Holiday impressions and actually living/ riding here is a different thing. Thanks for sharing anyway
Thank you for your input.
I would be very interested in knowing what you feel is missing from what I have said compared to your far greater experience of Thailand Roads?
The abrivation T.I.T ( this is Thailand) says it all, after living here for several years most of us will agree, You're right on most of your points, but to changing that, won't happen anytime soon, it will take several decades to change people's attitude towards roadsafety. For now it's a lost cause.
Even though it's more dangerous on the roads then in most other countries in the world, I don't feel unsafe, common sense and good gear helps with that.
As far of the Thai concerns, it's their country let them do things there way.

Today was a day for my Daughter ( Children's day) but still had my dose of bikes, at the children's day party at Buriram International Circuit.
Surprised to see the H1 on Display which looks good in the flesh.
We left around 7PM and lot's and lot's of bikes were coming in for the Big Bike party with food and a concert.
Tommorrow I'll be back to check out the track day.

Is this a thread asking advice about webdesign or roadsafety in Thailand? LOL b.t.w 2 of the 3 links don't work for me.
As some posters wrote, Roadsafety ( or the lack of it) is what it is, and not much going to change,TIT It's still a great country to ride.

Average speed in Thailand is all depending on the road and area where you riding and what the rider feels as a comfortable and safe speed.
I ride a few different bikes, but never feel really safe cruising much faster then 110/120 but again it all depends on the road( surface) U-turns other roadusers etc. I rode quite some times from Buriram province to Chonburi province ( taking the 24 / 304 / 331) and that route allows higher speeds then local roads.
It's maybe me but there to many unknown factors down the road ( the mentioned, U-turns,animals on the loose, "strange behavior of other road users) which make me feel unconfortable riding at high speeds ( the occasional speed burst aside)
The way I ride ( and drive) in Thailand I call "the terminator mode" ( like the movie in which Arnie scans his surroundings)

Latest reports suggest bikes may leave Laos via the Friendship Bridge at Savannakhet but not enter Laos here. The same applies at Nakorn Phanom - Tha Kek. The situation is not definite and can change.
Safe travels.
Last May we ( 2 bikes) had a troublefree re-entry into Thailand over the friendshipsbridge @ Savannakhet. That trip started with entering over the friendship bridge at Nong Khai/Vientienne.
Red before bikes are not allowed entering Laos @ Mukdahan/Savannkhet. But this may depend on the "mood" of the day of the Immigration officers.

thanks,we hit some great twists and rolling hills in other parts ,but didn't have the camera running,we were not even stopping to take pics it was all about keeping the ride flowing.
Nowadays it looks like people are so focused on some kind of digital recording it looks like it is the sole purpose of a ride to show others were you have been.I'm not accussing anyone since I'm guilty as well ;-)
The beste rides are recorded in your memory and last forever.

Vid works for me, nice roads and good song :-)

Have a good and safe trip papa! Keep the reports and ( when possible pics) coming. As you know last May I took a trip into Laos , really loved the country, nice people, stunning scenery.

There's a active (sub) dealer in Buriram who sold quite some Dukes 200. I know, not very close to KK/Udon https://nl-nl.facebook.com/KtmBuriram
TOP the owner is a very friendly guy and speaks very good English ( he lived and worked several years in Australia)

Good info!!
Last May I had similar experiences and requirements entering Laos at Nong Khai.
With the proper paperwork ( as described above) a bit of patience and smiling all went smooth.
At Nong Khai you had to buy insurance after all formalities and nobody checked if we did.
DO NOT FORGET TO GET INSURANCE!! It will save you a lot of trouble in case something happens.

AllanB. How much are they? And where is local?
Also strange that a Yamaha dealer has Honda's in stock!
I think Allan is reffering to that dealer In KK which has got a lot of 2 stroke NOS bikes, mostly underbones ( the TZM's they had were sold out a while ago)
A NOS NSR150SP let alone 30 would be a opportunity I only can dream about :-)

Making a camping out of my garden was more of a joke then ment serious :-) ( although it's big enough)
But you're welcome to camp in my garden ( I'm a 30 minutes ride away from the track)
During the Super GT last October ( when all the Hotels were fully booked) the Buriram United organisation made a camping on the training fields.
btw LL2: this week I'm leaving for un unexpected trip to Holland and sadly won't be back in time for the trackday on the 6th of December. so I won't be able to say hi. Enjoy your day(s) in Buriram and keep the rubber side down.

Are 2 nice options, there building another Amari overlooking the track, but not sure it will be finished in March.
I recommend to book well in advance since I expect it will be busy, there are also a few resorts near the track/stadium.

I'm already there :-) Looking forward for that big event.
Maybe a business opportunity as well, make a bike camping in my garden 555
