Hi all

My English girlfriend has just flown back UK, she is returning to Thailand in a few weeks. She is going to apply for a M visa ( media) She has written for local newspapers and has all the necessary evidence regarding her UK qualifications.

She has letter from her prospective employer her in Thailand stating that they will employ her on their newspaper

.

She wishes to work for other Newspapers and would like to go freelance. This will give her other options to do stories for other newspapers

Can anybody tell me to way forward on this.

Would really appreciate any information/advice from you guys

Two questions

1. How do i get a fixed internal telephone set up in my house, I live in Pattaya but need a normal standard fixed house phone, I have no idea as to the procedure or suppliers of this service, can anyone help. How long would this take to sort out >

2 I am looking to buy a I Pad 2 , dont want 3g, just wi- fi, seem them in TUT KOM in Pattaya, It will be used mainly for my work, need internet access, i have a wireless pc at home.

Do you think 32mb would be fast enough ? Whats the disadvantgee of this product (if any) Wjats your views on this. I wont be playing any games on this i pad 2

My local chemist sells 10mg diazepam for 10B each. I always take two on long haul flights and on overnight bus trips too.

I don't think that this is illegal, just normally a prescription drug in most places. That said, if you are on a stopover in any middle east country, notably Dubai, then do not have anything on your person whatsoever. I entered Dubai with a 10 pack of these little blue pills only to realize later the stupidity of my actions.

I am looking for a professional cleaning company that can " deep clean" my rented house (big problems with smelly dogs, grime etc), i need floor polishing, outside jet washed, Leather settee etc, all over general clean.

to make my business succeed.

The Banglamung post office once refused to accept a small parcel for delivery because I had not used one of their little boxes. I took it to the post office in Jomtien who were happy to oblige me.

Can I get a company like EMS to actually PICK UP the parcels from me ( at my home address) without me having to go to any post office

I don't really want to lugging parcels everyday to the post office if you get my drift

If anyone can give to answer to that question that would be great and very helpfull

Just gave my watch to mr wong, lovely man, will take hm two weeks, he explined that this type of watch is not good in thailand becaise of the heat and the wtach is gold and very thin. we shall see

Is there a service available whereby you can open anaccount to get the parcels picked up from your premises and then delivered to customer’sdoor in Thailand?

Any ideas as to price of a 2 kg Parcel would begreatly appreciated.

There is a watch shop on 2nd road directly across from The Avenue, they sell and service watches. Over the last few years I have bought 4 watches for family and had my own watch serviced, the old Thai man that does the work is very good and price is very reasonable. I would say,,, If he can't fix it,,, it can't be fixed,, cheers.

I also go to this guy. Does a good job and has reasonable prices. Lived here 5 years and have never had a problem with his work.

I also endorse this recommendation. A real old school technician in the best possible way.

I take your point there. I heard of one guy (not a friend) who had 2 kids here who went back to the UK and doesn't send a penny over here for his own kids. He is sub human scum, pure and simple.

OK, you heard of one guy who has 2 kids here, doesn't send a penny back to them. You don't know the full background of the breakup, its ONLY what you've been told its what you call "hearsay" never ever rely on this type of "evidence" Only believe what you personally know to be fact.

Maybe, just maybe there are reasons, you ever considered this.......

1. Mother is a Drug addict, spends all the money on Yabba ( maybe)

2. Mother told the father she doesn't want his money (very unlikely admittedly)

3. The Father genuinely has no money (probably)

4 He found out the kids weren't his (possible ?)

5 Father is dead ( who knows)

6. Father is sending money to a friend who is not giving to the mother ( could be)

There are ALWAYS two sides to these types of cases

We could go on and on with endless possibilities i could give you ten more BUT if he has no reason NOT to send money then you are dead right total scum bag

I am in the process of setting a company here in Thailand, I know that the forum rules stop any advertising ( I an more than willing to pay for a banner/advert on the forum) but would like to explain in a post what the product can actually achieve here it Thailand and the huge benefits for animals that suffer with horrendous skin condition (which is particularly bad here in Thailand). The product CANNOT be bought here yet, we will be the contracted sole importer.

Hi All

Cut a long story short, 5 weeks ago I went we Central Shopping Center level three and showed my watch to the " watch repair technician " he opened up the back and told me in broken English it needed a service, quoted me 3000 baht and said he would have to send it to Bangkok. It would take about a week. Problem was i didn't have enough cash on me at the time so told him i would come back later. Didn't go back for because of one thing or anther so i left the watch at home

The watch is a Citizen, 9 ct Gold bracelet watch, not that expensive but sentimental and about 12 years old, runs of a battery but needs a full "service" Had this done in the UK about three years ago cost was about £60.00

Went back today after thinking about the price and now cash in hand and said OK would he please do the job.

He says to me "No can get back off the watch" told him he did 5 weeks ago he which did and he quoted me a price He just kept telling me same line " Cant get back off the watch no can do in Bankok" !!. AMAZING ,what happened to change his mind ?

He is either a complete liar OR he mislaid/lost his tool ?? mmmmmmm ( a watch techician losing his tool is possible, but not that likely me thinks!

Anyway I cant find anyone who "can do", any body out here who has any recommendations for a reliable watch repairers who has the skill to service this typ :rolleyes:e of watch would really appreciate it.

I know its boring story, sorry about that But you are my last hope !!

You can extend for one year - not one month - if you and company qualify. If not you must exit to obtain a new visa (and with that long on work permit/company paperwork you should be able to obtain a multi entry that would be valid for one year and only have to exit/return every 90 days).

Just confirmed with experienced visa lawyer here in Pattaya that one week prior to my expiry of non B (18TH October 2010) we will both go to Jontiem Immigration Office soi 5 and I will get one month initiall extension. Then one month later I will get a ONE year visa stamped in the passport.

That is the one year extension of stay - you must qualify and make application for that to get the one month under review period which is than approved for the full year extension of stay. Marriage extensions require the same wait period for approval. Retirement do not require any wait period.
