Same old coconut they drag out every few years to make it look like they care. In a few weeks it will all go away, and the rich will carry on paying the brown packages to the very governors that have been detailed to investigate. You have to laugh really.

He asserted to Phuket government officials that any form of influential foreigner with a negative reputation exerting control over Thai locals is entirely unacceptable.
Of course it unacceptable, that is a reserved occupation for local mafia, and their corrupt officials.

This is a good example of the crazy laws here. How is it possible that a minor charge like trespass can be four years in jail, while a physical assault can be bought off. I may be wrong, please tell me if I am, but even now after more than 3 decades here I still believe the laws are geared towards the rich and influential at the expense of the common man.

A tiny print defect on the top edge. Even when it was mixed with other notes they all picked up on it and refused to accept it. The note was legit and the defect was hardly noticeable so it comes as no surprise this guy was apprehended
Keep it, it could be worth more in a few years if it is flawed...

As usual, it is smoke and mirrors. They only put the tax up on local beers and spirits two months ago. Now reduce it for a few months, then probably raise it even higher. The tax man, no matter what country, will never give up grabbing as much as possible.

Exactly, many people just do not realise the banks, and Governments want us to stop using cash. Then they will have one more step to complete control.

Must be a knock on effect from the computerisation of automatic speeding fines, etc. Tea money taking a big hit. Thai household debt is very high I believe. In our village there are always meetings and announcements that it is time to pay the government their instalment on loans, or interest will be added................cannot get blood from a stone, they borrow but do not have the concept, or the means to repay the banks.

Another Farang hater that put more obstacles on extension applications, I for one would not be too sad to see the back of him, if he is guilty. More than likely upset the bank balances of a few higher ups in his past crusading campaigns.
