  1. Did my marriage extension on the 10th, the immigration officer emphasised that the money in the account couldn't go below 400k during the under consideration period.
  2. My post went right over your head. Do you know what humour is?
  3. All depends on what photos he has of the actress.
  4. Thought that was exactly the point of it, impeding travel.
  5. And its not rocket science to leave the other driver with enough room to get out when you park your bike.
  6. Not sure "friends" is the word I would use.
  7. Definitely something wrong with turning lights and sirens on in traffic to gain priority when not on official business.
  8. It's an all you can eat venue, not an all you can take and throw away.
  9. Does anyone remember an article from a year or two back when a whole pile of special officers raided a large house in Pattaya and the Chinese occupant opened fire on them with an AK47. At the time he said he thought he was being robbed. Does anyone know what the outcome of that one was?
  10. Or at least park your motorcycle so its facing the direction you want to go.
  11. So why is it when I was hit by a car when riding the car driver refused to admit fault, claimed I ran a red light and also claimed he was driving in a different direction. When cctv showed him to be a complete liar, he signed a statement admitting responsibility, agreed to pay compensation and was fined 400 baht. The day the first payment was due, he turned up at the police station and said he'd changed his mind and is was all the foreigners fault. I've never received a single baht from him. We've all got different stories of things that have happened to us over the years here, none of them define the Thai people, there's good and there's bad.
  12. They must be students, they're eating baked beans out of a can!
  13. Well if she's that stupid she should give up the idea of university.
  14. Perhaps because the Thai mental health hospitals aren't very responsive? A couple of years ago a family member was threatening to commit suicide by jumping from a structure into a lake. He had been receiving treatment as an outpatient at a government hospital. The hospital were called and their reply was "Up to you to bring him in".
  15. Chuwit eventually served jail time for what happened that day, perhaps he's now targeting all the people he holds responsible for him serving time?
  16. Went back to Firefox and it had finally opened up. Last 90 day report was my first ever using the online system. I logged in now and was expecting to see my details displayed but it just asks me to fill them all in again, is that correct?
  17. I'm trying to update my 90 day notification online and as I type this I can't even get the website to load, never mind printing off a PDF file. Has anybody actually accessed the website today? Looks like its a browser problem, I used Firefox last time but it won't open, just tried Chrome and it worked ok.
  18. We've had a house in Khonkaen for twenty-two years. For twenty years it never, ever flooded. Even during the floods of 2011, which affected an estimated 13.6 million people, our house didn't flood. For the last two years, the house has flooded and each time, the flood coincided with excess water being released from a dam. Nothing to do with a lack of education on my part and 5,000 baht is scant compensation for someone else's actions. p.s all our household goods are paid for.
  19. Perhaps this might help https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/international/asia-pacific/1654506333-thailand-on-high-alert-over-fears-of-iranian-attack Plus they have previous form https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Bangkok_bombings
  20. "The officials also found evidence of rock blasting on the limestone mountain in the forest and a dirt road has been built leading to the two plots of lands." Doesn't sound like he's much of an improvement.
  21. Totally agree, when I purchased a second-hand bike the Thai seller didn't provide any proof of address. When I sold the bike, just over a week ago, I was asked to show proof of my address, which I did and it was then handed back to me without a copy being taken. Same thing with my passport. Made no sense to me to ask for both items and then not take a copy of them.
  22. I sold a motorbike on Monday and gave the buyer a copy of my pink id card along with the signed transfer form. The buyer was a bit worried about whether the transfer would go smoothly so I went with them to the DLT office. They had a lady at a desk near to the door who checked the documents over and then asked for my passport so I gave her a signed copy (original was in my pocket). After looking the transfer form over again, I was then asked if I had a yellow book, so I gave them a signed copy of that and said I also had the original with me (which they didn't ask to see). After looking over the documents one final time, the copies of my passport and yellow book were then handed back to me as "not needed", just the copy of my pink id required. Quite why they asked to see documents they don't need is anyones guess but in all honesty, the whole process was done quickly and both buyer and seller were very happy with the whole experience.
  23. First line of the op "opposed to extending entertainment venues opening hours even in tourism only zones."
  24. Just be aware though that using your pink card to obtain a driving licence restricts you to getting a two year licence. I used my passport for my car licence which is good for 5 years at each renewal but used my pink card for my bike licence and only got 2 years when I went to renew it.
