  1. Not sure if you are referring to my saying about gold shop in Wororot market. Wororot Markets is an area in China town area of Chiang Mai with many many gold shops and even though they are in a market area they are not a market shop.
  2. Because If I didn't people like you have nothing to whinge about.
  3. 1. I am not perfect, far from it. 2. I did not criticise him I just stated the facts.
  4. Was having lunch and a drink with my girlfriend in a nice quite bar in Chiang Mai. I saw an elderly farang sit at end of bar. Next thing in a shouting voice he yelled "100 baht" and got up and left a freshly poured beer and and remainder of bottle contents and left. I am not a beer drinker so not sure how much they cost but obviously was too expensive in his mind. Really not think the extra was worth the effort he put in.
  5. I goto a shop in Warorot Market it Chiang Mai. 1 and 2 baht bars its the published price plus 200 baht/baht buy or sell. For 5 baht and above (have bought and sold 5 and 10 baht) only ever pay the published price and I always check before going in. The other week I took a 10 baht bar in and said I wanted to sell and get a 5 baht bar and the rest in cash. Only published prices used and cash straight to my bank account. I have often wondered how they make money but obviously do. I have used them for years. A guy in Chaing Rai posted on here enquiring He was going to buy 40 baht so I sent him scan of their card so he was to make a trip and it was going to save him a small fortune in commission. So if you plan to buy a 10 baht bar come for holiday to Chiang Mai and I will tell you shop and you can save 4000 commission.
  6. I explained that all that to her......not really accept. She couldn't afford to buy 25 satang gold so didn't really matter.
  7. Talking to a Thai person a couple weeks ago about the price of gold going down. She said because of the war. I said usually the price goes up in uncertain times like that. Then she went onto say that it didn't matter the price of gold in Thailand was safe and had gone up. I argued a little then I had to produce a graph of Thai gold price to convince her that Thai gold did not stand alone in world gold pricing. Once again Thailand is the hub of the world and all is good. I guess it makes them happy.
  8. Possibly. Australia Post said it was not entered into their system the first time. Sneaky bug her.
  9. I ordered something from the USA to be sent to Queensland, Australia. The item was sent from Daytona Beach on the 18th May. It then travelled to Miami, onto New York, LA and then Sydney Australia. It departed Sydney on 29th May. After a few days I saw no tracking so did some checking no one knew where it was. Next thing tracking showed it had arrived in New York on the 10th June. I thought maybe going back to sender. Wrong. It then went to Phillipsburg, Cincinnati, Chicago, LA and then again arrived Sydney on the 28th June. Finally arrived at its destination today, 5th July. Don't know what happened, but it certainly had a journey.
  10. A few 2000 baht and a couple 4000 baht. Did win $10,000aud on a scratchie in Australia a long time ago and the 10k was the top prize.
  11. You must be a bit bent enough so as to comment.
  12. When I go to dinner or bar in Loi Kroh, Chiang Mai I park in a private open air carpark. The owner always put his mask on as he comes to collect payment. Last night he did the same. I said you don't have to wear anymore. He just said he will. As they say here "up to you"
  13. Maybe you need to tell the "home branches" that. Many a times in the last 9 years I have been told I have to goto branch where I opened the account to do what I wanted to do. My friend opened a BB account in Chiang Rai and when she was charged to make a deposit we asked why and the girl actually said "a different country". I said you mean province and she said oh yes but still have to pay fee.
  14. This happened when the BB closed in Panthip Plaza in Chiang Mai. I received a letter, in Thai, stating what branch my account was moved to. It was in Changklan road a few hundred meters away. Hardest part there is parking as compared Panthip. It would have been nice to be able to change it to my local BB in a Big C shopping centre.
  15. And where did that bit of information come from?
  16. I was in there last week, the first time in awhile, and so many shops, including eateries, closed.
  17. When I bought my car here I received the red plates in a couple weeks. Not told anything about not driving after 6pm and nothing about needing to log trips outside province. I was told normal plates would be about 6 weeks. many times I went back to the dealer and enquired about them. Finally at 6 months, yes months, I jumped up and down. The person at the dealer asked me who had sold me the car and when I told them who they said she didn't work there anymore. I said why should that make a difference. Off she went and came back and said original salesperson had not done the paperwork so I had been driving around for 6 months in an unregistered car. I had paid full insurance at purchase time. Question is why can't a red plated car be driven at night? Maybe "they" think its a new driver and not experienced. Who knows?
