Condo pool close here at Hillside Plaza 4 in Chiang Mai. I showed them the scientific paper that no Covid transmission has occurred in swimming pools, but they don't care. At same time the guards a the elevator don't confront individuals getting on the elevators without masks. What happens here may be well-deserved. BTW, I do confront

This is what pisses me off about this incompetent sporting- It says the entry requirements vary from province to province so one needs to check for the latest information. But it doesn't give any links. Because really, nobody's in charge. The inmates are running the asylum .

First of all, your post is way too long. Second of all I just got mine a couple of days ago. If you wanna make the trip to chiang mai you won’t have any problems, Except They will give you a 15 day extension and then you come back in 15 days to get the rest of the 60 day extension so that will mean two trips.

I will relate to my experience leaving Korea for Thailand November 19. I had the same situation, negative test report in English but everything else in Korean language. I had given it to the embassy the day before and they said nothing. I left for the airport about five hours before my flight, and got an email saying I needed to go to a branch of the hospital where it would be printed out in English, which I was able to do and still make my flight. I don’t know if they have become more relaxed about the policy now or not.

I saw a video of te government quarantining Thais being repatriated here, being put two to a tent outdoors, no AC. Nobody, tourist orwhatever, is going to want to send 14 days in those conditions. And they will keep quarantining arrivals for an indefinite period of time. Herei s a link- just substitute Thaiand wherever America is used, and it will fit. There is a better solution - Quarantining works in other countries, it can work in America- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrDLNvUWubk

I recommend Greenpeace organize a petition drive for Chiang Mai. The petition will be addressed to the national and local government officials. It will note that individual livelihoods are being threatened because of climate change and the worsening of air quality, which is driving people away from northern Thailand. The petition will demand govenrnmental action. Volunteers will go door to door to businesses in Chiang Mai and explain the petition and request individuals sign. Major news outlets will also be informed of this. Southeast Asia is on fire, and the present course of inaction will lead to greater misery.

I am aware that formally AQI represents a function of different pollutants, but the AQI number reported on the AQI website reflects the highest pollutant. For 4 pm today, Jan 9, the AQI number reported 142. If you look below at the graph, you will see the pm 2.5 number is 142. https://aqicn.org/city/chiang-mai/

Today at 13:28 January 9 2019 my Xiaomi AirPurifier is consistently reading in the 180-250 range. The AQI website lists ranges of 110 -152 for the 2 stations near me. That seems a large diiference.

Most of the cities in that top 10 support tens of millions people each and have huge industrial complexes that form the backbone of their respective economies.
What's Chiang Mai's excuse for being in that list?
Lack of political will, lack of accounibility, lack of looking into the future, seeing how their turism-dependent economy can't survive while it is killing people.

Interesting interpretation, do you work for the government by chance?
It's unlikely that AQI readings consistently above 150 for the last 24 hours are related to fog, which has not once in my lifetime given me a headache, scratchy throat, and itchy eyes.
More likely, it's that somewhere (nearby?) the forests are a raging inferno and we're reaping the "benefits".
I agree!! But probably a multitude of factors, Air inversion, burning, vehicle emissions.

I find it surprising that the press has not done any articles about the cost of pollution on Thailand's economy, specifically the tourism industry. I am reminded of a friend who bought facebook at its IPO, but then sold it a few weeks later when the price dropped, only to kick himself when it began it's continued upward trajectory. If he had not sold, he would have been $500,000USD richer. People told him, do not think about this as $500,000 you lost, as you never had this money. Maybe that is how Thailand's leaders think. But the truth is, you are losing money. I know many foreigners who would love to extend their stay here, but the worsening air quality makes it unreasonable to do so.
If a foreigner spends 60,000 TB per month, and cuts their stay here by 2 months, that is 120,000 TB. Let us add to that the number of people who would be visiting Thailand during those months, outside of the ones prolonging their stay. What number could that be? Unfortunately, it is difficult to impossible to get accurate statistics, as the bodies publishing those numbers have their own agenda to make the tourism industry appear to continue to e strong. But until that is possible, I will rely on common sense, and post the number as a loss of 10,000 tourists per month. So for a 2 month period that would entail a loss of 600 million TB. Today, December 27, the AQI in Chiang Mai is already 172, unhealthy. I have decided because of worsening climate changes, I will not invest in buying a condo in Chiang Mai, as my stays here will probably get shorter and shorter. Why doesn't any reporter show the courage to pose these questions to those in charge who do not appear to have the political will to tackle this problem.

I think this was a set-up, a fake news, because you do not see anybody in the seats. Maybe it was filmed before the funeral, or after, and maybe the music was dubbed in. Where are all the funeral goers?

You will be notified by email and the courier may even call you on the day for directions.
If you have questions RING Lazada, they speak good English and I am sure they will help you.
On their Contact Us page I do not see a phone number listed.

I go to try Lazada for for the first time. When I place my order they ask for my tax code. What is this? I live in a condo in Chang Khlan Chiang Mai, my postal code is 50100. They ask for my branch id. What is this? On top of this, the condo whee I live has an office, staffed ostensibly 9-5, but it is not uncommon for the person to step out. Does Lazada specify the day they deliver? if so, I will hang out and wait for them. So many questions, but every time i go to their chat line I get the message o agent is available and try later, but what I have read from online reports, their agents are extremely non-helpful. Any answets or suggestions appreciated.

Yes they made a mistake. Your local immigration office can correct the error.
Yes, I went to IO in today and initially they said I overstayed and when I pointed out my Tourist Visa they admitted to the mistake and Gave me the 30 dayI requested. Important lesson here, of course, do not take anything for granted. Check and double check.

I requested a 60 day multiple entry visa from the Thai Consulate in Chicago IL. I paid the $200, sent in my passport and was returned with the page size stamp. Now I am nearing my 60 day end, and I checked my passport and it said it expired after 30 days!!! I know now I should have checked, and will be going to the immigration office tomorrow, but my question is, did the immigration official at the airport in BKK where I arrived make a mistake and should have dated it for 60 days?

I did the run to Mae Sae successfully. However, what follows is how not to do it.
My NUMBER ONE recommendation, make your bus reservation o the Green Bus line from Chiang Mai several days in advance. Even if you are not sure if your travel date will change, i =I thnk it is worth it, even if you end up changing your plans. So, I show up at terminal 3 abut 90 minutes before bus to depart. Everything booked until later in the day but won't get me to the border in time most likely. So, I book a bus to Chiang Rai. NUMBER TWO: Then make the mistake of getting off at first Chiang Rai bus stop, (driver told me this was my stop),rather than the second one which is in a dirt lot in town. So I have to wait 20 minutes to take a songtaw into town. Then take a minivan into Mae Sae. Get out the minivan, approached by motorbike driver and he takes me to the border. NUMBER THREE: Make sure you get your arrival card for re-entry into Thailand when you go through Thai immigration. Other than that, the crossing went smooth and fast. Yes, law is now limiting to two 30 day overland visa entries/calendar year.

Sorry to keep bothering you, I just want to be 100% clear, - so if I go to Mae Sai I do not need a Myanmar visa or a valid visa for re-entry, as you wrote before when I was referring to going to Mai Sot, and Thailand will let me exit? Again, I appreciate your patience.

You would not be allowed to depart Thailand without a valid Thai visa for re-entry or a visa for Myanmar.
So since I am down tothe wire, it sunds like my only choice is to fly in out?

Just now, ubonjoe said:
I have not seen any reports that Mae Sot is allowing a crossing for a new visa exempt entry. You must have a valid visa for re-entry to do the crossing.
Mae Sai is allowing them now.
Thank you for your response. Sorry if I am a little dense, but let me ask to clarify- I won't be permitted back into Thailand unless I obtain a visa at an embassy in Myanmar?
