Zero charisma, thin skinned when questioned, and generally irascible. He built an amazing business from nothing (I worked in finance and used the Bloomberg system daily - it changed the way people work), but it's HIS company and nobody questions him or his directives. Same attitude when he was mayor, during which time he did some great things but in the process <deleted> A LOT of people off. He won the mayoral elections the same way he's running for president - throw an insane amount of money around to buy endorsements and media to shape an image. His opponents were like mice to an elephant.
I think Mike is very, very smart but personality is not too far from Trump. No doubt in my mind he would be a better manager, but he's not likable and has a hard time relating to ordinary people - which in my opinion makes him unelectable. An aside, I worked with the person who fired him from Salomon Brothers - in his words, "Mike was an a$$hole".
Spot on.
Native New Yorker here.
I can never remember such a pathetic bunch of Dems.
This feeble and inept opposition will assure a long reign for the Great Trump - or Trump the first - however history will style him... and you can bet your boots that he will be remembered as larger than life.
...and the roller coaster ride continues.
It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.

You could start at the psychiatric hospital.
Does anywhere do?
No, bad counseling would be harmful.
Quite right.
That would be Suan Prung Hospital.
The best known and most popular psychiatrist is Dr. Kittiwan Thiamkaew.
She is on the staff at Suan Prung and also has her own clinic located at Samlan Rd., Phra Sing, Chiang Mai.

Nonsense, nothing anti-semitic abpout this ''Macron berates Israeli security men in tussle at Jerusalem church'.
Just as a headline like ''Macron berates Palestinian security men in tussle at Jerusalem church'. would not be anti islam, or ''Macron berates USA security men in tussle at Washington church'.' would not be anti USA or even anti christianity.
That explains it very well and blows away the canned narrative of omnipresent anti-Semitism.

"Baht" is not a gold currency here. It's a measure of weight in the buying and selling of gold.

I haven't heard anything about a new queuing system.
The last time I did my 90 day report all that was required was my passport and the single 90 day report application form. No more photocopies of passport pages.
The whole process seems much easier now than it was at Promenada.

No demand for an ex prince? You think he wouldn't be able to give lectures, speeches, and get handsomely paid for that?
Spot on.
Dishing up dirt on the Royal Family could keep Harry and Meghan in lucrative book deals for the rest of their lives. The well-paid personal appearances would be the icing on the cake.

The queen Elizabeth at 93 and still decides for the whole family for four generations, true that with all the imbeciles of the family she has no choice, and Meghan not will make also a fatal accident but nothing is sure about this dangerous family, the murderous ancestor is not a good guarantee.
What "...murderous ancestor..." are you talking about?
King Henry VIII?
If so, you've got the wrong dynasty.

In Chiang Mai a few months ago it was:
1. Group photo including children if you and your wife have any.
2. Photo of you and your wife outside of house that includes your house number sign.
3. Photo of you and your wife inside your house.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

I'd love to hear the short version of the long story if you're in a sharing mood. For what ailment was the oil prescribed?
PM sent.

Thanks for that evaluation of what looks like the form of cannabis that will be most readily, and legally, available in the near future.
You say you mixed the oil with "homegrown" - maybe you've got some good weed there and the oil doesn't have any psychoactive properties at all. Or possibly heat is necessary to activate it. Using it to make fudge or brownies might have the same effect.
It would be interesting to hear from others who have had experience with the oil from hospitals and clinics.
That's a good suggestion about adding the oil to baked edibles.
The next time my wife makes brownies I'll put in a "secret ingredient" and put them aside for myself and my friends.

1. Most oil is CBD and does not contain THC
2. Government product not yet out but when it is, I think also no THC
Are you sure what you got was THC oil and not CBD oil?
THC is not needed for the intended medical uses
What I got from Maharat Hospital was labeled "Cannabis THC Oil".
But taking it orally as prescribed, the effects were more like CBD oil.
So you may be right... TIT strikes again.

Have any members used the THC oil that is being produced by or for the government?
This has been my recent experience:
I got - it's a long story - a small eyedropper bottle of cannabis THC oil from Maharat Hospital in Chiang Mai for 1000 baht. Rather pricey I thought, but with the hope of some beneficial effects on several legit health problems I have, plus the primal desire to catch a buzz.
I took the prescribed two drops under the tongue. The result was zero in mood elevation.
Next day I doubled it to four drops. Still nothing. After reaching ten at the end of the week I gave up completely.
I prefer not to smoke, but as a last resort I mixed it with some fine-cut homegrown... bonged it, and Bob was my uncle.
It's a low-level, long-lasting sa-by sa-by that brings back memories of a very different Thailand when you could buy ganja almost as easily as you could buy beer.
Everything old is new again.

Unless you brew your own which is what i do in the UK , but out here in Asia ...go teetotal and you will save a small fortune . As well as staying out of potentially dangerous situations . We all know how much the Thais hate foreigners who drink .
You make some good points, but it's not necessary to go teetotal unless you are an alcoholic who can't control yourself.
Just drink moderately, that's all.
Your last line is nonsense. Thais don't "...hate foreigners who drink."
They hate the obnoxious way so many of them act when they drink.

I was stung on the hand by a very small one and was in agony for almost ten minutes afterward.
The pain didn't fully go away for twelve hours.
I see them in all sizes and wonder what the sting of a big one would be like.
As recommended above, get an exterminator and try to find out where they are breeding.

All the best to her family and former employees.
They had a good run.

OP, whatever other advice you may get, come back to this post and take it to heart.
It's spot on.

Excellent advice.
The OP should follow it.

Rather strange, as far as I am aware Thailand did not operate this type only France; Indonesia; West Germany; South Africa and Turkey.
Unable to get any closer to it but looks like it is being beautifully restored as a garden ornament
This is not an old aircraft. Those 6 bladed high efficient props are relatively new.
Maybe they are decorative add-ons.
The rest of the plane looks like a genuine Transall C-160.

You would have to be living in the expat bubble to think that "farang" was a racial insult.
As already pointed out, the word has a long history in this part of the world as a neutral term for Europeans and people of European descent.
If the word was offensive then surely sometime within the last 600 years that aspect of it would have been commented on by Thais themselves or the visitors to this country who have written extensively about the manners and customs of the Thai people.
So many posters on this forum come across as querulous and nasty. They seem to take pleasure in confrontations with Thais. Just look at the level of Thai-bashing and the number of "likes" these misfits get.

Lack of freedom in my own country.
Just one example: In the New York metropolitan area you aren't allowed by law to make repairs to the outside of your own home. The work has to be done by a licensed contractor at grossly inflated prices.
In Thailand I've built several additions to the houses my family and I have lived in over the years and never needed so much as a permit from the local authorities.
Some might argue that situation results in a lot of substandard work and that would be hard to gainsay; although not in my case because I've had a lifetime of experience in the building trades.
Nevertheless, even with all its hassles and dangers, I'll take Thailand over the USA anytime.

Thai Son won't let Mom hug him after 5 years not seeing her. Is this normal for a Thai adult?

That's been my experience exactly with my wife's extended Thai family.
There is no lack of affection among them, they just don't express it the way we do.
Hugs and kisses are for departures and arrivals, weddings and funerals.
Your last question may have hit the proverbial nail on the head.
