A tough guy with street smarts joins the team to help Trump clean out the Augean Stables. What a contrast this lot is to the limp-wristed woke libs who have dominated Washington for so long. -
Naomi Campbell to Advise Thailand on Global Fashion Aspirations
JingerBen replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
By all accounts a nasty piece of work. Her past exploits have included financial misconduct as well as violence on more than one occasion. Do the Shins really know who they are bringing onboard? -
This Alphabet Soup turned into a stinking gumbo a long time ago. Time to throw it all out and provide some basic and fundamental protections for what is done in private by consenting adults. Promoting a perverted agenda is no longer wanted by the majority of people anywhere in the world where they have a voice to oppose it.

Western Food - when only this will do !
JingerBen replied to CharlieH's topic in Western Food in Thailand
+1 for The Duke's Iron Bridge. You didn't mention pizza. IM [not so] HO it is the Gold Standard in CM. Not quite comparable to what you get in Little Italy; Court St. in Brooklyn; or Arthur Ave. in the Bronx, but it is very good and has been for many years now. That said, I'm always glad to try another place. Any suggestions? -
Minimum level of Thai knowledge and language for long term residents
JingerBen replied to PomPolo's topic in General Topics
Good points that would be hard to contradict. My own experience with them has been that the majority of expats here seem rather more intelligent than the average Faranglander. One of the earlier posts on this thread described the disinclination to learn Thai as "willful ignorance." I think that nails it. -

Britons Overwhelmingly Support a New Grooming Gang Inquiry
JingerBen replied to Social Media's topic in World News
What a masterful put-down. Not only of an individual parroting an agenda, but of the ideology itself. My only disagreement is your view of when things will change ... it certainly won't be with the "...next election" in the UK. Low-class Brits start taking in socialism along with their mother's milk and that nasty resentment of people better off than they are lasts a lifetime. It's a generational thing that will not change anytime soon - or until the last communist is strangled with the guts of the last woke progressive. -
Talk about "Wealth beyond the dreams of avarice" that takes the cake. That said, she is probably just doing her duty - as she sees it - by fronting for other members of her corrupt clan.

For sliced whole wheat I like what comes from JJ Bakery and is available at Rim Ping, Iron Bridge. Nana Bakery for French bread and many other baked goods. l'Opera for everything except sliced bread. -

Point to the head, it's obviously brain damage. -
Mamma mia, dario... I'd like to find the same thing - a good Italian deli. Ragu Rustico Italiano in the (now defunct) Promenada Mall was an excellent restaurant that also had a small deli section. Sadly, just a memory now. You might try asking around at the better restaurants where they source out tbeir Italian ingredients. Buona Fortuna!

That nanny-state mindset goes far beyond the BBC and far beyond the UK. It is one of the main reasons I, and so many others, gladly left the Faranglands never to return.
