For those interested and in the neighbourhood, here's the change to do some laps on Chang International Circuit in Buriram.
Saturday 14 February there's an event called Valentine's Fun Races a Bike Criterium 36.5 km ( 8 laps) is part of the programm ( besides some runs)
I recenty started cycling again and decided to participate, ( as a sportive archievement not to "race")
From what I've red and heard it's open for everyone, more info can be found on a local news site:

As LL says try Nang Rong ( 60km from the track) a few nice hotels there.
But when you're into camping this might help:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Camping-29-Buriram/339311759573237?sk=info&tab=page_info
I remember that the Buriram United Organisation set up a camping in the old stadium during the opening races last October, looks quite organised, maybe they will do something similair in March.

Been to the "old" consulate 3 times and while there's not much to do in Savanakhet still enjoyed hanging out in that town. Maybe changing back into the "old" situation has also something to do with the local hotels/restaurants complaining about losing clientele.
Up for a new visa in a few months, which I will combine ( like I did last year) with a trip in Laos which is a great country!

What about the secondary codes used by Honda like : MC 19 / MC 22 / MC 28 / KW 6 / NC 23 / NC 35 etc etc
What about a MC 22 CBR2500RR
I'll like when a bike has a name: Ninja,Panigale, Katana, Nighthawk, Interceptor, Balckbird Mach, Goldwing, Jota to name a few, sounds better then those abreviations.

Well, simple anwser:I believe the more choice the better, relevant or not, when manufactures/dealers don't see a future/market for them they will be discontuinued.
In the light off-road/motard section of the market 250's are still the only available/affordable choice ( KLX/CRF)
There I would love to see more choice: like you had in the past: the XL's, XT's, DR's and KLR's ( 250's 300's,250's, 400's, 500's,600's and even the infamous Dr BIG ( 800cc single)
But it looks like that kind of bigger singles are replaced by the various adventure bikes ( versys and the like) which are more road/tour orientated.

I wonder what will happen with all those old Tiger police bikes, I know a local police station which has in the back dozens of old Police Kawasaki Victors ( 2T)
In Holland there are auctions for retired goverment vehicles.

On the sidestand view is obtructed by many poles, so I would not reccommend those, the Grandstand is my favourite and a bit high gives the best view
Here are a few different viewpoints: All the way in the top and somewhere in the middle ( both grandstand)
But the best views you will have with a pit pass :-)

I have already booked my hotel and am definitely going. I assumed there would be no problem buying tickets on the day to get in. Are they likely to be sold out? so should i buy them beforehand ?
I would say better safe then sorry, I yet have to see a sold out event at C.I.C but you never know, maybe a lot of international fans will attend.
It's the biggest event C.I.C is hosting.
Wise to have booked a hotel already, during the opening races last October all hotels in Buriram where full.

For those in Thailand there's a 7/11 on almost every corner, for people abroad it might be an option to use an international ticket service but then prices might be higher.
C.I.C and it's organisation claims to be international but yet very poor PR/English.
One of the biggest International bike races are going to take place in Thailand and I have the feeling there not quite ready for it.
I'm sure things will be OK in March but C.I.C organisation has got some challenges to win.
I live near by and I'm very happy with the track and all the activities which take place there, although I'm a bit sceptical on there approch with PR etc ( e-mails never got anwsered, no clear contact info on their site and the list goes on )

One problem I have with regular bike jackets is the 'Power Ranger' look.
Good for some folk but not me really.
Plus I could look well built without the gym time.
They look good on UMA

Isn't it always a matter of money no matter where? I once described mr Newin as a sort of Roman emperor who give the people bread and games, but besides that, many people benefit from the track and stadium, creating many jobs for the locals.
The whole city and province are improving a lot and it's not only the Buriram's investment group which brings in the money.
For a change things happening around here ( which is good for me) instead of BKK. Let's see how long it lasts.
