Pretty standard move as Pattaya ordered the same. All tourists in hotels should read news and get out weeks ago, those who just arrived are selfish and reckless and will be on the streets as a result. Don't be stupid and self-isoalate
Idiocy. Do not come into close contact with another being.

Indeed but we can reduce the chances by following government advise regarding close social interaction. If one does need to venture outside for necessities then do your utmost to leave no trace for having done so. If we all take care not to infect others then we can get through this. W e can still smile in this land known for it but at a distance. Take care everyone.
'Leave no shadow; is the best I've heard in Thai language.

I am. It's not Trump per se but rather the gravy train.

Even given the dubious facts you have quoted, they don't support the conclusion you have drawn.
Indeed. How many retirees have extended family coming over to see 'grandpa' every year.

What stokes this fear?
It is the idiocy of some that stokes the fear.
Were it not so serious and sad it would be very funny and clownlike. Man made climate change deniers is somewhat of a misnomer because the term is misleading... it should be or rather be more accurately described as, reason and method deniers. A house cannot blow up due to a gas leak. A helium balloon would float forever. A person could not kill themselves by putting their head in a gas oven or by rerouting exhaust fumes into a car. Idiocy of the highest order.

Indeed. Don't complain about the poor standard of our education if you... oh wait.

Times will keep changing. Thailand has the right to choose — just like Europe. Contrary to popular belief, they do not need every single person’s money. When the new requirements of retirement visas broke out, a minority of the 75,000 retirees in Thailand thought the country was going down the drain because of their threat to go elsewhere. Seriously? All they are asking for is BE a proper tourist. Or BE a proper retiree. Just BE. No, really.
I know literally hundreds of people who want to come here on holiday but they have no other choice than to get a tourist visa.

If men just come for sex, the sex is still there , but if men come to Thailand for a holiday and not just sex, then Thailand not such a pleasant place anymore and there are other more enjoyable Countries to go too
I was referring more to semi-retired individuals or couples who have their grandchildren etc. over at some stage during their stay… after xmas and Songkran for example. 5-6 months in Thai and the remainder working in Europe or travelling in it/elsewhere. Lose a 'couple' and that could essentially mean a dozen or more. Not strange or unusual for such things happen as we can reflect on historical data from when other 'places' have has the army in charge. To a large extent it's the same with corporations running things... different outcome but the logic is the same.

I can see a situation where people arrive in December 2019 for their annual winter holiday having spent 3 months say December 2018 to March 2019 (90 days) the previous winter only to be rejected for their annual holiday.
They're now rejecting people who don't live here and aren't doing 'visa runs' - they're rejecting people who like to go on holiday frequently.
Airlines should take action on this.
I would like to see some official warnings from the European governments about tourists being subject to random rejections on arrival.
Many people who have previously overwintered in Thailand go elsewhere now. Of those I know it has not been change of rules/ enforcement per se but rather that they feel country has become less welcoming.

The fine tuning argument hasn't really been taken seriously for a long time because of one fatal flaw. Perhaps the Universe could only exist with the properties it has but we have no way of knowing.

I'm not sure about the biblical god, but the "settings" of the universe being just-so in order that atoms could form and thus we could arise is too coincidental for me to believe that this life-conducive universe came into existence by chance. See Fine-tuned Universe
Where are you getting your data from? I only know of one universe but you would have to know of more in order to make such a claim.

Every last point evaporates into infinite regress which has been known so or 'too' long thus something from nothing is promulgated with a 'la a la I can't hear you' as a response.
In a way I should be thankful to this ultimate stupidity because it drove me to dump psychology and see the world, though not as some may think. Belief in 'x' in absence of reason is a disorder but/and/which is prevalent in our species. The question is why this particular aspect or facet is given a special status or position. Unless I was willing to grant religion, spirituality, gods, muti, voodoo + a special place, for no reason, I would never get a job in the field. Whispers it was... everybody knows but you can't say it out loud. Thought about it for months and well into my third year before dumping it on the grounds that wonton dishonesty may be required.
Read the Bible <deleted>. Already know scripture to the point where I know fellow member CMN is entirely correct as per of it. Excuse me for presuming gender but the man knows his Bible. Is @Jingthing still a member?
