Are there quality limitations on the grog to be drunk (malt whisky?)
or some sort of recycled iridescent beer that has been caught from the slop tray and re-barrelled and glows green under UV lights (like every other all-u-can-drink offer in Bkk!)
Its draft Heiny, bourbon, whiskey, gin, vodka, wine.
Check out the website. One of the nicest looking venues in BKK. And no slops. Very upmarket. Trying to crack a difficult market here. Give 'em a try. If you don't like don't have to go back.

Probably get locked too. Which not knowing whats going on in the background is probably fair enough.
I loved those threads though.
I'm sure admin and moderators have everybodies best interests at heart.

If I mention the word this tread might get lost too. Try doing a search on volunteer whatchits and see what happens. I hope that makes more sense dave.

It was a special for TV for that night only. Normally 500 from 9 to midnight.
Now its 500 from 7pm until midnight. Every Friday and Saturday night.

What is wrong with DJ Nakadia ?...looks ok to me. Maybe her skin is too dark for you guys.
Other than the headphones and fleece, looks like she's just come out of the field.
Actually, I think she is rather hot. Being a promoter, if she can really play she'd be a good crowd puller. Meaning she would attract a crowd.

what a boring thread yawn.
No-one forced to to read it.
Its like when people complain that there is cr*p on the T.V. or that the music on the radio is sh*t. Turn it Off. Do something else.
Go read the light buld thread. More your style.

You can try FLIX, RCA or also Liquid Lounge near Silom road. Both play Tech house.
I have two points of view on the topic. One from being a club and hotel owner in Adelaide and the other being a very good dj. I banned myself playing in my own club because it was not the direction that I wanted to go.
Techno music or rave = small market share
commercial music = big market share. Mwah ha ha ha. Thats how I made money.
I also made money by putting on Raves and club nights in venues that were suited to that style.
I love playing my music but it really has to be in the right environment. God forbid for example them playing it at say Gullies. That would kill the crowd.

I have seen it happen and it does get frustrating.
Perhaps those here with their girlies are worried some one is gonna take them away. LOL
There could still be a language barrier. Not all farangs can speak English. Waits for comment.
I try to say hi. In fact I tried to organise a get together and half the comments were time wasting or boring.
I believe to a certain extent we should stick together. We can help each other out. In fact I think we could do alot more if we did stick together.
Perhaps, if all of us on TV could just keep smiling at farangs we might get to meet each other because if our smile was returned you'd almost know it was another TV. Kinda like a secret handshake.
My 2baht anyway.

How many internet forum members does it take to change a light bulb?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to move it to the Lighting section
2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, just to add "Me too"
5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again

Is Central City Bangna too far?
Try any major hotel. Bring a change of clothes and towell in your briefcase. Dress professionally and act like you know where you're going. Change in bathroom by the pool. Works 95% of the time.
LOL. I'd been thinking about that and thought it might just work being farang an all.
So, you have experience.

True it would be handy let me know if you find a list or anything similar like your countries and capitals thing.
It's amazing the things they expect you to know because you're an English teacher.
Yeah "ENGLISH TEACHER" being the operative words.
Happy to send you Country list if you want and if I find anything else like that. I'll let ya know.

Just have to wonder if Taksin owns all the cigarette case companies.

However, on taxis. Just last week I needed to get a taxi to Kao San Road. As normal practice standing on the side of road a taxi pulls up (Like they always do whether needed or not). I tell him where I want to go and he goes "No Sorry for Thais Only" I think wat the F@$#. Get out next cab, tell him again. Turns on meter then turns around and says 200Baht. No thanx buddy. Tee Nee.
Once my wife was with me and in Thai the driver complained that we didn't have the balls to pay his extortion fee. Again we got out.
LOL.
Have also had some great drivers.
Anyway, getting to Kao San Road that day by Skytrain and then river boat total 18baht.
Just my experience. Always a gamble but can be fun and a good adventure. Use the river boats more often now. But have even been overcharged on them.
Oh well, It is the land of Corruption.
Where did you get a taxi from? Seems very strange a taxi not wanting to go there. Coming from there I would understand. Only for Thais?????? maybe he didn't understand you. You must get the tones right.
Didn't know English to be Tonal language. Showed him addy written in Thai by my wife. Tried to get it from Surasak.
So you got the BTS to Saphan Taksin for 10 baht, then 8 baht on the river boat to Banglamphu?
I took the river boats for about 2 years every day and was never overpriced.
Using the canal boats has been very convenient in the past too, especially to that part of the city.
Got charged 18baht on return. DIdn't want to make issue as its still cheaper than taxi. Not a cheap Charlie just easier and rather pleasant.

Two nuns were sitting in the bath. When one said to the other. "Wear's the soap"
The other replied "It does doesn't it"

Today Interior Minister Chidchai Vanasatidya said that orders would be issued for the Songkran period, warning that the drought situation would worsen if revellers used water with their usual abandon.
A clampdown on throwing water at Songkran?
We all know that the drought situation is pretty bad, but I wonder how achievable he thinks that is...
Laughable really.
Your not wrong. Just down the road from my place near Surasak BTS is a market that has sprinklers set up on the roof. And they were on on day sunday watering the roof??? Maybe to keep it cool. But seeing its closed on Sunday and only about 5 workers in it. Go figure.

Cheers for the info.
Yes, I tried to explain to my wife the lemon lime story. Gave up in the end. Even should her in a shop the difference.
Just a bit of a materiel collector. Like all countries and capitals etc. Just handy to have. Thats all.
Thanx again.

Given up on Tuk Tuks always more expensive than taxis and not the sort of air-conditioning I like.

500bht Men / 100bht Women All You Can Drink
in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Posted
How much??
My wife is happy she doesn't have to pay 500bht as she doesn't drink that much. Think most men drink more than women thats why the price difference. In fact it was same price for both at first but got a lot of complaints about being to expensive for females. Now on that I have some very good friends who are females who can drink me under the table. Not a sinister blot. Its a very chic bar, not one that is a gogo bar. Seeing your in Honkers you want be able to give it an honest opinion. Your entitled to your opinion none the less. Remember this is Thailand and it is a promo to get peeps to check it out. So, I think you'll find most people will make up their own minds and that is perfectly fine by me.
