  1. Trolling meme post removed.
  2. I have heard good feedback about https://www.bpcphysio.com/ Hopefully your doctor was a spine specialist (not just general orthopedic Dr) and you have had MRI and Xrays. If not, consult one and get these first as there are types of back problems in which most PT might be contraindicated. Bring Xray and/or Dr report with you, knowledgable therapists willl want to see this first to know what they are dealing with.
  3. Depends on the person. All I had was a sore arm but some people do feel quite ill for 1-2 days
  4. Patches don't work well at all in this climate, you sweat under them. But alcohol based gels are fine.
  5. Assuming you have not had it in past 10 years, then Tdap Careful with "Zoster" vaccine, might be the older vaccine and not Shingrix. And therefore much less effective. Last I heard, BPH had Shingrix but was charging over 7,000 per injection. That info is about 10 months old. You can get both Tdap and Shingrix same day but potential side effects (sore arm, aches/brief fever in some cases) may be worse than if given separately. Nothing dangerous just potentially a bit more discomfort for a day or two.
  6. It is recommended that people over 65 receive a higher dose flue shot because their immune response is lower. The "over 65" shot contains a much higher dose of antigen.
  7. Became newly available about a year ago. Mainly just hospitals. Only clinic I know of that had it is Medconsult in Bkk which is also the least expensive source I know of -- 5,590 baht per injection with no add on charges (unlike hospitals).
  8. BPH website lists it as a package/promtion https://bangkokpattayahospital.com/services/packages-and-promotions/ I am less sure about being able to find updated COVID vaccine in Pattaya but as it now emerges you have had 3 prior COVID vaccinations plus several COVID infections less urgent if not planning to travel.
  9. P.S. policy documents look fine.
  10. No everyone gets a medical questionmaire. Exclusions are decided on after that based on the information provided. Possible that the "about 10 questlons" you refer to was the medical questionnaire. Did it ask about prior surgeries, prior hosputalizations, regular medications taken? Addendum just saw your more recent post. So you did in fact complete the medical questionnaire (hopefully truthfully).
  11. Exactly what website did you apply on, and what documents do you now have saying you are already insured with no exclusions? What he showed, is normally shown on Cigna Global website and a medical questionnaire does have t be completed before your insurance takes effect. Unless what you applied for is not Cigna International at all.
  12. Posts designed to take the thread into debate on COVID vaccines deleted.
  13. Poll was among registered Democrats which is really not the issue. Need to see a poll of all potential voters for Trump vs. Harris.
  14. I very much doubt the MRIs you had prior to your bypass surgery and neuro workup were "whole body" scans. Nobody is questioning the value of MRIs/CTs etc when ordered by a doctor for a specific diagnostic purpose. Nor the value of low dose CT of lung for cancer screening in smokers/ex-smokers. The issue is whole body MRIs in healthy people as a general screening tool.
  15. There is normally a medical questionnaire. In the absence of one, it is a moratorium policy. Which means most things will not be covered in first 6 - 24 months. I have not known Cigna International to do this. What exactly do your policy documents say? Who is the contract with? What Agent did you use? If a Thai Agent then this will normally be a Thai-issued policy.
  16. Rabies pre-exposure is 2 shots. The 5 shot series is for post-expisure. Yellow fever is not needed unless entering Thailand from an endemic area.
  17. Not really. It covers a number of health checkups including colonoscopy. Annual check up, prostate screening, colonoscopy = about $1,000 right there Also covers pyschological vounselling.
  18. The purpose of getting insurance is to protect you from large hospital bills, not small costs like vaccinations. If you wanted cover for things like that, you could have added (at considerable expense) the outpatient cover, but that makes little sense given how inexpensive outpatient visits usually are here and how much it increases your premium. Health insurance is not the same as a health maintenance organization (of which there are none here). It's purpose is not to keep you healthy, but rather to indemnify you against major health care costs through risk sharing among the pool of insured persons. Keep your insurance. Should you have a major health event or accident, you'll be glad you did.
  19. Absolutely not a good idea. MRIs/CTs and the like should be done only if a doctor thinks it necessary to confirm or make a diagnosis of a specific problem. Except for low-dose CT for lung cancer screening (and that, only for people who meet specific criteria), MRIs and CTs are nto appropriate for health screening purposes and certainly not "whole body" scans. Not only a complete waste of money but very likely to lead to unnecessary follow up tests for things that prove to be harmless. No public health authority in the world recommends these.
  20. I am doubtful of BPH having all that you need vaccibne-wise but you can ask. Make sure to specify the high dose flu vaccine not regular, and updated COVID vaccine (covering omicron variants) Under International Health & Wellbeing, vaccines are not covered. They would be covered only under the optional outpatient cover. So you will be paying for all vacciantions yourslef. Re colonoscopy, under the Health & Wellbeing option, it is covered up to $325 Suggest you familiarize yourself with coverage details, shown here https://www.cignaglobal.com/individuals-families/international-health-insurance/global-professionals/optional-benefits Normally for anything other than hospital admission, you pay first then claim reimbursement.
  21. Unless you selected the optional " Heath and Wellbeing" coverage in addition to the main plan, (not worth the money IMO compared to self-pay), outpatient vaccinations are not covered. BPH might nto have all of these vaccines. In particular they may not have the new, updated COVID vaccine and the high dosage flu vaccine. And, their costs will be high (as above, you will likely have to self-pay). Best option to get all is the Mahidol Clinic in Bangkok https://www.thaitravelclinic.com/cost.html
  22. Perhaps because at 70 he is at elevated risk of serious illness/death if he gets COVID. People do still die of COVID and a high percentage of those are people over 65. (Same is true of influenza). If he has never been vaccinated and never before had COVID then he is at particularly high risk.
  23. Having gotten the Pneumax 23 you need (1 year later) to get the Prevnar 13. Should also gef Shingrix vaccine. Needs 2 injections 2 months apart. Definitely should get influenza vaccine and at your age need the high dose one. Get it soon as flu season is already here. Yes, should get the updated COVID vaccine (if you have no prior COVID vaccinations then 2-3 doses will be needed, I'm not sure of the intetvsl but doctor can advise). At some point should get a tetanus booster as well. Flu and COVID are the mist pressing for you and can be given at same time. Shingrix, tetanus and Prevnar 13 can all be given together if necessary but you might do better to get the Shingrix separately as some people feel ill afterwards. (All I had was a sore arm, but some really feel ill for a few days,).
  24. While she could have gotten it done under the 30 baht scheme it would have taken some time to arrange, with lots of back and forth to Lamplaimat snd red tape hassles. Which would have added to her (already considerable) stress.
  25. It is simpler -- and much safer -- to go this route than to distribute bank account information widely to all friends, acquaintances, friends of friends etc. It is the usual way of doing this, nowadays. Why on earth does it bother you so much?
