New Online Entry Requirement for UK Travelers to Thailand
SABloke replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I agree, but this will cause so many problems since I suspect many travellers (new and returning ones) will not know about this QR code until check-in. Then they will be like "Can I do it now quickly please?" "No, sorry, you were supposed to do it 3 days ago" totally FUBAR. -
New Online Entry Requirement for UK Travelers to Thailand
SABloke replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Will there be a paper option on arrival for people that aren't aware of this requirement? When one travels to a visa exempt country, one generally doesn't do as much searching online as when one is going to a place that has visa requirements etc. For example, the first time I flew to Thailand I had not heard of the TM6 until the air hostess gave it to me - had I been required to print out and bring my own (equavalent of doing the digital one now) I would've been screwed. -

Earthquake Rocks Bangkok: Building Collapses with 40 people inside

Suppose? It literally did - what you on about? Have you looked at a map recently? Chiang Mai was hit before Bangkok since it's closer to the epicentre. -

Edit as misread response -
If true - why though? Tackle that issue then as a nation. There are many poor people in Africa, South America and Europe, and those people manage to vote in countries requiring ID. Also, why poor AND ethnic minorities - aren't Americans with Indian heritage like the richest group of people in the USA? Or do you just think poor that ethnic minorities can't find their ID's and/or remember their SS numbers?

Thai Coconut Brand Faces Copycat Controversy in China
SABloke replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Pepsi and Est Cola are "visually similar" too - nobody crying foul there. If they have a different name, taste different, and look different, they are not "counterfeit" adjective counterfeit (adjective) made in exact imitation of something valuable with the intention to deceive or defraud: "counterfeit £10 notes" -
Thailand's Global Education Ranking Sparks Controversy and Scrutiny

However, had the same survey listed Thailand as No.1 in the world, these officials would be clamouring for photo ops and taking all the credit 🙄- 110 replies

Thailand Gears Up: Discussions Underway for Formula One Event
SABloke replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Didn't know they had a street circuit. Just looked it up - seems like a decent track. I would agree with you then - good location (better than Burieam or downtown bangkok) -
Thailand Gears Up: Discussions Underway for Formula One Event
SABloke replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I genuinely think Samui would be a great location for a race - it's got almost everything needed: airport, hotels, scenery, less dodgy than Pattaya (missing a racetrack but street race could work) -

All the articles about this are all referencing other sources - such excellent reporting. It's all hearsay from what I can see - nobody is actually providing what was found on the person's phone/computer. However, one article states " I doubt that he only wrote "I hate Trump" or similar if they described it as "terrorism" - then again, this same news outlet is quoting "a source", so this could also be BS.

Iranian tourist goes crazy! Uses syringe to stab hotel staff in Phuket
SABloke replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Sherlock, is that you? Seriously, your powers of deduction are immense - hell, you even helped me to understand that I am a YouTuber, I never knew. Thank you 🤪 -
The only consequence you will face is that that school will probably not hire you in the future, and if you used some agent, the agent is gonna be pissed. However, the world of teaching in Thailand is small - send a nicely worded professional email stating that you are unable to join in June, appreciate their time, apologise for the inconvenience etc.

High Airfares in Thailand Set to Stay as Demand Stays High
SABloke replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yeah, the domestic routes are ridiculous (and the highspeed rail isn't cheap once you start heading over 200km). Surprised that Tianjin doesn't have direct flights, but maybe it's because Beijing is so close. 🤔 I know there are direct flights from Qingdao and Xi'an and those are much smaller than Tianjin. It might also have to do with Thais visiting those cities more often (Thai consulates in both Qingdao and Xi'an so I assume there are sizable Thai populations in those cities - not sure about Tianjin) -

It's cheaper to fly to Thailand than to fly within China 🤣 You must be in smaller city if you don't have any direct flights. -
U.S. Rejects Thai Claims on Lack of Uyghur Resettlement Offers
SABloke replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
For such an "authoritarian" state, China seems really inefficient at persecution and/or genocide as claimed by some, since there are millions of Uyghurs currently going about their business in China. 🤔 Is there any possibility that these 40 might have been up to something else which is why the left (fled) China? No? Ok then. -
Hot Spot Surge in Forests: Thailand's New Anti-Burning Measures
SABloke replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Rather than informing us that hotspots exist (i.e. fires are burning), then initiating legal actions (which for all we know is a cop driving to the location of a fire and saying "Yep, someone made an illegal fire here") and stating this as some anti-burning measure, wouldn't it make sense to reallocate some military and another highly "important" institutes budgets' funds to supply farmers with land clearing/prep equipment for free and/or with subsidies for non-burning compliance? -
Hi everyone, Just looking for some information on "good" schools in Hua Hin. The kiddies are conversational in Thai but have little to none reading/writing skills. Hoping to pay no more than 25k Baht per kid (2) per month if possible. Appreciate the feedback. To add: we are very flexible in where kids can go (I work out of country), so if you have recommendations in central, north, east etc.,also welcome👌

This is false - it is clearly a PR/Marketing stunt. The AI's didn't suddenly "realise" anything: If this was a genuine interaction, the camera would not have been ready to record it. Furthermore, Boris Starkov's number begins with 555- i.e. the preferred dialing code used in entertainment/marketing etc.

British Man Arrested in Thailand After 25-Year Visa Overstay

Shouldn't that be forum's or forums', depending on whether you refer to AN as the forum or each sub-forum separately. Either way, it's nice to see you leading from the front with the excitement induced typing errors you speak of. Pot, meet Kettle 🤣
