  1. Remember there was once I saw my wife's sister son doing homework. He is in primary school. The school is teaching them basic English words. I watch him doing a question with pictures of 4 different fruits and they need to fill in the correct answers. ( 4 answers are given and just need to link to the correct picture.) first three answers are done and I saw the last fruit is shown a picture of pineapple. But the answer given is guava. I explained to the small child and told him the picture showing the fruit should be pineapple not guava. I slash off the Guava and ask him write pineapple beside it. After few days I curious asking him how is his homework regarding the fruit question. Teacher tell him pineapple is wrong. Answer is guava ( picture show a pineapple) He got a 0 point for that question. I felt at that point.

  2. I visited the Philippines regularly over a 20 year period and lived there for 2 and in attitude etc there's not much difference between the people there and here.

25 people may have said deportation was too harsh but no indication of how many protested and wanted him separated from parts of his anatomy at the very least.

the filipino's are much more nastier to foreigners than the Thai people in general. just get over there and see what happens when you run out of money or anger one of them! "SUE" that's the main thing they threaten you with. don't have much use for them.

They are nasty not only in their own country. The thai man case is nothing compare to the Philipinoys in Singapore. See the attached photo. The pinoy guy confessed to the facebook comment and there are other pinoys in singapore mockingly the singaporeans as well. I wondering if they did the same to Thailand, what will happen to them.

  3. IMO the authorities should take other measures for their concern of drunk fighting/ reputation image/ public harassment.

The ladies wearing over expose attire, yes you can send them for "attitude adjustment".

The retards wanna drunk fighting, send more enforcement officers in the party area to guard.

But to ban many of the party stuff, you are basically taking away the happiness from the people.

In the songkran period, the whole Thais are waiting to enjoy including the small kids. They love to water gun fight, dancing, gathering.

The authorities has control the event till the Songkran has lost it's purpose. It become like you can have fun, yes. But not VERY FUN.

You want to stop the bad image, ban people drunk, prevent drunk fighting, how many percent is this group happening?

And how many other people who are going down purely to have great fun with water during Songkran period?

SOngkran period is like the Big Zoukout party for the Thais in Thailand especially the village areas. Normal days, what can they enjoy with? Nothing exceptionally. Only Songkran, everyone (kids/family/friends) all will really enjoying themselves. This year seems many places have ban unlike previous years. You can't see all trucks lining up splashing water, people dancing, high music with great feelings.

Yes there are still parties around but is it really fun?

I agree there are things need to be tighten but i believe the situation can be better with alternatives measures.

  4. The point is not 100, 1000, 10000 or 100000.

The point is after these people are caught, what are you going to do with them?

Transfer to another post? Sack them without any punishment? Forgive them after they agree to return the money? Or charge them to court where they will be given bail, appeal, bail, appeal, bail appeal until their last day on the earth?

People are not afraid because they know the laughable consequences.

The current authorities need to make sure the corruptors are going to the real jail. Not the bullshit again, bail - appeal, bail - appeal. After 10 years still bail - appeal.

Once they can make it happen, the people will know you mean serious business. People will consider a lot to commit corruption. I believe it will significant go down after the current govt show us they are damn serious this time.

Nonetheless, it is a good start and keep the good start continues.

Let's wait to see a brand new Thailand, first class nation in the coming years..

  5. The mentality of some locals seriously need to reform too.

This is too much if the incident is real. The tourist even has a baby with them. The driver is heartless dumping them just like that.

People say Thailand is a beautiful city, the national religion is Buddhism.

Koon Thai jai dee (Thai people good heart)

Locals has been portrayed as good hearted people, kind to others.

    But what is the reality?

It seems that we are getting difficult to see anyone fit into this category nowadays.

It's time for the need to change our mindset. Humanity is not only use on same nationality, same race or particular group. It applies to every each human being regardless where you are. We should help the needy as we can. Thai people also like to travel oversea a lot. What if today your husband/wife/mother/father/children happen the same thing , been dump in the middle of dont know where. What will you feel?

In Buddhism, they talk about karma. It is a cycle. Karma will bite us back one day.

    Do things with conscience.

  6. The statement is saying the abbot will give back the money with condition that his criminal charges withdraw.

    Am I reading correctly?

If they have evidence to charge him, just proceed against him and then get back the money through court order. Money has invested in the temple. Related to the abbot ,just seize the land and temples from him.

Thailand should stop all the bullshit anymore if the current government really want a new start for the Thais.

  7. Announcement of this consider worthing news including actions, enthusiastic and competency. When they say 24hrs they must really have people on standby 24hrs including meal times. Assess the importance of the caller issue. They really need to set up a good call center. 1111 is a hotline for the WHOLE nation. Imagine the numbers of callers. The public also need to understand sometimes the line can be busy. For crime issue, the hotline staff should assist them directly ,it may save their life. The hotline system should coordinate with other enforcer department especially the police. Unless all the government department especially police 191 have provide English speaking operator. It will also redundant after the hotline staff pass to the respective department and no one speak English. How are they going to assist the foreigners? Unless the 1111 is a super multi-task hotline. They need to work out this soon, don't forget we are now in ASEAN.

  8. Take it to Infinity Mac, Fortune Town.

    3rd floor, near Bangkok Bank.

The guy there may try to repair it or you can inquire about replacement options. Or you can walk up to 4th floor. There is a mac repair shop the name of which I can't remember. iShop or something.

If your Macbook Pro is a 2011 model and the problem is video related Apple has just announced an extended repair program for this long running fault partly due to a petition started on Change. org by some guy in Australia

    Products affected

    • 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models manufactured in 2011
    • 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina models manufactured from Mid 2012 to Early 2013

See: MacBook Pro Repair Extension Program for Video Issues - https://www.apple.com/au/support/macbookpro-videoissues/

Now the battle to get the Bt 20,544 back I paid for a replacement 17-inch logic board from Macintosh Centre Co @ Fortune

    Forget iMac. Slowwwww.

OEM logic boards at Apple repair shops are indeed very expensive. What I have done in the past is buy the part off of eBay, and then take that part to a shop for them to install.

For example: I recently had to switch out the keyboard on my Macbook Air. The quoted price at an official Apple repair shop was 17,000 baht. I found a brand new keyboard on eBay for about US$60 (including shipping) and had that installed for 1000 baht at my local (non-official) Apple shop. Total cost was about 3000 baht, against 17,000 baht had I gone the other route.

If you are ordering a logic board off of eBay, just be very sure you get the correct one.

I've replaced two main boards in my time....one a MacBook and one a MacBook Air.

Think one was free on a program and the next I got from an unofficial shop in CM but still pretty expensive.

    Long waits both times.

Btw another thing that often goes is hard drives.

Be aware some of these are guaranteed for a long time, I think five years.

Course they take so long to deliver you gotta buy a new one anyway but then you get a spare some weeks later (in fact I think I still got a sealed spare) anyone wanna buy?

Thank guys for your sharing. I got final answer from apple staff. They said water leaked into my macbook and not only my logic board need to replace, DVD player and one more stuff need to change too and the total replacement cost is 30k+ baht!

I know the Mac replacement is expensive but the fee is just ridiculous enough to buy a new MacBook.

And I not sure really believe their words. So many parts are faulty?? I maybe paranoid, while they say this spoil that spoil, who else can verified? And is it really spoil before I send in for repair? Looks like I need to spend the 30k bahts on a new Mac air.

  10. She is just changing clothes/cleaning/what ever etc...In the toilet.

And that is a public toilet for. Otherwise in case of you got food spill/ coffee all over your pant, what you gonna do? Take it off in the cafe? It's not like the lady is shitting on the basin or urinating on the floor. The person has a problem is the photographer herself.
