  1. H/W showers, aircon and ancient fridges set on high use most juice. This time of year is a killer for AC, esp in Bkk. Even if you set it to 30-29, it’ll be working hard and will use up a lot if the compressor’s an old thing. Most condos will charge their own rate, prob 8 baht/unit and up. Nowt you can do about that. Consider moving to a condo that sees shade most of the day.

I don't think the Op was 'getting off'. Even leaning that way many guys won't risk that on a taxi motorbike. It's also difficult to do one handed while holding on to the back of the bike, though I guess it's possible to do without the driver seeing you as long as you are not bouncing around too much.

Well if he got off, came off and dropped his goods then he might have an issue. 😋

Sorry, op, but a bit of clarification needed.

A simple "not like" emoji (thumbs down) would forestall a lot of invective.

They used to have that (or + and -), but it got abused by the stalkers among us and caused regular flareups.

Nothing ever gets as pathetic or idiotic as that twit posts!

GG? He used to do my head in too, but on occasion has something interesting/amusing to say. Harmless and likely a bit lonely.

Note - my comments are not about the moderation of this forum.

AseanNow, or Thaivisa as it was originally known, is decades old.  I joined the forum at the start of 2002, more than 22 years ago. Over the years I have seen the original forum grow and develop, then recede and decline and wither until it is just a shadow of it's former self.  Perhaps we should ask why that has happened.

    IMHO, there are 2 reasons:

    - The growth of social media means that web-based forums are 'old hat'.  Now it's mostly mobile-based apps, and this forum ease-of-use is 'appalling' when one tries to use it on a mobile device. I know - I've tried!

    - The number of trolls, sub-intellect and mentally-ill forum members seems to have increased exponentially since the 'good old days'. They take away the enjoyment of this forum.

    Apart from that, it's wonderful...

Definitely number 1. Social media has drawn folks away from slow online fora like this... it is old hat now and seems to be a field for boomers to vent. Although TV was streets ahead of this current iteration, it is still relevant. Thaiger ain't a big deal and the op is being typically sensationalist, as 'he' does.

  5. I get weirded out even thinking about going with a lady under 25ish and I'm not super-old. Just don't seem right, and what would you talk about? Each to their own though.

Never forget travelling through an Asian airport many moons ago and remarking how pretty and pleasant the 'granddaughter' of this older Japanese guy was. My friend was like, 'that's not his granddaughter, dude!' lol

But, yes, 15 (if you're around that age), otherwise 18.

I read that Steven Seagal and the head of a motorcycle gang were at Putin's inauguration...

That says it all for me.......🥴

Seagull 😋 has been his mate for years. You see, they are 'hard' men, easily able to toss paid actors into the air when they put on one of their staged 'fights'.

Putin, a wonderful leader in peace and war and brilliant statesman. He leaves all Western leaders in the dust. Bidet, Scholz, Moroni, Macaroni, Riski (God help him). One senses that the war is going his way as well.

Oh aye, he's an absolute diamond. Bent as a nine-bob note. The mothers that have seen their sons slaughtered in his pointless, little-man-syndrome war are especially endeared to him. Only types that praise him are those in his pocket, Russian nationalists, dopey westerners alienated from their own country, trolls, and fruitloops. I'm sure you'll still be drooling over him when he lobs a tactical on your family.

  8. All for progress, but this thing is pretty intrusive and in the wrong place if you're on a smaller phone. Personally don't need it, since I can get to the top of the page natively by pressing the top of the screen, while on a Mac a quick swipe and the same. So if it can be disabled that would be great.
