What is posted above may be called a certificate of vaccination in English on the cover but is actually the Vaccination Passport issued separately  by the MOH for a 50Baht fee to the Vaccination Certificate, shown below, which is issued free by the hospital which does the jabs. I have both documents.

I have made my claim by phone the usual questions that others have said but they also asked me if I was married and her full name and date of birth also the date we got married.  They asked me the date I left the UK the Date I left my last employer and If I had claimed any benefits in the UK.  I was told it will now take up to 13 weeks to process the claim due to Covid but may take less.  You can make a claim up to 4 months before your pension date if you live overseas but only 2 months if you live in the UK, I did not know this or I would have made my claim earlier, I hope this info is of some help to others.

    Very helpful thanks.

I've just called the International Pension Centre (+441912187777) and claimed my UK state pension which is due in 3-4 months. Very helpful lady on the end of the phone. Similar experience as @scotsman above. I was connected immediately, no waiting in the queue. All done in less than 20 minutes. Very good service.

    Excellent thanks..

If I remember correctly, your last address in UK, when you left UK and at least your last employer. Maybe passport details, not sure. They really did not go into too much detail as it seems your NI number gives them all the info. It must be to double check that you are who you say are.

Makes me wonder why anyone would do it differently considerering the hassle saved.

If you can using skype or whatever, ring them as it is the quickest and easiest way to do this. Took about 10 minutes then they will send you an sms when all is completed. Did mine back in Feb this year.

Wow thanks did you phone the International pension centre +44 (0)191 2187777 on the gov.uk page?

Yes 18 digit number required to pay by bank transfer,

Number only available from helpline ............... helpline always busy.

Just to be sure is this 18 digit ref. number applicable to paying from outside the UK?On the GOV.UK website the ref. number for overseas payments is given as your NI number etc.

i would phone them again and ask for i think its a 13 or maybe a 16 digit reference number that will refer to the payment, pay the money, at some stage it will be allocated to your account and show as 21/21 class 3 payment, if you start to receive your pension and its a year short, it will at some stage be updated and will be back dated.

I am in the same boat, i paid class 2 via HMRC on the 8th of April this year for 20/21, it is still in my HMRC account and has still not ben allocated, i have spoken to pensions and was told as i have posted above, my pension started late April 2021, i am still one year short about £20 every 4 weeks

edit what is your pension forecast showing

Thanks I will phone again.I was sure there had to be a way of making this last payment. My current forecast is 167 per week but that is minus the 20/21 payment I made recently that is stuck in the system..Together with the 21/22 payment if I make it this will rise to 177.

Yes , your correct , I still have to pay another 2 years (i just paid last years £780) , so it would take me 3 years to recoup the money paid.

I am not sure were you get the 20% tax from as I am well under the tax threshold myself.

It seems every case is different , maybe mine is different as I was self employed from 1982 until I moved here in in 2001

Everything I have read including official letters from the DWP to me have said there is no benefit to be gained in paying voluntary contributions for tax years earlier than 2016-17.Your personal circumstances might be highly exceptional of course as you suggest.

Stop panicking they will allow it and you to pay, you are nowhere near the cut off time limit for contributions.

The effect of those two years to make 35 years is negligible but they will let you pay.

I've now paid everything including contributions for the tax year 2020-21.I phoned the UK asking if I could pay 2021-22 in advance knowing it is 800.80 the agent seemed unsure saying it would just sit in the system. He suggested phoning again near the end of the tax year.My pension is due next April shortly after the start of the 2022-23 tax year after which it will be frozen as I have been totally honest about living in Thailand..My concern is I will either miss a years contributions leading to a smaller pension or if I pay it will be pointless as my pension is already frozen.

I think the covid situation has messed things up,  I guess many DWP people are working from home.

Have you tried the UK gov web site to find out how much a week Class 3  N.I. contribution are, the only other way is to kept on phoning or sent an email.

An email is taking 2 to 3 weeks the last time I emailed them for them to answer but they acknowledge the email sent within a day or so.

Thanks again I did find some figures...I sent them an email hoping they can confirm they are accurate.

I wouldn't of thought so unless you refer it to a later year.

They base your UK pension on the amount of NI payments made the minimum last I heard was 35 years for a basic UK pension.

Less than that that it goes down to a minimum of 10 years last I remember.

Best telephone them and find out.

Thanks another thing is that it gets frozen...so I need to pay 2 more years to make 35 years and they haven't given me a figure 2021-22 yet..

You could try to phone them and ask.  It's probably OK, as there are now very  long delays in assigning  received payments to individual accounts. If you call them they will be able to tell you if the payment has been received and can assign it to your account immediately after you call.

I'm not overseas any more, but made a class 3 voluntary payment in the UK  on Jan 25th this year, and phoned them 5th March to check, as it had not shown up. They told me it had been received but was in the queue for being assigned, and that they would do it that day.

I appreciate it's expensive to call from abroad:  they play a  lot of prerecorded messages and I had about a 20 minute wait after that, but it may be worth it for your peace of mind.

The HMRC NI contributions help desk number I used in the UK was   03002003500, but I'm not sure if this works from abroad , so you may have to Google for  information about whether you need to contact a different department concerning overseas NI contributions.

Thanks I am writing to them first then I will have to phone them.

  13. Hi,I have been making voluntary class 3 national insurance contributions to boost my state pension.Payments for 3 tax years went through ok if a bit slowly. On March 22 2021 I made a payment for 2019-2020 via online banking in an identical manner to those earlier following the instructions on the gov.uk page for payments from abroad.I have my bank statement to prove this 'payment to hmrc nic receipts'.

As of today June 18 2021 my personal tax account is not showing this payment as received.I'm wondering if something has gone wrong...any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.
