  1. I use these and they work OK.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/T120-Greneds-Electronic-Water-Timer-Solar-Charge-RainStop-1Year-Warranty-/181280466530?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item2a35286662

I have't had to hand water my plants in 8 months.

Only problem is I used cheap hose disconnects and they cracked so water was flowing out on the input side.

No fault with the timer itself but make sure you use sturdy fittings.

Similar are sold in Homeworks....I found out yesterday.....900 baht. True Value have one with 2 outlets.....4650 baht!

2x900 sounds better than 1x4650 and twice the capacity as well!

And they have the audacity to call it "true value" :-)

  2. Went my local scooter pimping shop, he knows what it is and he sells them for 230thb but they're out of stock

Found one on eBay for 100thb with free delivery lol

    http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/400700145797?nav=SEARCH

Would you trust your life with a 100thb Chinese brake light module ?

The American made ones have much thicker cables although they cost a fair bit more they may be able to provide more voltage to the lights ? (i don't know anything electrical work)

  3. Looks like I'll be going to Singapore for a short meeting in the coming days

I've heard helmets are cheaper there so I'll probably get a spare for when mine eventually gets stolen again lol

Is there anything else worth bringing back or anyone know any good shops to check out?

Might get a chain and sprockets too if it works out cheaper and a few bike decorations :)

  4. Guess you mean such an effect? A video in Thai found on this website:

    http://www.jrmotor.com/light-box.html

They seem to call it: ไฟ แอ็คชั่น เบรค (fai action break)

The only Thai word is "faI" for light.

The other two are Thai transcript from the English words and sound similar tongue.png

Probably it is added "on off switch".

In Thai: สวิทซ์ ปิด เปิด (sawit pit phoet) where "sawit" is transcript for switch, sounding quite different tongue.png

So this should help: ไฟ แอ็คชั่น เบรค สวิทซ์ ปิด เปิด

That is a horribly unsafe (and illegal) product. I was behind one of these guys the other day. I found it distracting and actually made it more difficult to intuit his intentions when there are so many other things demanding my attention. Every time he braked I had to look closely to see if he was turning or braking. Idiotic product.

The ones that flash 2 or 3 times then stay on are a brilliant idea. It removes the need for me to tap the breaks a couple times before applying them, which I often do whether in a car or on a bike.

That's actually pretty cool if you watch it right to end where the lights go crazy lol

But I had in mind something a bit more simple

The lights give say 4 flashes in a second or so then stay on solid until I release the breaks so anyone behind me half asleep or drunk in a merc might notice me when I'm trying to slow down for a u turn in Lane 3/4 etc

I've been missed by a hair or two more time than I can count to I intend to increase my rear visibility as much as I can

I also am not fond of the brake mods that flash the brakes constantly whether the bike is moving or not, <deleted> is the point of that in terms of overall safety?

If it flashes all the time people will learn to ignore it aka whistles in car parks etc

  5. I have a 'Back Off' brake-light modulator made by Signal Dynamics- I got it through eBay shipped to LOS for (iirc) less than 2K- my dealer installed it, but I don't think it was a big deal to set up.

It has two flashing options- one flashes four times and then stays on (which I use) and another repeats the flashing sequence.

    SBRKL02.jpg

thats almost exactly the thing i want lol

id just rather buy it and get it fitted today or tomorrow than order online and wait

    im impatient :)

  6. best tyres i recall having on my ninja 650 were bridgestones

not many places sell them in bkk but they stuck the road like <deleted> glue

and even made the braking distances shorter

they were a very soft sticky compound ,cant remember the model number

they were already on it when i bought the bike

  7. One benefit of a new one is reliability.

The old ones are nice but how many Thai mechanics have had their paws on them?

I had a mechanic almost destroy my scooter, just changing out a tire. Stripped bolts, bolts missing, some bolts loose.

My swingarm was held on by one bolt that had backed out 50%.

    Almost killed me.

I'd like a new one with Ace handle bars, a cafe seat/tank, fender eliminator, lighting, big bore, cam, valves. ECU, exhaust & air filter.

for the price of all that you could be looking at much better bikes

265/285k +Ace handle bars, a cafe seat/tank, fender eliminator, lighting, big bore, cam, valves. ECU, exhaust & air filter.

for a bike with 23 hp and 40 year old technology is a bit insane (just slightly lol )

  8. anyone know where to get these in thailand ?

i see lots of young guys on scooters with them

but i dont know what its called in thai or where

    to get one

i imagine it will work the same on a larger bike

if anyones unfamiliar it works like when you hit the brakes it flashes quickly 4 times like a strobe light

and then stays on until you release the brakes

i will order one on ebay if i have to but they must be available in bkk because i see a lot of them around

  9. Batteries can go on almost no notice, for 400ish I would exchange it for a new one after your kinda use

I have been scammed by kawasaki into buying new batteries at 1900 per time but I can't tell you the details because it would be illegal to criticise their biz under Thai law

Pit it this way, I sent a bike in a brand new battery to get fixed fairing from a collision

When collect it it can't start, only solution! 1900 for a new

    This happened twice

After that I said those Xxxxxxxxxx will never touch my bike again and I will Emsil Japan to let them know how they are being represented in thailand ymmv

  10. We can cert5ainly offer 1st Class (comprehensive) insurance for your 3 year old bike

May I suggest you PM us with the bikes year of registration and value please ?

Thanks for the quotes for my bike

Its an excellent service you do here

I will choose one of them after comparison of what's included and what isn't obviously because the numbers in relation to cover of wildly between Co and Co etc

Thsnk you for taking the time to respond me and if you have any personal recommendation fell free to pm me

    Yip

  11. Coolest home built I've seen in a while

.... It's amazing that nobody is selling these things commercially or from a major manufacturer etc

    What is the cc,?

    What does it weigh lol?

Amazing feat of engineering either way.....

If he hasn't trademarked and patented that vehicle he should ASAP

  12. i was out of the country for awhile and my insurance expired so i need a new fully comprehensive package

i had used the kawa dealership partner (is it falcon / locton ? HQ in silom 35th floor iirc ) but we had a dispute over the repairs after an accident

and they only agreed to pay for partial repairs on 1st class policy so i will never use them again

i would like to use another company if there is one ,not many do big bikes esp 2nd hand

i have called a few (in thai ) if that matters and not really getting anywhere bar asia insurance who want to sell me a package that covers up to 10k

to my bike per crash and 300k to the third party for 1699 cheesy.gif

is there anybody out there that sells reasonable insurance ?

  13. ^

uuuuuhhh we are on TV bike forum level again, i missed it, really clap2.gif

They are not trying to sell it, they sell it very well worldwide. And that since 35 years. Why not just go to the threads with bikes you are interested in?

It is a cool looking bike and very simple, so why is it so expensive, it should be 100k baht easy, they are obviously cashing in on the retro look?

But, it is a tiny little bike merely copying a much bigger 1960's Triumph Bonneville, so unless you are a Thai or Japanese and/or 14 years old, I don't get it.

I'd say a fashionable, reliable, easy to ride, 'reasonably' priced bike (for LOS) that doesn't leave you dripping in sweat at a red light light is sometimes preferable to a big, heavy, expensive alternative from Triumph.

265k baht is a steal compared to Triumph pricing. And it's much more practical in the city so I can understand why young Thai Hipsters would buy this before remortgaging their condo for a Triumph Bonneville. There is no real alternative for a classic style bike at that price point unless you look at the Chinese imports.

JonnyF said it very well. With one exception, its not only thai hipsters who love this bike.

buy one then ............or i suppose youd only cough up for a chinese copy from your previous posts ....coffee1.gif

  14. Will the SRs retain a higher resale value that the above mentioned competitors I wonder?

Of course. And people will still love the SR when these plastic ricecookers are long forgotten. Makes no sense to compare the SR with the a Ninja 650, Er6n or an inline four. The intentions to buy a SR are totally different. Its like getting drunk with Lao Khao or spending the money for a bottle of good red wine wink.png

for someone who farts around on 50k bikes your opinion carries little value when were talking close to 300k for an underspeced underteched

bike that isnt worth nearly the money theyre trying to sell it for but every village has got one ;)

  15. Is they're any definitive list on which exhsusts are legal in Thai and which not?

I have difficulty understanding the law on this matter as it includes decibels as well as emissions AFAIK and there's no easy way to test that conclusively with no tools at. Home and they're are hundreds of pipes available.... :(

  16. Post removed.

Please do not make illegal suggestions.

There is nothing illegal in carrying multiple licences as long as they are all valid

After 3 consecutives months one should have a Thai licence to stay on the legal side but that's rarely if ever enforced in my lifetime

An American or euro licence is normally fine for any infringement but nobody knows for sure now the army is implementing changes or making the police do some police work etc lol

  17. I think there are one too many zeros in that price tag, or perhaps it is the price in Vietnam in Dong? Utter madness, it's a small cheap bike with only one cylinder, a Honda Wave with a rebore.

I think you got the nail on the head this time, its just too less for 265-285k

You could have a ninja 650abs, Er6n or with a few dollars more a 4cl honda 650 or even a versys all brand new with way superior tech

Ok for a grandad in the village but I cant see a biking afficionado paying the best part of 300k for 1

Its cool and is retro but half the price or slightly more would be easily achieved if they wanted to be a bit less greedy
