  1. If you have Amex, and enjoy a bit of special treatment, the Le Bua has a "pay one night second night free thingy" going at the moment (book by end of June, valid until end of october).

That's only if you book using amex (although I don't think they bill you until checkout, the card just secures the booking).

It works out to US$220 for 2 nights (plus 17.7% taxes) which ends up a saving of about US$20 per night over Asiarooms (which are pretty competitive usually). The other advantage is that you don't actually pay until checking out.

If you book through Five Star Alliance they throw in breakfast, fruit & flowers etc etc.

This deal doesn't make sense. Shouldn't it be US$110 per night since you get the 2nd night free? Unless this place is charging US$220 per night which is oodles more than Asiaroom's 6500 bh offer.

The deal makes perfect sense. Normally US$220 per night. Pay with Amex get 2 nights for US$220 (plus taxes of 17.7%).

    So 2 nights this way in total = $US 258.94 (8438 THB).

    Asiarooms for 2 nights in total = $US 302.00 (9841 THB)

As I said, US$ 20 per night cheaper than Aisarooms :o

P.S. I've booked my two days this way early October... anyone else interested has until Saturday (30/06/07) to Book.

Once again the advantage is no pre-payment (you pay the guaranteed price as noted on your confirmation email, when you check out)

  2. Sorry, but your own Government had Aus at #2 on the list for a long time. I just presumed it was still there from all the over-weight people I see when I visit.

Yes, and so you should be sorry. Perhaps you might check before quoting statistics you can't back-up.

Who is YOUR Government by the way?

P.S. Fat chicks need lovin' too :o

  3. And you think it will insure anyone travelling to North Korea?

This doggy site may resell what can be bought at any airport in the world with much more warnings and instructions - criss-cross between the countries listed.

If you fell ill in NK, what claim would you have against someone who sold you a 80$ insurance over the net?

    Rubbish.

  5. I'm Australian. I know all about Australian customs and immigration. I've never suffered any "indignity" other than being regularly searched including the contents of my laptop.

Like I said, I worry about whether I've forgotten something. It's just a comment. I don't need advice on the subject, ta.

hmm, now I can see why they look twice at you. :o

  6. 1. Paranoia aside, you should know what's in your bag.

    2. If you don't, then you would be in the good company of many thousands of otherwise law abiding visitors that get caught, because.... they don't know what's in their bag.

    3. This doesn't make you a bad person, simply a person that couldn't really give a shit about aussie quarantine, or the reasons for it's serious enforcement.

    4. When caught, you will cop a lecture and threats of fines, and eventually walk away with a warning and without your food items.

    5. Before your next visit to Australia, you will take the time to know what's in your luggage so you don't have to suffer this indignity again.

    6. I checked, and don't see any reference by me, suggesting you're British, however seeing as you're located in London, you should have some idea of the potential dangers to local flora & fauna by accidental importation of foodstuffs from your country of residence.

    7. If nothing else, Aussie customs are (in my experience) consistent in their pedantic treatment of travellers be they aussie or not.

    8. It's interesting to note that most references to aussie customs that I've heard and read are similar to ours (they're slow, thorough and pedantic), so perhaps their method is having a positive educational effect.

    Peace.
