Thank you gents, yes mapjack is the one I was thinking of. Ding, have you checked out the coverage of Chiang Mai streets on mapjack? It's fantastic.
-
Could someone kindly post the link, to view the recent "street level" mapping done by the google-earth-auto-mobile?

I forgot to tell you about the "Asma" hotel.

These are my preferred agents for package deals out of Bangkok.

Yeah flying into the Gold Coast not Brizzy, I flew with them and LOVED the OOL - KUL - OOL legs. They do a great service between the two ports, and the price, if your dates are a little flexible will be less than half what Jetstar try to exhort.

Stop IT - STOP STOP STOP stop telling people how good EVA Air are.
Mods - stop this thread now. This is a secret I do not want shared
Other airlines are finally starting to take note... Eco/Dlx is catching on, some of us want a little better than the economy squeeze... nothing flash, just a tad more room than the regular Tokyo subway offering.

I used EGD between BKK and AMS, and yeah it's well worth it if you're a big guy. These seats aren't business class standard, they're hard as a rock, but for the less crowded cabin, and extra personal space it's worth every dollar and then some.
-
Sort it out with them BEFORE you fly.
Yeah good luck with doing that from Sweden.
-
Take both, it will save you a long and convoluted explanation at check in time.

I'm a big fella Pete, it's all about having "some" personal space. At just on AU$1050 inclusive of all options, and in the XL seats/cabin, I feel like I've won a cool prize. The product is worth double that, easily, and they absolutely piss on Jetstars over-priced and over-rated Star Class.

It's hardly a dump, you guys need to experience a 6 hour transit stop at Port Morseby, now THAT'S a fkn dump!

Just completed this return flight, and it was on-time or thereabouts both ways (late afternoon/evening).

Just returned from Songkran, and having got a super cheap deal with AAX from Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur return (inclusive of 15kgs, meal, comfort kit and pre-allocated seat choice), for around the $1000 mark, can only praise this Airline. I had the XL seat (Business class size, and space without the trimmings or a lay flat seat).
The flight left on time, and arrived on time going over, and arrived back on the Gold Coast 10 minutes early on return. Good service on board, from a happy crew.
The seats;

2pm is the general policy. I've got into the Shangri-la at 8am for no extra cost.
So I think you need a combination of looking needy, and a patient willingness to sit near reception, telling them to let you know when you can check in... as if they want you sitting around reception making the place look untidy for too long.

Maybe your son is a bully who stands-over kids half his age for their lunch money... he wouldn't be the first.

My Thai girlfriend, has a Thai passport, she thinks she is not allowed to visit Malaysia
It might just be her way of saying, "take me to Hong Kong, or Singapore at least!".

If it's ALL about price, take a look at Air Asia X Kuala Lumpur to Gold Coast.
Depart KUL 20th April, Return KUL 5th May, inclusive of taxes, meals, 15kg baggage, comfort kit and your choice of seat for a grand total of AUD$411. (under THB12000)
So add your flights to & from Bangkok, and train/bus from Gold Coast to Brisbane, it's still a good deal.

I have some of these

You get a business class seat and leg room for less than the economy price elsewhere and you can't see the value? You're obviously not very big.
