Thai gold surges past 80,000 baht
It is quite possible that the Swiss franc has been manipulated, but as a European, I still prefer it ten times more than the euro.

Thai gold surges past 80,000 baht
No one knows where it will end, but I have read that these high prices have already forced some gold shops to close. I also saw reports that if you want to sell gold, you have to wait one to two weeks before you get paid.

Anyone bought a "bonded leather" office chair?
Yes, although I am no longer a fan of Ikea, I must admit that some of their office chairs are of good quality. I bought one there more than 10 years ago with fabric upholstery, and it is still in excellent condition. At the time, a 10-year warranty was provided on the mechanism.

71-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed by Motorcycle Near Footbridge
Yes, pedestrian bridges are a nice idea, but they are a disaster for older people who have to walk up and down those stairs, especially in the intense heat that is often present.

Three Dogs Attack Four Pupils at School, One Seriously Hurt
As long as in this country, what's it called again, oh yes, LOS, as long as dogs are considered sacred, nothing will change. And I call it a disaster, seeing so many dogs running loose every day.

Belgian Man Claims Thai Hospital Detention Over Unpaid Bill
How do you get it out of your throat? "Driving in Thailand is safer than you think". After nearly 30 years of experience in LOS, I dare to claim the opposite. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that I have nearly 30 years of driving experience here. And another 30 years in Europe, well, your turn again.

Samui Bridge Plan Framed as Economic Opportunity for the South
That bridge will not improve things for the residents of that island. Phuket is a striking example. But given the large span, I wonder if that bridge will ever be built.

Thai Immigration Hits Back at Viral Airport Queue Claims
Well, you can complain about long waiting times at immigration, but all in all, I have to wait longer for my luggage. Suppose you get through immigration in five minutes, then there's a good chance you'll have to wait another 45 minutes for your suitcase.

Will I get problems when entering Thailand by plane next time?
At the beginning of this month, I asked a question about someone entering on a tourist visa, with whom I want to take a 5-day trip to Malaysia a week later, by car, then back to Thailand, and that person will then leave Thailand for 2 weeks, so everything within a period of 25 days. I was told that I would need a T.M.8 form for this, including a payment of 1000 THB. Now I see under “Notice To Tourists” that this is not necessary at all and that a tourist visa is sufficient. Or am I overlooking something?

From Gridlock to Glide: Phuket Trials Airport–Patong Boat Taxis
I remember that too. A few years later, the bypass road was created, but it took them several months to carve out a section of the mountain. Back then, everything was still fairly quiet, and when I read that it can take up to three hours to get from the airport to Patong, I'm glad I don't have to use it anymore. After all, if I remember correctly, the distance is no more than 40 to 50 kilometres.

Navy Seizes Tanker With 10,000 Litres of Diesel
So it was almost empty, which is what 10,000 litres of diesel is for a ship like that.

Missing Swiss Man With Alzheimer’s Found 250km From Home
I'm glad the man was found, but if I had someone in my family with Alzheimer's who wandered off and I couldn't find them within an hour, the first thing I would do is report them missing to the police. Or have I missed something? When he was elderly, my brother-in-law also had Alzheimer's. He was in a facility where all the doors were locked with a code. His first symptoms were that he started putting his shoes in the refrigerator.

Stricter New Year Controls on Fireworks, Lanterns, Gunfire
The government is once again busy keeping an eye on all those citizens, on the road, in all the streets, even in their homes? That won't be long now, thanks to the internet.

Migrant Crisis: 150,000 Refugees Detained in Major Crackdown!
“ Screw the EU" – I agree with that. But have you ever wondered how many people in that same EU feel the same way and are, in a sense, being held back by those same rulers? Perhaps you have noticed, for example, the violent riots by farmers in Belgium, France and Germany, who are also fiercely opposed to the EU, but once again, those in power are wiping their backsides with those protests. Incidentally, don't underestimate the Turks with their Erdogan, they are playing a very dirty game.

Eazy FM and Goodtime Radio to Cease Broadcasting by Yearend
It does not surprise me that with the internet we have now, the same thing will happen to regular television broadcasts, which are no longer relevant in this day and age.

Bangkok Braces for New Year Pollution Surge - Poor Ventilation
Yes, and specifically with regard to healthcare, is that still being promoted at the airport?

British Man Foils Gold Necklace Snatch in Bangkok Street
That says enough about those people. I wouldn't even dare to do that in my own country, let alone in a country where you are a guest. But these gentlemen don't care about that. A few years in a Thai prison cell wouldn't hurt.

Thai Party Plans to Axe 1,000 and 500 Baht Notes
And when you want to sell it, what then? A piece of 10 baht, that's 6,600 100 baht notes.

Well, that party is doing its very best to get as few votes as possible, so keep it up, lads and lasses.
