  1. Yeah, the domestic routes are ridiculous (and the highspeed rail isn't cheap once you start heading over 200km). Surprised that Tianjin doesn't have direct flights, but maybe it's because Beijing is so close. 🤔 I know there are direct flights from Qingdao and Xi'an and those are much smaller than Tianjin. It might also have to do with Thais visiting those cities more often (Thai consulates in both Qingdao and Xi'an so I assume there are sizable Thai populations in those cities - not sure about Tianjin)
  2. It's cheaper to fly to Thailand than to fly within China 🤣 You must be in smaller city if you don't have any direct flights.
  3. For such an "authoritarian" state, China seems really inefficient at persecution and/or genocide as claimed by some, since there are millions of Uyghurs currently going about their business in China. 🤔 Is there any possibility that these 40 might have been up to something else which is why the left (fled) China? No? Ok then.
  4. Rather than informing us that hotspots exist (i.e. fires are burning), then initiating legal actions (which for all we know is a cop driving to the location of a fire and saying "Yep, someone made an illegal fire here") and stating this as some anti-burning measure, wouldn't it make sense to reallocate some military and another highly "important" institutes budgets' funds to supply farmers with land clearing/prep equipment for free and/or with subsidies for non-burning compliance?
  5. Hi everyone, Just looking for some information on "good" schools in Hua Hin. The kiddies are conversational in Thai but have little to none reading/writing skills. Hoping to pay no more than 25k Baht per kid (2) per month if possible. Appreciate the feedback. To add: we are very flexible in where kids can go (I work out of country), so if you have recommendations in central, north, east etc.,also welcome👌
  6. This is false - it is clearly a PR/Marketing stunt. The AI's didn't suddenly "realise" anything: If this was a genuine interaction, the camera would not have been ready to record it. Furthermore, Boris Starkov's number begins with 555- i.e. the preferred dialing code used in entertainment/marketing etc.
  7. And here I thought Islam was a religion. You learning something new every day. 🤔
  8. Shouldn't that be forum's or forums', depending on whether you refer to AN as the forum or each sub-forum separately. Either way, it's nice to see you leading from the front with the excitement induced typing errors you speak of. Pot, meet Kettle 🤣
  9. Thailand just LOVES laws that are overly-complicated: gambling being case in point. Gambling as a whole has never been illegal in Thailand, since one could gamble on horses and buy lottery tickets (basically gambling). Now they want to legalise gambling for two specific sports. But where is the logic in that - how is someone gambling on football more accepted than someone gambling on golf? Just make it legal across the board and use some of the tax revenue to set up support campaigns/institutes for those that suffer from addiction.
  10. My passport does not have that, so I do tend to take my old passport along when updating things (Don't remember them (DLT) asking for it last time, but then again it was a small provincial DLT sonthey don't deal with many foreigners)
  11. Got it - in hindsight, I should've just let my TDL expire then last year (I renewed early on the visa-exempt) and done the 5 year licence this year) 🤣. Anyway - much appreciated again. Cheers 🫡
  12. Great to hear - appreciate the info. Thanks Dr.Jack! COR was easy enough last time so looks like plain sailing dor the 5 year. Final question then: my 2 year expires next year 2026 - would I be able to renew it for the 5 year this year (around 14 months before expiry)?
  13. Non-O (mentioned in the title 🙂) Do you mind elaborating on the stamping process at arrivals please - Does it say "Non-O" in my passport or do I need to take the email confirmation/proof with me to the DLT?
  14. Last year when I headed back to Thailand my 5 year licence was only renewed for 2 years since I entered on visa-exempt (I had hoped that after doing the initial 2 year then 5 year licence, all subsequent licences would be 5 years 🤔) However, the traffic officer told me to come back next time with a visa and she'd give me 5. So I now learn that one can apply for an E-visa and receive the visa via email. However, I assume that at immigration they check the E-visa validity and then stamp the correct number of days. So how will traffic department verify the visa? Do they just check the email and believe that, or is it the fact that the IO at arrival in BKK gives you a special "Non-O" stamp? Thanks in advance for any info.
  15. Makes it sound like a rare cancer or something. How? Unless the mother was never around which is alluded to by mention of only her husband and father helping her. Look, I feel sorry for the lady's discomfort, but she might have some psychological issue which leads to excessive overeating - there's no "rare mystery" to how a person becomes this large. It's eating...a lot.
  16. That's the one I saw (north of Soi 7) which would've scuppered my plans. Using my phone so misread the the ©2025 as the photo date 🤣
  17. Thanks for all the replies. We'll be staying north of Soi 7 near the Thappraya Rd./Dongtan beach corner so looks like we'll be unaffected.
  18. Hi, I just checked out the streetview for Jomtien and it seems there is (was?) a lot lf construction blocking access to the beach. It's hard to know when the streetview was take (dated 2025). Any local update regarding the state of construction along the beach road greatly appreciated.
  19. Nah, it just means that now there will be 7 people checking your re-entry permit application at Chaengwattana, rather than the current 4 🙃
  20. I honestly can't remember the last time I did a TM6 🤔 3 trips in the past 15 months. I seem to recall asking for one on a plane and the flight attendant said they weren't needed anymore. Am I going crazy? Edit to add: I enter using the Thai queue (not a Thai citizen though), so maybe that's why they don't ask for it?
  21. Ah yes, the modern generation, where the consequences of your own decisions make you a victim.
  22. Maybe they were recalling conversations they had earlier in the day where this weird foreigner was walking around shoving photos in their faces asking them "What do you call them in Thai?" 🤣
  23. This is a dumb comparison - total false equivalency. A better comparison would be the following: would you rather A) put a child in a car X amount of times (like many do every year), or B) let a child crawl under an elephant X amount of times? My kids have been in cars thousands of times, but I wouldn't let them under an elephant once (let alone thousands of times). Why - because the one interaction carries way more short-term inherent danger to my children due to the size and strength of an elephant.
  24. I have just gotten off the phone with a KBank rep - she confirmed that NOTHING will happen to the status of my account (lack of access; mobile banking etc.) if I do not return the form. However, she did say that next time I updated my phone number or passport at a Kbank branch they might ask if I have Thai TIN. I am not a US-Citizen so her answer was based on this.
