In a pool hall, we'll aim for about 55% rel humidity. Start going below 50% and it pulls too much water out of the pool, makes people feel rough and overburdens the equipment. The hot, compressed gas coming out the compressor for the drying process exacerbates the above issue.

Load of old tosh. I have never raised by hand to a woman, and would never do so unless one was coming at me with a bottle. That some farangs may attack women here is not the norm, but it is always blown up by the press because they lap it up. Your Thai guys are misinformed or telling porkies, because Thai males are renowned for slapping up their women. They might not do it so much when they are in farangland, because that is a totally different kettle of fish. The types of Thai males that make it overseas are generally monied and educated; well to do middle class and up, while the average Somchai Blogs stays here. Whereas the type of farang that comes here is often down the low end of the social spectrum, and can be antisocial. You see it time and again; the farangs here (despite there being good ones) are typically not indicative of the average farang in the West.

Yep, it'll dry you out too much and you'll wake up with a mouth tasting like a ferret slept in it. Only ever have my aircon set to 29, 28 at the lowest, which is enough to get the humidity down to around 55-60% and zap excessive heat. The actual temp coming out of the thing is super-low.

I hate driving in Thailand....
Barring the immense traffic nowadays, commuting and the obvious bizarre shenanigans that one routinely witnesses on Thai roads, I generally enjoy driving here. Have done many road trips over the years (bikes and cars) and greatly enjoy it when compared with the angst and utter boredom of driving back home in the 21st century.

PM Given 139 Million Baht In Funding For World Tours In Fiscal 2024

THE GLOBETROTTING PRIME MINISTER Srettha Thavisin has been given a sum of 139 million baht in government funding at his disposal with which he may travel the world over for the current fiscal year, according to a government official.
The 139 million baht in funding was primarily earmarked for planned expenditure of the Pheu Thai-backed prime minister’s official trips overseas throughout fiscal 2024 for reported purposes of propagating and promoting Thailand’s potentials in international trade, investment and tourism.
Of that total, an estimated 68 million baht in funding for the real estate mogul-turned-prime minister’s official world tours has been contributed by the Board of Investment, an agency attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, said the official attached to Government House who only spoke on condition of anonymity.

Did Emmanuel not do the honour of mentioning that he still had his bath towel wrapped around his neck?

Is this the same guy who was humping a motorcycle seat, months ago?
A Thai guy was caught touching up my bike seat a while back in full view of the restaurant proprietor and customers. He actually worked there and had been on the yaba by all accounts and didn’t know what he was doing. They called his brother to take him away. Poor fella. -
China just keeps on giving to the world, hey! Where would mankind (sorry, Justin, peoplekind) be without them!
Saying that, the Thais are not squeaky clean with their pesticide use either.

Some math:
Each anticipated European tourist would have to spend 10,500 EUROS once they are in Thailand to generate that income for Thailand. That includes the children.
That won't last long. Beer is really expensive here now, even for kids.

Removing everything they have in their bank account and gifting a minimum prison sentence of 20 years will send a stern message. Burning is the number one blight on Thailand, and the world for that matter. Burners and arsonists are selfish a-holes!

Pattaya is by far the worst place in Thailand.
It is even worse than Phuket.

Agree, Bob. I went there for the last time around 2022/23. Never again. It was a laugh as a young un for a couple nights, but to live there? each to their own and there are nice areas around and about, for sure, and some very nice moobahns etc. But Pattaya proper (i.e. the beach etc) is a proper S hole.

Hey Gamma, sorry didn't read all replies but I love Pattaya too because it keeps you reprobates from spoiling the other part of Thailand that matters. 😂

Nipa Nirannoot, the Thai consul-general in Dubai, said many Thai women have been lured to work in massage parlours, but end up being forced into prostitution.
Lured? 😂
Does this silly little girl know what that word means? Many of them ladies know full well what it is all about. Big money does not come about from kneading worn muscles.

300?! I hope they chuck in a pretty for that! I’d go 100 but it’d have to be direct. None of this up and down twice lark. That is akin to a long road trip and changing gears all day. Go auto and go direct every time. Emrats is of course good, bar the shopping mall visit, but I’d go EVA biz.

Why go all the way to meet your best buddy when you’re in his house every 5 minutes?
-
People have to get used to the Shin in Thai politics. They are here to stay, but at least this one is quite pretty. Certainly a step up from that general bloke.

The country’s health minister blah blah? Don’t make me laugh. The cannabis industry here has been a resounding success. There are not mass casualties or extra drunkenness on the roads, are there? The country has not regressed to third world status, has it? It has given the average Joe massive release from pain and anxiety. I have not indulged for months, but it is nice to have the choice without being hamstrung by governmental bs. This crap now has dinosaur written all over it. Lay off, you sad demented old men. Don’t do it if you don’t like it but stop pushing your bs view on others. These a-holes would have it like my own pathetic country if they could.

She is lazy and you are enabling her. Did you guys (dudes on TV who struggle with women) not have relations with the fairer sex before you came out here?

What a donkey. Perhaps smiling donkey’s mate? Embrace it, old dude. Why would these airports be on such a list? It would hardly be vindictive. We are not allowed to do stuff like that in the west anymore. Perhaps, shock horror, those airports really are poor? These things are based on criteria like average queue length (lol), immigration effectiveness (lol), facilities (mmm), duty free (lol), gates & buses (lol) etc etc. Don Mueang is ancient and Suvarnabhumi was always unfinished. Neither is a hub and neither is fantastical.

Some of these vip buses charge 700 or 800 baht and take 10 to 12 hours versus 1200 baht for a plane ticket.
That’s a short hop. Try booking say Hat Yai to Chiang Mai near a holiday. Could be 5 or 6 grand. Relatively speaking, that is a lot and the airlines rake it in. They know what they’re doing.

Folks feeling there’s a conspiracy against farangs because of the spotlight on cases like this need their head read. We’ll all probably be looked on in a lesser light because of the actions of a few, but first and foremost what this nutcase has done is cowardly and disgusting. Let the prick consider his actions (hitting defenceless women is the lowest of the low) in a nice Thai prison for a few years, then send him right back to his home country along with a permanent Thai blacklist.

Exactly! It’s only governments and the proper rich that take real issue with it. Has continued economic expansion helped us over the last few years? Everything is more expensive, and life in general has only gotten harder for everybody but the rich. Peoples the world over should be aiming for half their population and China and India should get the ball rolling. 😉
Regards Thailand’s pop halving in a few decades, I’m sure smiling donkey’s brothers will make up the shortfall when they eventually invade.

Change up where you live. If Pattaya, I could understand why. Nothing like going ‘home’ for a couple months to put things in perspective. After living here, you will not handle the staid, overbearing left-leaning lifestyle.

NZ is a Western nation and if there was a full-on exchange of strategic warheads it would not be spared, since Putin/Xi despise everything West and would want all main infrastructure gone. Only way you'd survive is if you're well out of the way in somewhere like Oz and are self-sufficient. You would then need to fight off your fellow countrymen because it would be pretty much dog eat dog. Just as well hole up here, but I'm with Charlie... pick yourself a good spot on a hill with a beer near a major city and watch them suckers come in!
