They mention flights for repatriation is allowed. So Thai nationals can still fly home?

Hold on. Where can I get one of these. I want one to research the effectineness of masks cause every countrys experts have different opinions.
As for the generals choice. Many western countries did the same, when their citizens returned home from Thailand. Here in Denmark we could just walk out in the public and not even a note or anything that we were adviced to self quarantine for 14 days. We grabbed a taxi and went home for 14 days self quarantine though.
Many countries messed up on quarantines, so can't see why this guy should be hung out to dry.
Hopefully this outbreak will teach us how to react when first wave is over and it return in the fall/winter if it acts like normal flu season.

It doesn't matter what the nationality of the passengers were, the whole world caught it eventually from that "wet" market in Wuhan China, where they were selling bats, dogs and other exotic creatures for eating. Goodness knows why they should want to eat bats, probably something to do with sexual virility. The Thais should've banned all arrivals from China as soon as the virus was made public in my opinion.
The same thing can be said about the Thai wet markets where they also store and sell all kind of animals. Or the other wet markets spread across Asia.
Maybe it's time to ban all those markets?

We flew Thai Airways as we always do.
They rescheduled our tickets with no fees at all, when we had to cut holiday short 14 days ago.
That's service.

Hopefully the quality of the masks are better than what some countries received in Europe from China. Some countries had to send most back since the quality was, well, what you would normally expect from China.

Seems like a good idea to have a somewhat good immune defense these days if corona comes knocking on the doors.
So would just stock up a little and not go overboard and consume a whole lot.
This Covid 19 messes with our lives in so many different ways.
Will be a rough year for sure.

How did he manage to pass the temperature test which I understood was automatically part of the immigration procedure?
And was he the only one to slip through the net? Guess we will find out the hard way.
Temperature control only catch those having a fever. Tons of people having the Corona virus never develops any fever at all or even get symptoms. But still infect. Many of us could have the disease and not even knowing it, which is why it's so spooky, because we could run around spreading it. I got 6 more days left in quarantine after returning to Europe from Thailand and will be nice to get outside again. No symptoms so far, but I wish everyone could get a antibody test to see if we had it or not. Now I have to worry about catching this disease when I get out, but if I knew I had it allready I could relax.

As someone mentioned anyone can die no matter what age.
I'm 50+ now and is quite troubled about this outbreak, but when i think back i wouldn't give a flying )"/¤ about his outbreak if i was 20 years old.
Back then it was just party, drink and get laid no matter what consequences.
Rinse and repeat.
Hopefully the youth is smarter these days and realize this is quite serious.
Best of luck to all across the planet.

Not smart to criticize those of his own kind that risk their lives everyday.
Not smart at all....

That tube seems a tad small to be effective and it would probably only affect the nearest surroundings.
But UV works.
Here in Denmark UV robots are allready in function in a few hospitals, so we know it works against certain things.

This is the same man who recently said that everything is under control.
A lot of the European countries said the same thing. Until things started to crash. Same with Trump saying it would go away in April with warmer weather and we all know how stupid that sentence sound now.
This has taken the whole world by surprise, even if WHO in 2019 published a report that the world is not ready for a pandemic, but sadly governments didn't react, because they don't want to spend a whole lot of money on something that might happen in the future.
Hopefully the politicians across the globe will learn from this pandemic.

“Although it says online you could change flights with no charge, we tried to do this and this was untrue, it was trying to charge us over £1000.”
That's outrageous that Emirates didn't do a rebooking free of charge like many other companies did.
I arrived on koh Chang March 7, and Friday the 13th my government advice people to return home.
Busy weekend while contacting insurance and Thai Airways. Thai airways managed to get new seats on a plane the 19th which we accepted and cut our holiday short, because it was clear that we could end up stranded if we waited to long.
Thai airways rebooked tickets without any charge because of the situation.
That's good service.
Emirates should have done the same.
No way these people will fly Emirates again.

If Thailand want to rename every strain of mutation of this virus they will have their hands full. Scientists in Iceland has found 40 different mutations so far.

True but most countries did warn its citizens to return home. I was on koh Chang and as soon my government adviced everyone to come home as soon as possible I started contacting airline, travel insurance and embassy right away.
Managed to get home on a different flight and cutting holiday short. I'm happy to be back in Europe even if everything is closed down and I'm quarantined. Hopefully Thailand will cancel their visa system as long as this Corona chaos runs, so stranded tourists don't get into trouble, because queuing up like that is a disaster in the making.

Bought 3 large bottles of hand sanitizer while in Thailand to use at home.
1 seem legit enough from Kings stella , but the 2 others noname brand had very bad spellings labeled on them.
So decided to boil some from the 2 noname brands.
Boiled 2 Deciliters and it started to boil at about 65-70 degrees, so i guess i should get rid of those?

It seems like giving up smoking these days would be a good thing, no matter if it carries over through exhaling or not.
it seems that smokers has a higher chance of dying from this damn vira.

They have to do something drastic.
Here in Denmark the government is spending a crazy amount of money, trying to make sure, that private companies will lay off as little as possible, so the government has a program where companies can seek help. I think it's up to 100,000 baht pr month pr person, that they cover. That's less than a monthly wage for most people here , but still enough to pay most bills and get through it.
Off course that kind of program can't run forever but hopefully it will prevent total chaos the next few months.
People all over the world need help these days and I hope the different governments are doing their best to help the unfortunate ones.

This damn thing is scary.
Italy had almost 800 deaths yesterday and the curve is not flattening out as expected.
I fear that could happen in Thailand as well, if nothing serious is done soon.
At first i thought The country was somewhat protected by having a warm climate and natural high UV ratings, that gives the virus a lower chance of surviving longer times on surfaces, but seems like that theory is out the window.
I hope the world get through this without everything ending in total chaos and riots.
Thank god it seems like some countries has managed to stop the outbreak, so there is hope.

Man i feel sad for human mankind these days.
Race, religion or politics does not matter these days.
We're all in the same boat and need to take care of this problem worldwide.

Certainly not, because there is evidence that you can get infected more than once
Looks like someone else all ready thought of something similar than to a stamp in passport.
This one just documents if you have been tested negative though.

It's hard to know how many really are infected. At one time when Denmark had 900 positive cases, their best estimate was that there could be between 9000 - 90000 infected. They simply didn't know.
Back in Denmark now and in Quarantine at home. On the way home in Taxi, my home town looked like Sunday very early morning, but it was actually Thursday rush-hour.
Spooky.
The aftermath of this virus can turn out to be very very ugly.
I think travels to Thailand and the rest of the world could be on hold most of 2020 if not longer until the globe get herd immunity or develop a vaccine.
Would it be unthinkable that our passports in the future would contain an official stamp, that showed we had been infected with Corona, but recovered so now couldn't infect others?

I just hope the virus won't mutate into to many strains until we get a vaccine.
The world is allready looking at a whole lot of pain, when it comes to the economy and lost job.
This one if affecting us all no matter if we care or not.
Returning home from Thailand Thursday and looks like I'm returning to some sort of post apocalyptic Europe.

To mask or not to mask: East and West have different views
in Thailand News
Posted
There is a slight increase of countries recommending that it's best to wear a mask if sick or not, but i still have to see a solid study that actually shows it helps.
I understand that if you have symptoms a mask will somewhat prevent you from spreading it because it's not airborne, and i understand that in some asian countries prior to covid 19 it's common to use a mask if sick.
How about a proper study that actually shows if they work or not, instead of each country following their advice of their so called experts.
Plenty of experts all ready proved wrong during this outbreak, so lets get some facts instead of this "lets spin the bottle"
