  1. I've had to draw a map of how to find my house for the past two years, when I did my retirement extension, but so far, no visit. I do have a yellow tambien baan though, (which our village head man went with me to get, he signed to say that I DID live at my address), so perhaps that makes a difference ?

  2. You''ll have no problem, as long as you remember what the colours of the lights mean here :

Red means stop (except if you want to turn left, in which case you can sneak around the corner in between oncoming traffic) OR you are a very important person, in which case you ignore ALL laws.

Green means go (as fast as you can, dodging in between lanes, including motorcycle lanes, and ignoring the safety of other road users)

    Yellow means go faster....

  3. What idiot at TV came up with the idea of this poll ? Are you trying to give the PM ideas ? It's pretty obvious he hates farangs as it is !

How many of us on retirement visas can afford medical insurance here ? We were doing fine, when Yingluck's Government allowed us to register at local Hospitals and get treated there, but the current lot stopped that.
I can afford Private Hospital treatment if I need it, but the costs of medical insurance at my age are prohibitive.

I despair of this forum, it seems you will do anything to increase traffic on the site, with little thought to those of us who have made our lives here.

HDPrime channels...i don't  know  about BEin Connect.

I used HDPrime recently to follow the Sky team in the Tour on eurosport - it worked well. Used it a short while  back in Vietnam  - it buffered a little  but was useable.

HdPrime i think onlyhave 3 day and monthly tv packages (all channels..bbc..itv..etc). Bein Connect  i think has one day  packages.

Can you please provide a link for the channels available on this site? I've tried searching and only get a home page, which doesn't have links to what channels there are.

    Thank you.

Classic anti Semitism. These bigots are too guarded these days to express their hate and bile openly, so it is more "between the lines." Still one knows it when one comes across it.

These anti Semites will bluster that I am confusing racism with legitimate criticism of the state of Israel. That is untrue.Criticism of Israel and support for the Palestinians is of course in order:it's more or less my position.

But language gives the anti Semites away. They cannot help referring to Nazi inspired internment camps and of course disparaging the holocaust. They are essentially not much more than old fashioned Jew haters. They will point to the Jews who are foes of Zionism and the State of Israel (Jewry has always had its dissenters - a credit to them in a my view). But don't be fooled.

Meanwhile Israel - a country its neighbours wish to annihilate - remains the only democracy in the region. The anti Semites of course ignore the crimes and brutality  of most of the other countries in the region - who despite the rhetoric have done virtually nothing to help the Palestinians.

If I am being accused of being anti-Semetic, then I expect that you would think the same of these people ? (see link below). Helpful hint - they are Jewish.
Democratic Israel ? When the choices range from very right wing to highly extremist right wing ?
Accusing protestors of being anti-Semetic, when criticising Israel, is just a pathetic attempt to stifle genuine criticism of a hateful, apartheid regime.

So what about us happy retirees who have built and paid for their house in the 'sticks', have a stable, loving relationship, live a reasonable lifestyle away from Nana & Cowboy, and can manage quite comfortably on Bht 50,000 a month. Should we have to prove an income of Bht 100,000.

We live very well on around 25,000 Baht a month, but we don't drink or smoke.
It's always been my understanding that those who already have met the previous requirements, can stay on those terms - I believe it's known as 'grandfathering".
