Did a second online 90 day report on Saturday 9th of July for both my wife and myself and got approval this morning (Monday).
I did the reports on the earliest day possible, even if that day is on the weekend.
I'm using Chrome with the IE-on-Chrome extension on a Mac. Only problem I had was that printing didn't work with this extension.
I openend the confirmation page in Opera I was able to print the slip to put in my passport.

Well that's a new turn of phrase to describe GT4.... "outsourcing". What you might not have considered is whether you go through the front door, as a privateindiviual, or the "back door" method, with GT4, it still takes the same amount of time for the Officer INSIDE Immigration to process the paperwork so nothingis gained in relation to time taken up by Immigration staff. The visa agent next door to immigration at promenada charged me 3000 Baht a few weeks ago. I was satisfied with their service and would use them again. Btw. I'm aware about the rumors the agent is just a front for the immigration office. To be honest if so I can't blame them if I had to run a company so understaffed I would try to outsource as well.
That you choose to go through GT4 at 3,000 b is your perogative, as is not trusting the mail or online for 90 day reporting.
I just got my receipt yesterday for my 90 day mail in,returned in 7 working days.Total cost 37 baht.Sent EMS/back ordinary mail.
I do my 90 day reports online for free.

Last time I tried to buy something from these authorized resellers they had to order it. The online Apple Store delivered faster and was more convenient for me.

I nominate Tony at Yummy Pizza and Nicky at Papa Rock.
Both have consistently good food and great live music.

Today we checked out Hang Dong. Im told this is an area where lots of ferangs live but i cant see any evidence of that - clearly im looking in the wrong places - we just seem to spend most of our time driving around busy highways. We are staying in Hang Dong for a couple nights while we check the area out. Im probably wrong, but there does not seem to be a central area where there are a few bars, restraunts, somewhere to wander around? Everything seems spread out, dotted either side of the main road that takes you into CM. Im not complaing about that, just asking if i have missed something? I expected to find a village center of Hang Dong with a few pubs, restraunts, cafes, maybe bump into a couple of ferangs to have a beer with and chat about CM but as yet we havent found that.
We are going to have another go at Hang Dong tomorow, drive around just checking areas out. Then the day after, off to Mae Rim.
Have a look at the area west of canal road. There are some nice moo bans in this area. Nai Fan 2, Home in Park, Lanna Pinery. Also plenty of nice restaurants to be found here. If you want to bump into a couple of Farangs go tomorrow night to Yummy Pizza on Canal road, live music and most of the time a decent crowd.

I also live in Mae Hia, near Rachapruek garden, and apart from a short one last week during the summer storm on Tuesday we didn't have any power interruptions in months.

The beach isn't to great in Penang and the seawater not suitable to swim in, if I were you I would stay in the city center. BF is about 15/20 km from Georgetown and the coastal road can be very, very busy especially the part from Tanjung Bungah to BF.

There is no obligation/rule to do her own extension depending on age.
She could but she is not forced to.
She can do extension as dependent as last year.
Remains valid as long as you are legally married.
Thanks for the reply and confirming what I already thought.
Somebody in one of the Chiang Mai facebook groups claimed otherwise hence my question here.

When I got mine it was apply in the morning and collect next day after 2PM.

Last year I got my first extension of stay based on retirement in Chiang Mai. My wife, who was at that point 49, got an extension of stay as my dependent.
In the mean time she has turned 50. When we renew our extensions in a few months will she be able to get another extension as my dependent or would she need to apply for her own extension based on retirement?
We would rather have her piggyback on my extension because the later would mean we have to meet 2 times the financial qualification, one for her and one for me.

I second the Riverside. Try checking out Lemongrass Thai Resto too in that area as their Thai dishes are also delicious.
For Thai food, Lemongrass is probably a better bet. They seem to get a lot of Thai custom.
I walked past there a couple times as I'm always on the lookout for good places around the Night Bazar. (a surprisingly challenging area for Thai restaurants actually) It tends to be full with backpackery types, probably there because of the TripAdvisor ranking which is very high.
But the place is cramped, hot (no aircon) and not particularly cheap. I just can't see going for a nice dinner there when you got spacious nice 'old Chiang Mai' kind of options in the Riverside, with a view and the breeze in your hair.
Don't bother to go there I was lured in by the good tripadvisor reviews and really fail to see what all the fuss is about. The Thai food is mediocre at it's best and atmosphere is indeed hot and crowded.

Something is being lost in translation. Everybody can access their own money and can have on-line access to their accounts! Seriously - you have it all wrong.
Almost - we have an account with Kasikorn that we should close as we no longer use it. Tried several times to get online access but they have refused every time, and I kept thinking that they were making a mistake/I was asking the wrong person but no, we tried small and main branches and the telephone help. The reason given 5, possibly 6 times that we can't get online access is because it is a joint account. I honestly thought it was a mistake in translation. Two people, one account - they all said the same thing. I got annoyed and opened an account at Bangkok Bank (but made sure it was only in one name just in case).
And were you able to obtain online access at Bangkok Bank ?
If so, please share your method with the OP since his was denied:
for whatever reasons BBK Bank doesn't allow me to have online access to my account. I asked before and they declined.
It might have to do with the visa OP was holding when opening the bank account at Bangkok Bank. When I opened an account with them I only had a visa exempt stamp and was told I wasn't eligible for Internet banking, I would need a work permit or Non-O visa for that. After I got a Non-O visa I went back and applied for Internet banking, they made copies of the visa and within a couple of days I had access to Internet banking.

One of Chiang Mai’s most reputable language schools, Easy Study Thai located on the 3rd floor of Pantip Plaza (near the Night Bazar), closes down its operations today.Rumour has it that the popular language school with several hundreds of students was brought down by Immigration: a series of ‘incidents’ with inadequate papers for education visa would have led Immigration to finally revoke the school’s license, sources within the school report.Full story:

Aha. Also the south American Tops chain?
Not anymore Ahold sold the Tops supermarket chain many years ago and is now owned by the Thailand based Central Retail Company. There is only one good supermarket thats Tops, because it's Dutch.
In that case, if it ain't Dutch - it ain't much.
After the accounting scandal in 2003 they were forced to terminate their business in South America and Asia.
In Rimping Kad Farang I saw bitterballen, kroketten And frikandellen btw

I used ATV to get my retirement extension and am happy with their service.
They also do my 90 day reports and I think it's excellent value, I pay 1000 Baht for 4 reports.
Whenever I call them with questions I get up to date information.

Yummy pizza on Canal road has live music on Wednesday nights, always a good crowd and entertaining, and Papa Rock (opposite Big C Mae Hia) on Thursday night and Sunday afternoon.

Same here in Chiang Mai, have been looking for it to give the sink a good scrub. Nowhere to be found.

I would be very interested in the chicken tikka massala.
I had the chicken tikka yesterday, it was nice although would have liked it a bit more spicy. It was a lot better than the frozen Indian curries they sell at Rimping.

What the article in the above link doesn't mention is that the guy has an earlier conviction for killing and cutting up his wife.
In that light I'm surprised they let him off with such a low sentence. He clearly a nut case and shouldn't be out on the streets.
