I was sorry Tim didn't give an update on Yosemite, especially since they had previously said it would be a fall release
I'm not an Apple person, and just read some quick blogs on the new products, but wasn't yesterdays announcement geared only towards mobile products?
-
This thread fizzled out quick. Looks like Apple is releasing a bigger phone to compete with the Note and other large phones. Gear VR looks interesting.
Judging by the lackluster new phone features this year, I'm guessing the Nexus 6 will be a bit faster, with a bit better screen, with a bit larger battery. And it will come with Android L.
-
Yes, it is historic (for Apple) because it will be the largest phone they have ever produced in the history of the company.
Dang, I wish I was wrong and there was something historic. Bigger screen will be nice for the Apple crowd.
Now we just have to wait and see what the Nexus 6 and/or 10 will bring us.

They already had a wearable though...the ipod nano

As an Android user, I am excited to see what Apple announces next week. I hope there is some new innovation. This year has been pretty disappointing so far. Everything has just been slightly improved. I'm looking for a new killer feature.
I'm also curious about the Samsung Gear VR. Just a few months to wait for it to be available at retail outlets. Otherwise I was mostly disappointed by all the IFA announcements this week

A great place to meet ladies

The loops go through your belt and this pouch goes inside your trousers. Works great.

It will be interesting to see what they pull up!

Anyways, no mainstream news have reported this "news" or "leak". ibtimes is garbage
But we will find out next week. I'm definately excited for all the announcements!

Nexus is supposed to be a mainstream phone. 5.9 inches in not mainstream. That is bigger than the Note.
Also 50 million out of 1 billion (As of Sep 2013) is only 5%. So 95% of people do not have a Note.

good idea for a thread but ruined by a few innapproriate posts. Humans are not home appliances

Yep, private clubs. That's my guess if this is actually enforced.
I actually posted this earlier, post #273, so I agree.

Yeah mogo, it's right around there. They are pretty quick compared to busses also.

I have to admit, this has raised my eyebrows. So last call for alcohol is midnight? Wow, this has taken me by surprise. Not to be a kill joy, is drinking in public next as I"d thought they would do this before what has been mentioned?
Interesting to see where this goes..
Last call would NOT be midnight. It says no consumption of alcohol after midnight at a bar or restaurant. So at 11:59pm you would need to dump your drink on the ground or risk a ticket.
I forsee private member's only clubs, where you pay 100 baht for a one night membership which gives you one free beer.

No no no. Not allowed a good spin on it. Has to be anti farang and bad for tourism. Booking a flight out on internet as I type.At first I was shocked and couldn't believe it. Then I calmed myself down and re-read the text on the website. It actually doesn't look that bad. It is basically just removing alcohol advertising.
Oh, I'm not putting a good spin on it. I'm just saying, "Cheer up guys, it's not that bad". It's bad, but it's not doomsday worthy, or moving to Cambodia worthy.

So how can we find out when its Happy Hours when the staff are not allowed to talk about it and no signs ?
The staff and signs will just say "Welcome to Balo bar. We have promotions every day from 3pm-6pm."

This will not really effect the common person. You will see less advertisements for alcohol. You will not see the beer girls or staff wearing beer tshirts. You will not see Singha logos on team uniforms. Really, that's about it. There will still be happy hours, you just won't see signs advertising happy hours. You can still wear your Chang tank top (unless you work at a bar/restaurant). You can still buy alcohol at nearly everywhere that you used to (except for those sidwalk bars that spring up at 1am). The only thing that looks worrisome, is no alcohol consumption after midnight at bars or restaurants.

ibtimes has been wrong many times in the past, so take this whole thread with two grains of salt.
Also 5.9 inches is way too big for a phone screen. I doubt that the next Nexus phone will be that big.

Never heard of data base on computer?Don't wish to argue, but I am one of many now at home after having a tourist visa application refused because of too many back to back tourist visas.
Get a new passport.
Sure he has but is immigration going to interrogate the database every time they see a new passport?
You mean type in a number and press Enter?

Serious question....don't you worry about land mines?

I guess you missed the memo a few years ago. It's closed. A new Night Bazaar was opened at Suk 101

Well that guy was asking for tower loations so he could pick the best antenna for him, that's why I commented.
I love HD
-
Pib that's not entirely true. If all of the broadcast towers are due west of your location, pointing a directional antenna east is not going to work. At my summer cottage, we have to have it within a few degrees to get the signal. The towers at our cottage are nearly 40 miles away. In the USA we use http://www.antennaweb.org/
An omnidirectional antenna may work, but not as good as a directional antenna if all the towers are located in the same direction from your house. We went through several antennas, in several locations in the house before we found a combination that worked decent.
I would start with rabbit ears first and see how that goes. If you ask some other people in the village about tower locations or ask them what antenna they are using, that may help. If you live 20km outside of town, there's a good chance that the tower will be in the town and you can just point a directional antenna towards the town.
Just keep in mind there is no such thing as an "HDTV antenna". An antenna is an antenna. Don't let a shop try to charge you extra for an HD antenna as opposed to a regular antenna.
Five Thai products may not be removed from US child, forced labour abuse watch lists

This watch list is about child labor and forced labor, so the materials produced apparently must feature children or forced labor. Why does that seem strange?
