As above, yes you can replace wifi with a cable. Something you may want to try first is change the wifi channel, 1mb is very slow and would indicate maybe a conflict with the neighbours wifi (channel congestion) or another 2.4ghz device (cordless phone, doorbell etc).
In my condo block channel 11 is virtually unusable as everyone's router is on that channel, switch to a free channel and its full speed.
Not very likely I don't think. I live in a small village up in the mountains, as far as I know, I'll be the only one for miles around with a router & wi fi!
i've added a photo, to give you some idea of the area, this is the main road through the village.
Never seen a cordless phone or doorbell anywhere near where I live either. Thanks for the reply, though. -
I've had a router installed. it's wired up, until it comes into one of the bedrooms of the house, then it is wireless.
At certain times of the day, the incoming data falls off to as low as <1 MB download speed, particularly on the laptop downstairs. Can I plug in a cable that will connect the router to the laptops (s), and will that improve the speed / download rate ? I've seen a cable in town, but wanted to check if it will work, before I buy it.
I'm not wanting a huge increase in data flow, just enough so I can watch the football on the TV, via it being linked to a laptop.
Thanks for any help / advice. -

Get a UK sim and there is no issue, they have what they want and you can get what you need, problem solved.
Most phones are dual sim these days, I have a Thai sim amd UK sim in one phone. The UK number can be topped up etc and maintained online at minimal cost.
Would you mind telling me what Company the sim is with ? Thank you.

Had a look on Lazada, but couldn't tell a good one from a bad one (I'm like that with women, too!!!)
I'm looking for a reasonably fast charger that can be used for both 12v and 6v batteries, for cars and motorbikes.
Thanks for any help. -

It seems no company is showing the games in Thailand, so how do people watch the games ?

We went into the local True shop, and the girl there phoned head office, who sent a text to my wife's phone for us to sign up, later that day. 299 Baht a month.

299 if got trueH mobile phone number. I use AIS but will possibly go and buy a 50THB pay as you go sim. If not it's 399thb.
If anyone can get TRUE I.D TV working on a laptop let me know please. I've tried on desktop and laptop and doesn't work....
BEIN channels gonna be available only on platinum from 1st August. They mentioned something about separate rights la liga deal.... but TRUE customer service is so clueless and appalling I dread to think where they find the staff that give this info. BEIN have the rights, why would they offer a cheaper sub-license for true to show?!
I'll probably get BEIN connect pass for 1 year for 790thb so I can watch el classico, which I'm sure bein hopes everyone will do instead of paying exorbitant platinum prices.
Where do you buy the BEIN connect pass from ? Does this allow you to watch the games they show over the interent ?

Is there a topic that shows beginners how to set up streaming over the internet for the various football leagues and cups ?

I see in the comments section for the blue tooth adaptor, they claim there is a sound lag between the TV and headphones, is that your experience too ?

Yes, that's why I asked, not much information about them. Thanks for the reply.

But Brexit (If it ever happens) automatically ends Scotland’s membership of the EU.
Brexit (when it happens) automatically ends the United Kingdoms membership of the EU.
Don’t mistake that as the EU having any objections to an independent Scotland becoming a member of the EU.
Scotland does not want independence, only the SNP want this, please respect the views of all the Scots when posting.
I'm a Scot, and I'd take up arms to free Scotland from the so-called "Union". It's never been a Union it has been a domination of the other three Nations by England, for centuries. Let England sink themselves with Brexit, if they're stupid enough to do it.

They have an offer at Makro for a 55'' UHP TV, for 8990 Baht. I have no idea what UHP means if someone can enlighten me, I'd be grateful.
It's described as a Smart Tv, which I assume means it can access the internet, and it's also UHD which I think is Ultra High Definition.
So, is this a reliable brand? What happens if it needs repairing, do Makro take care of that ?
Thanks for any and all replies -

Stayed one night at a Hotel in Bangkok for Hospital visit, last Friday night, returned home Saturday. My wife (the Houseowner where we live), went to immigration on Monday morning with the completed form, to be told they don't need it, as we hadn't been out of Thailand.
Is this correct ?
When we did my yearly retirement form, a month or so ago, a different Officer, (who wasn't there this time), told us we needed to complete the form.

Will I be able to get TV from the UK over the internet with this ?
It certainly will be faster, I'm currently on a 16GB per month deal with True, usually get around 4-6 MBPS, depending on the time of day. -
As we have a landline with them, TOT are going to connect our line to a new fibre optic system they are installing in our area. They told my wife that unlimited internet is around 500 Baht month, with them. Anyone have experience of this ? is it worth getting ?

Here you are, it's a TOT Router. It's only occasionally the speed drops right down, but that usually coincides with when I want to watch football on the internet !
