  1. "Sleight-of-hand and curtain politics is what it's always been about." Oh Bull's <deleted>. Tell me again how many violent coups have taken place since 1932. Take a good look and you'll see that there is the Military and there are political factions including the Thaksin Clan all jockeying for power. That's it in a nutshell. The various branches of the RTA use deadly force at the slightest provocation by protesters and they do it often. That's not "Sleight-of-hand..." that's an iron fist that is usually kept in a velvet glove.
  2. CM Immigration closed Oct. 22nd according to several signs I saw yesterday while doing my annual extension.
  3. The answer to the OP's question is obvious: because they have done it all their lives just as their ancestors have done it in this part of the world since time out of mind. As kids growing up in a semi-rural area we played on the floor a lot. Even when older... board games and such. The floor, if it is made to be inviting with oriental rugs or even a bamboo mat is a good place to do many things. Why more people in the West don't use it more often is probably due to the Faranglander's barbaric habit of wearing their shoes inside the house.
  4. Most dictionaries would give him the traditional definition of the word '"slave." The modern woke usage is much wider. Like the NBA player a few years ago who had recently signed an 11 million dollar contract and responded by shouting "They's treatin' us like slaves."
