  1. Isn't it always a matter of money no matter where? I once described mr Newin as a sort of Roman emperor who give the people bread and games, but besides that, many people benefit from the track and stadium, creating many jobs for the locals.

The whole city and province are improving a lot and it's not only the Buriram's investment group which brings in the money.

For a change things happening around here ( which is good for me) instead of BKK. Let's see how long it lasts.

  2. For those interested and in the neighbourhood, here's the change to do some laps on Chang International Circuit in Buriram.

Saturday 14 February there's an event called Valentine's Fun Races a Bike Criterium 36.5 km ( 8 laps) is part of the programm ( besides some runs)

I recenty started cycling again and decided to participate, ( as a sportive archievement not to "race")

From what I've red and heard it's open for everyone, more info can be found on a local news site:

  3. Well, simple anwser:I believe the more choice the better, relevant or not, when manufactures/dealers don't see a future/market for them they will be discontuinued.

In the light off-road/motard section of the market 250's are still the only available/affordable choice ( KLX/CRF)

There I would love to see more choice: like you had in the past: the XL's, XT's, DR's and KLR's ( 250's 300's,250's, 400's, 500's,600's and even the infamous Dr BIG ( 800cc single)

But it looks like that kind of bigger singles are replaced by the various adventure bikes ( versys and the like) which are more road/tour orientated.

  4. I have already booked my hotel and am definitely going. I assumed there would be no problem buying tickets on the day to get in. Are they likely to be sold out? so should i buy them beforehand ?

I would say better safe then sorry, I yet have to see a sold out event at C.I.C but you never know, maybe a lot of international fans will attend.

It's the biggest event C.I.C is hosting.

Wise to have booked a hotel already, during the opening races last October all hotels in Buriram where full.

  5. For those in Thailand there's a 7/11 on almost every corner, for people abroad it might be an option to use an international ticket service but then prices might be higher.

C.I.C and it's organisation claims to be international but yet very poor PR/English.

One of the biggest International bike races are going to take place in Thailand and I have the feeling there not quite ready for it.

I'm sure things will be OK in March but C.I.C organisation has got some challenges to win.

I live near by and I'm very happy with the track and all the activities which take place there, although I'm a bit sceptical on there approch with PR etc ( e-mails never got anwsered, no clear contact info on their site and the list goes on )
