  1. Today, I had breakfast in deep Naklua at Borussia Park, formerly know as Naklua Sauna, the first time, to watch the boxing event.

2 eggs prepared to your convenience, 3 slices of ham, cheese, 2 sl. of dark bread, 2 butters, 2 jams and 2 cups of coffee or tee, orange juice.

    125 baht only!

I had better breakfasts, but value for money is unbeatable in my opinion.

Many more variations of breakfasts are available there. I think from 115 to something like a 150 baht.

However it's too far for me to go there regularly.

    • Cuisine from the tri-border area of France-Germany-Switzerland
    • Mexican
    • Hungarian goulash

We are having excellent French restaurants (l'addresse is the latest and a really good one), South German restaurants (Bei Gerhard, excellent, but not from this region), numerous Swiss restaurants. All are good, but they don't offer food from this particular region, where you'll find a product of all the best from the three cuisines (The restaurants there are mostly just a stone throw away from the border).

Mexican... Yes outside of Pattaya. This has been discussed before.

A really good Hungarian goulash? That beats me to know a place in Thailand. Like a Szegediner goulash and other variations.

  2. I've got the test certificate, insurance and tax service done between P. Klang and Nua, left hand side, about where the bridge leads to BKK/Rayong highway.

They charge a small service fee like ~50 baht, which won't let me make drive alternatively to the transportation office.

  3. Just found their businesscard.

address is Soi Pornprapanimit 16 (Soi Siam Country, Soi 16) and their website is http://www.littlecake.net/

Exactly! That's the place I'd recommend too.

You can hand in a picture and they'll design the cake like that.

    Here some pictures.

  4. It is located close to the corner of Soi 21.

From time to time I go there for having a cheap drink.

The food comes mostly from the freezer - not good in my opinion. The service isn't really friendly, just the cashier (or the owner?) behind of the counter is.

If I just want to have a drink with friends, watch sports on TV or watch the people in Soi Buakhao, this is my place to go. Why would you like to pay a higher price somewhere else? The soft drinks are just 20 baht and the big Leo 65 baht.

In case you are heading for a snack or a small talk with the waitresses, I'd suggest other places.

  5. "Interesting" and completely different version of the story on the FB page of Honey Bar.

A little "different" from what was described as witnesses statements.

So now pick your choice wink.png

Re: News Report Honey Bar Drunken Customer.

This incident has been grossly misreported in the media. I was in the bar when it happened.

The American guy was drunk and refused to pay his bar bill.

He became very abusive at the girls and cashier, using threatening gestures and extreme swear words at them.

The cashier called the security guard in the bar complex for assistance.

Totally unprovoked, the guy swung a punch at the security guard who was knocked off his feet.

Motorcycle taxi drivers from the local stand witnessed the totally unprovoked attack and immediately went to his assistance.

After receiving first-aid, the guy walked away from the bar complex.

Police later impounded his motorcycle and took copies of his unpaid bar bill.

The guy did not offer or pay any of his bar bill. No customers left the bar afterwards in protest.

The security guard gave a statement to the police and was not charged with any offence.

Indeed! The version by the owner of the Honey Bar is very different to the version of the witness, who was just there for having a drink during his vacation. coffee1.gif

  6. Let's stay with the facts and what I heard from a credible eyewitness please.

Honeybar 2 is located in Naklua Road, at the 'VIP' bar center, the Germans there call it the junkyard - now I can figure out why.

AFAIK, the host is a German, and I hope that he was absent during this incident. (Maybe at Honey bar 1 or where ever)

This bar center is organized by a single owner, rumors say it's best supermarket. I can't confirm that.

However, ALL involved are responsible for this incident, in my opinion. The general manager of VIP bar center first and all of the bar owners there. Just by the simple reason to employ or accept such a scumbag as a marshal, or whatever his function is. The managers are responsible for their staff! As well, I have no information, that anybody interfered. This may be acceptable for those, who are tourists and don't wan't to intervene in a Thai affair. But for those, who are are working there, I just feel disgusted by them.

I will not visit this bar center anymore (even if I hardly did before). As well, I will keep complaining about everyone, who might be responsible.

Hope to hear some good news from the Russian victim soon!

  7. Your kids might experience more fun at the Club Chukkas. They will get closer to the ponies and players.

The owners of Thai Polo Club are very polite and friendly.

  8. it is known that Savannakhet is reluctant to issue non-i 'O' to people older than 50, and will find any excuse to not do so.

You may have better luck in Vientane, or convert tourist visa in bangkok.

why would they not want to give non-o to over 50s paz?

That is what I heard as well by many people recently.

Savannakhet is a good option for Non-Imm-O, based on marriage, but if based on retirement Vientiane is far easier.

  9. Thanks! I should have mentioned that I'm in Bangkok and use Chaeng Wattana. Wonder if they might be be a bit more strict? As for your comment that the letter and bank book balance must be exactly the same, I don't see how that can be because as I mentioned they've always insisted I make a withdrawal on the morning of application so that the bank book shows an updated balance as of that very day, which will therefore be different from the balance stated on the bank letter (at least by that morning's withdrawal if nothing else). How do you get around that at Jomtien? Do they not insist on a transaction on the day of application?

Chaeng Wattana, Non-Imm-O counter, even has a paper on their desk, that they will handle extension of stay up to 45 days early.

The officer there stated that Jomtien/Chonburi is able to handle the extension of stay 30 days in advance only.

This information is from mid of December 2014.

Any other experiences? I always prefer to get my things done ASAP.

  10. It is known that Savannakhet is reluctant to issue non-imm 'O' for people over 50.

You should have applied for the non-imm visa for yourself anyway because your paperwork was satisfying.

Now you both will have to apply for visa conversion, most likely in Bangkok, with the same documentation. That bust be done at least 15 days before permission of stay expires.

I'm able to second that, even if I didn't read here that Savannakhet was difficult, some months ago. So I recommended a German lady to apply for the Non-Imm-O at Savannakhet. (Refused, Tourist-Visa only.)

With the exactly the same documents, she was able to convert her TV to a Non-Imm-O at Chaeng Wattana a few days later without any problems, but a two trips to BKK were required.
