Maybe voting should be linked to pay - you do not vote as required you simply lose that months pay - they'd be standing in front of the voting line every time after that. In all honesty, if Pita gets in the whole voting for anything is going to be chaos anyway, the senators could block any proposition with just 126 opposition MP's. Solution - every party nominates a candidate for PM. Every round one is voted out. Last man standing wins. This would mean the opposition (non military appointed senators) having to either vote him in or vote for another military government, thereby getting the wrath if the thai public

Really think that if the TAT were serious on tourism they would be investigating why flights are too expensive and putting of tourism. Few quid of a room a night when the flights are up £400 does not cut it

Appointed senators just doing what the appointed senators were appointed to do - sew chaos in democracy and pave the way for the military's return. I actually feel that they are also scared that appointing a government that may then call a vote to boot them out is not in their best interests !

What are the odds on the unelected senators NOT abstaining when they propose a general for the position of PM ? Absolute farce. If they do not abstain for a general then the fix is on

The whole set up means there will never be a new democratic government here in Thailand, you are going to need 376 to win if 750 voters. Take out the 250 disgustingly put in senators and you only need 126 of the opposition to block any candidate. Which basically means a small opposition of say 130 can block any new PM until the next election There should be a vote - first with the 250 senators. No PM then the military appointed are removed from the vote. OR the senators can stay in place but they cannot vote on new PM, but can block his policies (hate it, but its a compromise)

Easy to fix - Get off your bottom and arrest the perps, give any perp of any nationality 48 hours sewer cleaning duty, do it again - a weeks sewer cleaning. 3rd deport foreigners with 5 year ban and put thai youth in army for 5 years. Problem worldwide is the threat never happens - need to hit the youth and the trouble makers hard and use not soft sentences that are infiltrating the world justice system
