Trump came into office and started providing defensive weapons to Ukraine, put sanctions on Russia, and drove oil prices down, hurting Russia. Biden came into office, stopped the weapons to Ukraine, cancelled the sanctions on Russia, and cancelled pipelines and cut oil production, driving prices up, enriching Russia. Fortunately for Ukraine, they had almost four years of defensive weapons shipments stockpiled, and NATO members had significantly ramped up their financial commitments as a result of Trump’s jaw-boning.
