  1. A lot of people without a military background talk a lot of smack about Pete Hegseth and J. D. Vance as well.
  2. And from operation to operation. What’s your point? Do you think it happens in a vacuum? Dude’s DL goes up, dude buys equipment to bring it down. Do you think the poor should make better money or not? Are you willing to pay a bit more for your strawberries to make that happen or not?
  3. I did some consulting for a company that was raided by immigration before covid. They lost about 70% of their DL workforce. In two months, that had had to more than double their starting pay. I was there to improve their efficiency on a few lines, and improve the working conditions.
  4. The wage increase will benefit the poor. Cheaper strawberries and domestic help only benefits the rich.
  5. That’s just farm/ranch input costs, and does not include taxes, overhead or capital expenditures, which represent the bulk of their actual cost. It also includes all labor, not just direct labor. It (your link) also states that labor cost was second to fertilizer and chemical costs. The price at the farm/ranch is generally much less than the cost at the shelf, so at the end of the day, DL is probably around 2-3% A union sheet metal fabricating facility building HVAC products in Southern California only runs 10% direct labor.
  6. He inserted himself into the chain of command.
  7. She had a lot of money and influence, but in typical leftist form, all she can do is record herself “crying” and post up to get attention. Well, she’s done her part now.
  8. Yeah, Milley should be prosecuted for treason for that. Instead, he gets a plush gig with Chase and a nice pension.
  9. He confused net worth with income. How funny is that?
  10. Or perhaps going with policies that most Americans want.
  11. Will lowering energy prices reduce produce prices?
  12. It is interesting that the left does not give a whit about energy prices, taxes and regulations driving up prices, but when the working poor stand to make a bit more money it’s the end of the world. And who always wants to raise minimum wages which mostly benefits union and government workers? No concern about prices when their buying votes.
  13. If they are on tje Thai border, why should Thailand not take care of then. All these NGOs need to be made to rely on donations and not taxpayer money.
  14. Global 1%. The discussion was about who controlled the world. And you are conflating income with wealth.
  15. No. Earning a million a year. Just having a million won’t do it.
  16. About 20 million people in the US are in the top 1%
  17. False. You only have to earn about $1M a year for that. A partner at a good law firm earns that.
  18. Yes, “deporting undocumented immigrants could lead to rising prices,” if it’s done in a vacuum. Reducing energy costs will offset any cost increase due to labor. What do you have against wages for the working poor being driven up?
  19. What percentage of the cost of produce on market shelves do you think direct labor represents? One could always eliminate income corporate taxes, that would reduce prices.
