  1. I don't think "Boss" has ever been sentenced to anything has he? The statute of limitations applies to charging him and bringing him to trial. Thaksin was brought to trial and found guilty so as far as I am aware, he still has to serve his time, there are no statute of limitations once you've been convicted. (At least that's the way I understand it).
  2. A foreign woman married to a Thai national can apply for Thai citizenship after one year of marriage which would allow them to work, stay indefinitely and own property and inherit any assets.
  3. If they want marriage equality perhaps they should start at the very top and give the spouse of a Thai woman the same rights as the spouse of a Thai man?
  4. "Well, I’ve lived here for a decade and have mixed feelings about the place" "for me it’s a dump and I’ve had enough." If that's what you call mixed feelings I'd hate to be around when you have a firm opinion. ????
  5. Probably didn't have any credit on your phone ????
  6. That has to be the saddest part in all of this.
  7. Their online quote software asks how long you have held a valid licence. I take that to mean a Thai driving licence although I am sure that others on here will disagree. I do not hold an overseas motorcycle licence. I just did a dummy run through the online quote process and they were willing to quote me around 6,500 for an RE 350 classic. When I got my insurance a couple of years ago for an RE 650cc they would only give a quote if I'd held a licence for 2 years. As Bob Dylan said, the times they are a-changing. The simplest way find out if an overseas licence qualifies would be to ask Roojai themselves, they have an option for English and they will connect you with an operator fairly quickly or give you a call back.
  8. My motorbike is also insured through Roojai, I needed to have held a licence for two years before they would insure it. My car is also insured through them and I paid almost as much for my motorbike as I do for my car but with much less coverage. My friend recently insured his 350cc Royal Enfield with them and paid around 7,000 baht.
  9. The French seem to think it is, they've been referring to British people as "Le Rosbifs" since the 18th century.
  10. Stick a coin in the jukebox and play another somebody done somebody wrong song.
  11. Well it certainly got the Germans out of France, plus a few other countries I could think of.
  12. Yes, of course, let them destroy the plantation and then she can live on zero income.
  13. What they need are some of those 100,000 baht ornamental lamp posts.
  14. If the people posting on here asking about whats being offered had bothered to click the link and read it, we could of saved a whole page of posts.
  15. "He was unaware that his statement was being recorded. " Tends to knock that idea on the head. He (or his sister) wants us to believe that he would be paid 5,000 just for reading a statement that nobody else would hear?
  16. Has he also predicted that this years rain will be wet?
  17. Saudi Arabia's state-controlled oil giant Aramco on Sunday reported a record net income of $161.1 billion for 2022 The PGA Tour is a $1.5-billion business that earns the majority of its revenue from five categories—tournament revenue ($660 million), domestic and international media rights ($634 million), Tournament Players Clubs ($142 million), corporate licensing ($65 million) and investments ($21 million). Think Saudi's/LIV are going to need to organise a few more tournaments if they want to diversify away from oil.
  18. The go-to source for immigration information, his expertise will be sadly missed. RIP Joe
  19. Agree it doesn't look like your typical rental but there is a sticker on the side for Turtla, which is a motorcycle rental company.
  20. What are the chances of anyone from the armed forces being held accountable?
  21. I can't get my head round how the digital system works - there is supposed to be a maximum number of tickets per set of numbers, which I believe is nineteen tickets per set. If all sets of numbers are produced in paper form and then distributed around the country, how can they then sell numbers online without exceeding 19? Are they reserving sets of numbers solely for digital sale only? If so, is it just a coincidence that incredibly lucky people are purchasing the full (or almost full) set of winning numbers via the digital system on what looks like a regular basis?
  22. If you click the link to the full story it says foreigners without a Thai bank account can still claim the prize in cash. Plus there are plenty of foreigners here who have a Thai bank account, all those on a retirement visa or marriage extension spring to mind.
  23. But so far only one is being investigated ..... hmmm
