Report IKEA Goes Cashless at Key Thai Stores Amid Mixed Reactions
Peterphuket replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I admit, it becomes searching and have bought stuff there regularly but since that higher price experience, I don't come there anymore. Recently I was surprised again, needed a new mattress and knew from about 2 years ago that they had a latex mattress for the price of 20000 Thb, now that same mattress has doubled in price and costs 40000 THB. -

Regarding driving up prices, that is correct, from the beginning when Ikea started in Thailand the prices were reasonable and in line with Thailand's pricing policy. After 2 or 3 years when they were assured of sales and revenue, prices went up by 20% on average for no reason. Due to the fact that their head office is in the Netherlands, I complained about this, but arrogantly I was referred back to Thailand. -

Apart from Amazon, which has reasonable to good coffee, I otherwise have no positive experience with Thai coffee. -

It's a matter of taste, used an expresso machine here for years but stopped using it because I can't get good coffee here, there used to be expresso from DE but after covid no longer available, and do you know what I drink now? Instant coffee from Nestlé. -

Overpriced? This week I was in the Makro, Moccona is more than 30% more expensive. There I have little hope that Thailand will allow it, how about Aldi and Lidl, with that they are throwing up their own glasses, not going to happen. Incidentally, I have noticed that many foreign companies are now all Thai-owned, think Lotus, Makro and many others. -

Yes, now that you mention it, but are you aware that this figure was appointed this week as a temporary replacement for the president of the WEF? That also says it all, I think. -

They have since found out after years that most were asleep during the film screening, and have now come to the conclusion that it does not bring down the number of road casualties. -

Until you find out that her battery is really dead, what will you do then? If it is a lithium battery it should never be discharged to 100%.... -

The most obvious is that Ali is an Algerian or of Algerian descent, after all it was a French colony for years. -
Love making these things myself, meanwhile I make my own croquettes here, following a recipe from my mother, (recipe is over 70 years old)

You can also make the ‘Leverkaas’ yourself if you have a food processor. Or roast mince, see photo. You could also try ‘Dutch Cheese’ by Gerrit Hoekstra Dutchcheese4you.shop

I'm confused - Using a Visa Agent
Peterphuket replied to Ken Kenobi's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That's a late response but it just so happens that I found an agent in BKK who does everything for 19,000, and don't have to show up at the immigration office myself. Still I have my doubts, get a new passport next month and have to send it with the old passport, bankbook, photos to the agent there, it seems a bit risky to me, suppose the envelope gets lost.... -

All things considered, I wonder if they still want farangs in LOS.... What a world we live in, controlle, controlle and more controlle, and those who take advantage of this know their way around. -
Tourist Brawl on Phuket’s Bangla Road Sparks Online Outrage - video
Peterphuket replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
As a former resident, having lived there for 11 years, from 1999 to 2010, I agree with you completely. My son wanted to go back again in 2023 have visited him then, but never again for me either, unfortunately. Destroyed by the people you described but also because of the unbridled building lust of the property developers. -
