  1. It does get hairy right at the front. My suggestion is to watch while you're in the snaky part of the queue because some of the IOs are much faster than others. Then get in their queue at the front.
  2. Unfortunate, but I remember 2 hour queues before Covid. They've improved a lot, also at the taxi stand. What a difference! I got through just as my bag got dumped on the luggage carousel. So, perfect timing...
  3. Timing is everything here. Too late to damage the Biden/Harris campaign and maybe in time to flush it through before it affects the midterms.
  4. Came in last night with no problems. (and no QR, just a sheet printed with my passport #, DTAC number and date of arrival) But they were sending around 1 in 3 or 4 travelers back to get their DTAC in order when it was their turn in the queue. Most of the arrivals had their data on their smartphone screen- no paper and that was fine. Some had nuthin'. That wasn't fine. Though the queue was short just after midnight, it was very slow. Looks like they're still dialing it in. I'd have hated to arrive at peak time. The DTAC machines in the foyer on the way to immigrations had no queue at all, but they were off to the left and not very clearly marked, (around where the VOA's were issued).
  5. Who had the keys to the autopen room? They need to learn from this and require the President's fingerprint on every document signed by autopen. He could have put his thumbprint on 1000 documents in a half hour. I wonder how many pardons were sold and Biden had no clue.
  6. I don't doubt it. That's what the syndrome does to you...
  7. Just confirms who's training AI and for what purpose. Garbage in, garbage out.
  8. I'm waiting for someone to correlate the acceleration of his decline with a certain event in his healthcare... But then, I like a good wingnut conspiracy theory spoiler alert. Edit: And I saw the devastating effect that same healthcare event visited on my health.
  9. I'd give just about anything to go back and undo my 2nd Pfizer. I still haven't recovered my balance or full feeling on the left side of my face, and probably never will. So I'd have to be an idiot to get another.
  10. Congratulations for working that Elon stooges thing in to a discussion of a UK shop being hacked. As if SS locking wasn't a thing before Elon.
  11. Not to worry. We'll be saving 10x that sending unwelcome travelers back.
  12. We call those spoiler alerts. If your wife is a dude, what does that say about your sexuality? I get a kick out of the way they blame Russkie intelligence agencies. As if TikTokers and YouTubers don't do it just for clicks.
  13. Or maybe you were just lucky. There's a CBC exposé on travel insurance that claims you need both a doctor and a lawyer to fully understand a travel policy. A doctor to understand the medical terminology, and a lawyer to understand the legalese. They seem to categorize it as "difficult". It's on YouTube: Travel Insurance Are you actually covered (CBC Marketplace)
  14. Or tremendously selfish. They got quieter beaches and shorter queues and the locals went broke in droves. So it was all good as far as they're concerned.
  15. The only option I saw was to print out the page, which didn't have a QR code. Just a number. So I printed it and PDF'ed it.
  16. I figured out not to even try stationary taxis on my first hotel stay in Bangkok. I'm talking about taxis that I flag down and they refuse the trip if I tell them to use the meter. Edit: Here's how that conversation usually goes: Where you go? Bumrungrad. 300 baht. I'll pay the meter. And then he zooms away. Which is really stupid on my part because I'm fixing to spend 10K, 20K or 30K at Bumrungrad and 300 baht is peanuts. At the airport, they assign me a taxi. My options are rather limited there. Sometimes, they're great and use the meter. Other times they try it on and my options are to get out and go back to the ticket machine or take the one I got. Or negotiate the best I can, with my priority being a driver that's not pissed off. Happy drivers don't drive like maniacs trying to get rid of me as fast as they can.
  17. That's a conundrum. Gamers that have money pay not to get the ads. Gamers without money see the ads. Who wants to advertise to people who have very little discretionary money?
  18. That's not what the League of Nations and the Brits said. You're rewriting history. Or trying to, anyway.
  19. The topic is that Palestine is being wiped off the map. That's generally referred to as "ethnic cleansing". Unless, of course, it's the good guys doing it.
  20. The Brits and the League of Nations referred to it as Palestine. Just Google "British Palestine".
  21. I have the same issue in China and Thailand, but I only think I'm using the same tones. I'm not really. One of my first lessons when I arrived in China 25 years ago is that "la gi" can mean "garbage" or "spicy chicken", depending on the tone. Coming from vowels, consonants and zillions of accents (all comprehendible), tonal languages are a challenge.
  22. Not sure that's a good thing... Faces firmly planted in their small screens...
  23. Just another data point, I'm sure. I successfully filled it out in China, with departure point in China, residence in the USA, and countries in the past 2 weeks being China. I didn't get the email yet after 24 hours or so, but I printed out the page and also saved it to a PDF. No QR code. Just an "Arrival Card Number" with my name, passport # and date of arrival. I'll post back if I have any issues in China or BKK tomorrow.
  24. And the lefties are all up in arms... The Episcopal Church even cancelled their 40 year contract with the gub'ment to help resettle immigrants, citing a moral opposition to resettling persecuted white folks. Not to mention they showed up waving American flags (and they'll probably vote Red when they do get citizenship). Oh, the horror.
