  1. So its not the garbage, unfinished building work, drunken thais on the beach promenade, holes in the pavements everywhere, blackfumes from cars that should be taken off the road, stray dogs and dog sh^t? Of course all Thai villages are beautiful retreats into the country with no plastic bottles, boxes and empty chang bottles every where, Do you and I live in a different country ?

You really do love it here.. I can see why you want to stay

  2. We do bring the money to this city and if we left what would be left ? If you think I am inacurate, please explain your thoughts

Depends who you class as we? I recall similar comments on how Thailand would never survive if the visa rules were changed, I never noticed any negative impact and never read any adverse reports.

I - We what ever don't include me in your little band of people who keep Pattaya alive and well.

Do you work here? are you paying tax apart from your 7% purchase tax which every one has to pay?

I doubt Pattaya would suffer if half of the long stay residents here left, as I am sure we will see in 90 days from the 1st of October.

It was a thriving city when I came here 10 years ago and there were probably only 30% of the whinging Cheap Charlies there are now.

Like i said why not test your theory and round up your band of big spenders and see if the rest of us here like it better or not.

As for what makes Pattaya look like a shit hole ask the Thais, they will tell you its the fat gutted farrangs walking around town with their bellies hanging out.

Soi Bukhow doesnt have many street dogs but it is the largest shit hole in Pattaya.

  3. Take the easy route - pass the buck. Help rather than complain - whine whine whine but sit on your <deleted> doing bugger all

And what is it that we are meant to do about this?

    1) we are not permitted to work,

    2) City hall runs this city

    3) We came here to retire relax, finish work and spend our hard earnt cash

We are all tax payers in this city through vat 7%, if we wasn’t here, Pattaya would once again be a fishing village, but without the fish, starving bar girls and plenty of rabid stray dogs. :o:D:D

:D:D:D:D Pattaya would never survive without you Rocky.. I know why don't you test your theory..

  4. Very nearly fell for that one and joined a flame fest.

Your skill at teaching kids to stay away from stray, potentially rabid dogs is merit worthy. However your arguments will only make sense when you come up with a scheme to teach potentially rabid dogs to stay away from children.

As to your noble charity efforts, I'm sure we all applaud you. But you were right when you said it was your business and totally off topic.

Not at all off topic when aka_jack tells me time and efforts are spent better helping children. I have a few posts on here over a reasonable period of time and never felt the need to mention it before, however when some one assumes without asking that just because you care for dogs or any animals that you don't care for children or people as well then its time to put the record straight.

Just keep your children away from where you know the dogs are, its not rocket science, they tend to stay in the same places all the time.

Like grover a few years ago I took the bully dog of the soi, I fed him and got his hair to grow back, after a few months at night when I went out he would cry like a baby when he heard my bike pull up he was so happy. A elderly Thai lady adopted him after about 6 months and he lived with her until he died. His name was holly as he only had half an ear. (after the boxer holyfield who's ear tyson bit off)

If any of you who can only think a kull is the only answer actually took the time to take just one of these poor creatures and gave it a proper life then you would I am sure change your "Im allright Jack" attitudes.

Black Jack your posts are not even worthy of a reply you really are a pr*ck if you think that you are clever or funny.

  5. Well whats the point of arguing with you idiots.. look after your kids and keep them away from stray dogs.. I have 2 they haven't been bitten because I teach them well how to treat animals and to be wary, I would not let my kids around stray dogs unless they have been trained again.

As for helping the street kids.. I do, I make regular donations to various charities, do you? I have 2 kids 1 is mine 1 is an adopted girl whose parent were HIV victims. I also put 2 additional Thai children a boy of 7 and a girl of 11 through school every term, and have for the past 5 years.

I don't shout about it because its really only my business and that's not why I do it. So come on what do you do to help anyone or anything in Thailand on a regular basis?

Put up or shut up you morons.

  6. Why can't they just also name it "Soi White Lily", making it easier to pronounce

For example they did this to Thanon Wittayu = Wireless road in BKK

When I first went to pattaya, no thai understood what I meant when I say...

Lotus...... to the thais is = Lotad, or Lotat

    and

Carefour......to the thais is = Carefu

    Just so confusing!

What a good idea.. every time a farrang doesnt understand something lets change the name so that they can.. :o

  7. Walking there the other day I though maybe it should just be re-named to Peckham High St.

I would guess it will get quiet empty after Christmas when all of the Cheap Charlies have had their 3 x 30day VOA. Either that or it will be callied soi overstay.

    Who loves my Avatar

  8. I also use a young Thai guy and have for the last 6 years, he has installed large networks for me, 30 plus computers but is happy carrying out small day to day tasks as well, has a car and will come visit you.

Kwan - 0813464331 Just say Rob gave you his number.. Nice young lad.

  9. You can live in a 20 mil condo there, what does it mean when , as soon as you step out you are among the dogs as if you were in worst s***hole in the world.

    :o

Do you seriosly belive its the dogs that make people think pattaya is a shit hole???

  10. It's been a while since Bkk/Patters hospital has been in the news so I thought I would remind everyone about how good they really are.

Last week a friend of mine went to Bkk/P to have a wisdom tooth pulled.

A couple of days later he was still in agony even after taking the pain killers they gave him.

Eventualy they admitted that they had broken his jaw.

    Not even an apology.

    Good old Bkk/Patters Hospital :o

2 years ago - after bottling out of going to the dentist for several/many years I went to their dental department.

I had to have 25 hours worth of dental work done over a 6 week period. Before I went there the thought of the dentists filled me with dread.

I now would go back there again with no fear at all.

    They were terrific.

Sorry to hear about your friend, but it sounds like there was an unfortunate unpleasant complication.

I could tell you of some horror stories of private treatment in the UK as well !!!

    Is your friend OK now??

The point is did you actually need the 25 hours of dental work? I went in there a few years ago to see about some veneers for my front teeth, after sitting me in a chair for 15 minutes and not taking any xrays he said that the crowns I had on my back teeth were infected and all needed replacing!!

Total cost 250,000 baht, he could start tomorrow and was insistent that I leave a 40,000 baht deposit at reception before leaving. Yeah Right.

So I asked some friends who reccomended me a small dental clinic, I visited and explaned what had happened and she then xrayed all of my existing crowns, her verdict was that they were fine, no infection and the root canals had been carried out well.

A major problem here in Pattaya with many dentists is that they will try an carry out work that isn't really required.

I would always suggest a second opinion.

As a side note I had a friend who had a tight chest this year, he was in his late 60's ge went in for a check up and was told he needed a heart bypass, now I am not saying that he didn't however it was very rushed, he was in recovery and had a relapse, they opened him up again and he died the following day. The question I have asked is did he actually need the operation there and then? Could he have flown home and had treatment at home and if so would he have passed away there!

  11. I wouldn't say it was worth taking a trip from Samui for. It is an aging theme park for want of a better expression. We went about 2 years ago and I doubt we would return. You really have to fight to get Thai entry prices - driving licence, ATM card and photocopy of work permit necessary . I would suggest that if you do go, don't do what we did which was buy an entry ticket that allowed access to all rides, rahter pay when you see the one you fancy. Also, don't bother with Iceland or whatever it calls itself. Snow? it resembles the mush you get when you defrost the freezer!

Hope that sets you on the right path

Can't say I had the same problem I took my two kids and 3 of his mates and they simply asked me if I lived here or not then charged me Thai price.

It is a bit aged now but its still fun for the kids, plenty to keep them occuoied for a day for sure.

  12. Naka

5 in the Garden at any one time.. when one gets a good home then another one get pulled off the street and overhauled. If you want one ill happily PM you my address.

Not a saint just not someone who thinks that easy route is the best route.

Suiging So I guess all the injured dogs you have seen you have picked up and had treated?

Fact is some people take the time to care, others don't.

Like I said the ones who think mass slaughter is an good option, look out for Big Tony Clifton and his scooter in your next life.

Round up all the Farrangs on 3 or more 30 days visa's and i'll be there giving a helping hand.

  13. Well how many of you have been bitten bye a dog.. as a kid of 11 I had 53 stitches in my face from a dog bite, dogs fault? no the owners, badly trained, under fed and abused.

I did not say that farrangs could cure the problem, I think in fact Tony is THAI and he is a leader in helping re-house stray dogs here.

To say all Thai's don't care is ridiculous, I know dozens of caring Thai people who are constantly picking up strays and care passionately for animals who are unable to care for themselves.

But if we all chipped in then the problem would be reduced.

What I am opposed to is all the weak feeble people who pass the buck and take the easy route rather than getting involved in fixing the problem personally.

Tony Clifton, well what a big tough guy you are, scaring starving animals on your bike.. what a total <deleted>, you probably go around stealing little kids sweets as well.

Neutering and re-housing is the answer, with the first being the priority to prevent future problems.

Karma.. lets hope all of you advocating slaughter come back as stray dogs and get chased up and down the soi by big bad tony clifton :o while you are trying to find something to eat.

  14. I'm with BJ on this one. The dogs themselves are having a miserable existence and need to be rounded up and neutered. Same dog chased my car every b-loo-dy time I went round the lake; poor thing ended up in bits by the side of the road. Quick death for him, but how many strays limp off into the bushes to die a long, slow painful death ?

Round them up for the good of us humans and often for the good of the animal.

Take the easy route - pass the buck. Help rather than complain - whine whine whine but sit on your <deleted> doing bugger all

  15. Pattaya Thai nearly oppsite soi Bukow, small clinic called 79 dental, 6000 baht and she shows you a few times as she is doing it to see if you are happy with the results.

It's not the most impressive of environments but she is a sweet heart, I wanted veneers and she actually talked me out of it even though she is qualified to do them and gave me a whitening and some nice new white fillings instead for a 10th of the price.

Thats a first for me in 10 years of Pattaya dentists.

  16. Last week 2 friends were attacked by stray dogs

    yesterday I was attacked

today from my balcony I saw several dogs attack anything that moved or went past on a bike

a dangerous situation has developed and its getting out of hand

So can anyone tell me who in the local government is in charge of getting rid of them

If you dont believe take a walk down Jomtien Beach road and if you dont count at least 200 stray dogs then I buy the beer

    OK

anyone can assist then email me

    thanks

You must be terrified all the way up on your balcony!!

Why don't you try helping the situation by adopting one or sponsoring one at Tony's compound in Jomtien until it has been adopted rather than just looking to get the council to round them up and kill them.

I'd rather see some useless farrangs rounded up and shipped out myself
