don't know if you are coming, neither do we.
The sign ups are for people who are doing exactly that, signing up.
If you *are* sure you are coming, you are most welcome. If you cannot attend or you are not sure, please refrain from posting.
Thanks
Seems pretty obvious to me!

Isn’t lannarebirth saying that a child counts as your 1 allowed guest, therefore you can’t bring a wife and child. Unless the rules have changed then there have been several mentions of this already and the above is not the case.
Jake
Ok,
One last time.....the party is for Thai Visa members and their 1 wife/1 husband/1 partner/or 1 guest.
IF someone MUST bring a child, they are welcomed to do so without fear of being told to go away.
But it should be the exception...not the rule.
This is, in an attempt to put it in perspective, A PISSUP for adults with lots of beer at a bar. There are not going to be clowns and pinatas, there's going to be BEER...and lots of it.
I hope that clarifies things.
-
Please take note of the following....
We learn something new everytime we have one of these parties and this one is no exception. When we stated that children were welcomed, what we should have stated was that if for some reason you decide to bring a child and you dont mind doing so in a bar environment with free beer flowing, you would not be disallowed attendance to the function. It is first and foremost a "meet and greet" party for Thai Visa members, and right now there are as many children attending as members. So I must apologize for not being as precise as I should have been in the invitation wording and just remind the members that there are going to be many adults at Tuskers and with no dedicated childrens area available, perhaps some of you may want to consider hiring a babysitter for the night.
I think you're still not clear enough Buckwheat. I think it should say "Members can bring one guest, and that guest may be anyone, including a child, if they so wish, but understand there are no dedicated childrens areas available." That is assuming I'm reading it correctly.
You are reading it correctly, and I was trying to be as reasonable as possible considering this is an adult party thread and I was hoping that everyone would "read between the lines", so to speak.
Once again, I apologize for not being as clear as I should have been.
As I said before,we learn something new each time, and we have never had this situation occur at any previous party we have sponsored.
I'll leave it up to the judgment of the good folks in Chiang Mai to do the right thing.

the list must be over 100 by now. Buckwheat, do you guys need a hand? Might be able to lend one if needed on the day.
Thanks a million for the offer Donnyboy.
We can use all of the help we can get and would appreciate any assistance you could render.
Plus Baz needs help tasting the beer to ensure it's cold enough.
Nice sign up response so far! This may end up being rocket science after all.

Thanks for your help, I will look forward to getting into the 'ribs and beer' on the 18th, I am lashing out and booking a hotel room for the night rather than dossing in with the daughter-in-law and family so I can get nicely smashed and not have to drive home!
Great!
We look forward to meeting you and please dont forget our newest sponsor, The Montri Hotel.
Mention the Thai Visa BBQ for a reduced price.

"...I suspect that a lot of these newbies signing up are actually members of another - less honorable - web-site known for pranks like trying to screw up the count for Thai Visa, so there will be way too much food."
Not a problem for folks like you n me UG. I can eat for 2-5 ppl depending on my ambition that day. It might balance out the beer intake too. Also, if too much food (halleluyah!) why not have a door prizes - 2kg bags takehome BBQ Ribs!! Ribs for breakfast, ain't nothin' better.
And what about reports of only 35 ppl showing up for BBQ's int he past. How can it be so different this time ?
Is it the power of ribs ?
We had 62, 55 and 55 at the last 3. We expected more in Chiang Mai and it looks like that's going to happen.
