  1. A sad sad sad day indeed.

Be it the French :-) but more likely the Al Qaeda its very sad for London.

It is only a few that can make a whole religion seem farked up.

I do worry about the Muslims in England who will feel the backlash of these attack from these cowards. Same as in Iraq the prob. is not from Iraqs but others coming to their country to do want they think Iraq people should be doing.

My condolences to all people affected.

Me thinks this will only get worse.

    My two 2bht worth.

  2. If the Government helped poorer people get

solar power for there homes this would greatly

reduce consumption. The whole of rural Thailand

    could be self-sufficient.

As it is at the moment solar & wind power is way

out of your average Thais reach

Just out of interest... Does anyone know how many solar panels could supply a small village... it wouldn't be a bad idea... but what's the initial outlay..? I imagine it's quite high.. :o

    totster :D

In some Asian countries like Vietnam they actually have small generators which work from a flowing river. Perhaps they could look at this too.

  3. Maybe I am the only halfway intelligent person responding to this thread or m aybe I have turned Thai but I think shutting down the tv transmitters after midnight is a great idea. Not to stop people from using TV though it might stop some, but think about how transmitters are in Thailand. Just about every province has at least one transmitters and if you figure out how many channels, there easily could be in excess of 500 to 1000 transmitters of tv and radio in Thailand. At 50kw per pop, that could save 50megawatts per hour of blackout. Not to mention there is much more use of power than just the trnasmitters, air con to cool, faciltiies that need to be manned. Get the idea? 250megawatts per day of saved energy for shutting down 5 hours. Maybe my figures are off, but not that much. Don't knock the government, shutting down the tv and radio trnasmitters is a good idea.

Yeah but that is very much an unfair policy. What about shift workers etc. Not everyone works regular hours. I understand the principal BUT why not shut it off during the day when people are at work.

  4. And also the price of fuel in the U.K. 86p a litre. Gee Imagine if the Thai price was in line with that. Then people might not drive as much.

Why not finish the bl00dy subway and skytrain lines.

Whats gonna happen when all these other condos are built and that new shopping centre at Siam with the fish tank.

Also at my school they are required to turn off lights after lessons. Now, correct me if I'm wrong doesn't it cost alot to reboot them. everytime.

As for the T.V. thats just plain stupid I mean think about the sudden drain when they are all turned back on again.

Surely, all these knee juerk reactions make Thailand look stup1d to the international community.

I can see the cartoon now with Thaksin standing over Thailand with a light switch.

WELCOME TO THAILAND OPENING HOURS 6AM until MIDNGHT but also closed from 7-12 and 2-5.

  6. Well, no doubt flames will come.

I found it funny and somewhat true. However, I do dj and have done for some 10years. Not fulltime more a passion. Never in it for the money except when I was a promoter. It is an art form on vinyl. 5hit now you get virtual dj on the 'puter and it will auto mix for you. Arh, progress.

I still dj from time to time. Its a hobby and I love the music I play.

During the 10 years of djing. I owed a club, imported internattie djs, put on some huge raves in Oz and owned a hotel.

Each to his own I suppose.

No pointing wasting time trying to convert people who have a hatred towards djs or don't like the genres involved in the dance music scene. I'm no show pony but I play well and the people who like what I play and how I perform (mix) are happy. And they are certainly not a bunch of losers. I also like live bands and love listening to live electonic music.

Oh and I agree with the "You play to the crowd" Thats why you dedicate events, parties, nights, shows etc to a certain crowd. Marketing. I play d'n'b but in my club I played retro because that made me money. But d'n'b is my passion.

  7. They should copy Singapore: perfect, no crime, autocratic, best public transport I have seen. Utopia is boring though...

It does sound like the Masterplan is just another way to squeeze loads of money out of the Government and pass it to all the old cronies who run the construction companies, etc. Don't you get the impression that they keep coming up with these projects just to keep the money rolling into all these big businesses?

Hong Kong public transports pretty good too and it is fairly clean. Couldn't believe how quiet the roads were until I went on the underground.

Fixing footpaths. Thats a joke all they do is cement them and then let people walk on the fresh cement. I wonder if its too late to get this place in World Class Status.

Finish the sky train and extent the subway. Help with traffic. CHarge more to people coming in to BKK by car.

Either knock down the half built building or use the carpark sections and then use the rest for community housing.

Double the price on cigrettes. I smoke but happy to pay more IF the money is used to better the community.

Take a tough stance on cabs.

  9. ok, not wishing to be a pain in the arse here, I pay 400 baht entry and I always drink a bottle of black with mates, do I get a discount of the bottle or what?

ok, dont worry about answering it, just being a pain in the arse. :o

when I got time I will certainly pop down.  I hate places with admission usually though coz so used to not paying it here.

Free mixers with the bottle of black sounds good as long as the black ain't 2000 baht or something for a 75cl.

Thing is. Djs, decor and promo cost money. You are getting some of BKK finest in fact the worlds finest djs. Each bring their own flavour of drum'n'bass. I am in Oz picking up loads of new Australian d'n'b. The specialist has just signed to Andy Cs label. Big ups to the boy. This is something pretty spech and will be week in week out. Hoping to bring some more Internatties over in the near future. Watch out BKK be prepared for the rollin' and Rumblin' BASS sound.

    Nomad

  10. Yeah sorry BKK

I have taken over the marketing section and no longer is it a binge drink place. :o

Its going to transform into a proper club with all new nights and promos.

Wednesday is bedroom dj night. A night for the local talant not playing in BKK a chance to strut their stuff in a club environment.

Some other new nights starting soon too. Including a Techno night.

    Stayed tune.

  12. Satan's music?  :D

How can you even hear modern progressive music sitting in 1954 like that?  :o

    cv

Not sure but I blame Elvis for the lot. Those pelvic thrusts. :D

Actually, I still like KISS, AC/DC, all in all I like all music. I suppose I like fishing and some times I'll take the bait. :D

  13. There is definitely not enough metal in Thailand. Black Sabbath (greatest band ever, at least when Ozzy is singing), Judas Priest, Pantera, Godsmack, early Metallica and early Megadeth, etc.

I couldn't agree more. Instead we have to listen to 'music' that sounds like a Dalek trapped in a biscuit tin being rolled down a steep cliff.

    RIGHT!!!!!

Instead of listening to Modern progressive music. You want to or probably already have blown out your ear drums listening to Satans music. :o

No wonder you have uncontrolable bowel syndrome. :D

  14. Early May or very late April cool with me.

Off to Oz on Saturday for 12 day holiday.

Soiboy ok but closer to Surasak better. Silom road ok I'm in Yannawa.

    Carl

Oh and somewhere with decent beer would be very cool indeed.

    :o
