  1. Seems weird I've never had to support any womans family here in the UK despite being filthy rich.

I reckon theres a lot of self delusion going on here. Face it. You ARE seen as a cash cow despite what the illusion maybe.

In what way is it self delusion ?

If People in the UK did not have the social Security system, the Millions of claimants would find life very tough.

When we talk of a relationship in Thailand and a relationship in a country with Social security benefits, there is no real comparison between the two.

If the UK did not have benefits there would be many many poor people, and life would not be so easy there. People complain in England, but you have a good system to assist you if you are needy, I am afraid 3rd world countries do not have that same privilage.

You claim to be filthy rich, so maybe you have never been poor or hungry, I have.

Most poor people in Thailand would love to go to western countries and know that they will get help from the Government even if they do not work.

I think you are the delusional one. :o

  2.     Why is it " up to you" Surely they can all club together and help out. Why do they always look to the farang?

I am not sure that THEY always look to the Farang, and if I was earning 3000 Baht a month in a Field in Isaan, I doubt I would help out as much, but I would still chip in what I could, same as everybody else.

But I do not earn 3000 Baht a month in a Field, so I really do not mind helping out at all. In fact I like to think that a relativley small contribution from me can make someones life a little bit better.

I was once poor myself, I had nothing. I lived in a 1800 baht a month room in Soi Skaw Beach in Pattaya, 4 people in one small room, 3 go-go girls and me. I had been through a very tough period in my life, those girls had very little, but they still sent money home to their families and would come home in the evening during their 30 minute break and bring me some food, One girl bought me some shoes cos my copy trainers had split at the seams.

My so called Farang friends that had helped me piss all of my money up the wall where noticable in their absence.

I have had the benifit of the Generosity of Thai people, I now have a Job working overseas that pays disgustingly well, so I can afford to help those less fortunate than I am. And I enjoy doing it. :o

  3. Isn't it true  you marry a thai girl you pretty much marry her family also??   :o

No, but you will probably help out more than you would have done if you had married a girl from a country that has old aged pensions and social security.

If your wifes family need help you are also part of that family. It is up to you to decide how much help you are able or willing to give.

    Quite normal I think.

  4. I bought Land in Loei, and I will make a house soon. I do this for my girlfriends future, should I ever leave her , she will have something to fall back on, I really do think of it as OUR house, not hers or mine.

I would not want to put a house in a registered company name or get a lease, too much hassle for me, I would rather give it away if things go pearshaped.

Hello KIWI JAMES ( Mick here ), how is your wife? And how is Hoi Pai ?

I will be back in Loei soon, I will come and see you again!! Have a beer this time. :o

  5. My partner is pretty independent, though in times when he's had extra money he's sent some home- never asked me for any to send, and he has his own job.  Since his family doesn't really have enough to take care of his younger brother, he tries to help the kid out when he can- still in high school- and ONCE he really needed money for the guy's tuition fee and didn't have it and asked for it- something like 2000B.  I was happy to give it.

I think the decent ones don't treat us like walking ATMs.

    "Steven"

    Well said Steven. :o

  6. I just see things as they really are in this wonderful land. This safe haven from the wicked west, where life is easy and the people love you.

I just sit back and observe. Ly low is the best policy here, or you may become another statistic :D

    Like you did ? :o

Nah, I wont lend any more money to Farangs now. My chances of getting ripped off have dramatically decreased. :D

  7. I think he should go for it also.

3 years for Fraud = maybe 2 - 3 months in a local nick for assesment, then a Catagory D open prison, for 9 months and 6 Months on the Tag maybe on HDC. ( Home Detention Curfew. )

Straight back in the system when you get out the nick, claiming social immediately.

Try going back to the UK after being away for years in Thailand and claiming immediately, they wont have it, go in the nick for a couple of months and you are automatically back in the system.

And the food is great.!!! :o

  8.   At least it was money earned, not purloined from some gullible farang, who falls foul of an innocent, shy smile, which diguises and grasping, heartless, ungratful Thai pooying, who pure intention is to rip him off.

Simbo, you sound like you are jealous of the girls. :D

Are you one of these farang that lives on a shoestring budget secretly wishing someone would send you a monthly allowance ? :D

I like to see the girls do well, then again I am financially solvent so I do not worry about what other people get or do not get. Mostly it is the poorer farang that reel in Horror when a guy buys a house or sends some money to a Thai woman. Deep down inside they wish someone would do the same for them. :D

And as for people ripping people off in Thailand, your biggest threat comes from other Farangs, I lived in Pattaya for 14 years and the only people to rip me off where other Farang. :o

  9.    At least it was money earned, not purloined from some gullible farang, who falls foul of an innocent, shy smile, which diguises and grasping, heartless, ungratful Thai pooying, who pure intention is to rip him off.

And all these girls come from non-tourist areas. So in must be inbred. They know why they go to the tourist areas and the families accept money, knowing full well how it has been earned.

And the Farangs keep arriving daily by the Planeload.

Even with the chance of a good education they are still unable to resist giving money away :o

  10. If I was a poorly educated girl with no decent employment prospects and my Parents where poor and getting older, and I have watched them struggle to make a living on the farm with very little return. and my prospects where such that I would be following them into same poverty trap.

I would be looking for a Farang!!!!

And as so many Farangs are willing to come to Thailand and buy houses for girls, buy gold, motorcycles, Pick-ups, trips abroad, good clothes, etc etc....why the fux not?

    Who could blame me. :o

Farangs hit the Bars when they come to Thailand, so where would I go, a library, bookshop, shoeshop, bakery............Or a Bar?

I would be looking for a Farang with money that would take care of me and my family. For that I will stay with a man 20 - 30 years older than me, everyones a winner. :D

  11. Iv'e seen men, who have worked hard all their lives, had their life savings taken away for the love of a Thai woman.  Grasping and heartless!!! :o

    Look at it this way,

If you was a guy in the Western world, you would need to be well off to hang out with women 20 - 30 years younger than you. In Thailand it is the norm.

Rod Stewart does not get his 21 year old lovers cos he is a Young man, he gets them cos he can afford them.

And people like Rod Stewart lose Millions of Dollars in settlements, Millions and Millions.

As far as i know, none have been Thai.

Older guys will always pay for the privilage of having a young Girlfriend or wife or Lover.

It is the same all over the world. :D

  12. It's the end of Scampy as we know it, and I feel fine.

    Welcome back Doctor John. :o

    Thanks Scamp, and Good luck.

I once went through a very rough patch in Thailand, and well meaning people told me the best thing to do would be to go back to England. It was well intentioned and good advice..........................................................................

........ so of course, I did not go back to England. :D

If I had taken other peoples advice I would probably now be working filling shelves in ASDA, stealing food whilst saving my money to get back to Thailand.

If Thailand was a drug, it would be Heroin. It's so addictive.

Hang in there, something usually comes up. It did for me.

    He who dares, wins. :D

  13. So theoretically if I went back to the UK took out a hundred grand or so in loans made at least the first payments to show willingness to pay  them then returned here for 6 years I could go back and evrything would be back to square one.

Lots of others have done the same thing, and the worse that can happen is you get done for fraud, 3 year sentence = 18 months, Nice open prison like HMP FORD, piece of cake. Try for 200,000! :o

  14. I don't think Dr. John is actually so dense- just trying to get a reaction.  Do I dare utter the "T" word?

    "Steven"

So you think that I was only looking for a reaction when i suggested Crucifixtion in Pattaya ?

    hehe.......... :D

Dr. John, the more you talk the dumber you look. Your choice, right?

This is what I had heard, but I had never had it confirmed.

Thanks for putting my troubled mind at ease. :o
