Now the mototaxi driver has given his statement to the police, and it's ridiculous beyond belief. He wanted to de-escalate the situation. To do so, he nearly cracked the victim's skull with his helmet and kicked him in the face while he was lying on the ground.
De-escalate my a..s
I hope he not get with 500 Baht away.

From Khao Sod:
According to witness statements and security footage, the British man, identified only as Nicholas, was seen running from Phibunsongkhram Bridge along Pracharat Sai 1 Road toward the 91 Karaoke establishment. When he attempted to enter the venue for unknown reasons, he was stopped by a 29-year-old bouncer named Boonchu.
This confrontation reportedly angered Nicholas, who shouted at the bouncer before backing away and continuing to yell as he headed toward Bang Pho intersection.
Shortly after, a second bouncer, 32-year-old Phurinat, emerged from the establishment and, together with Boonchu, followed Nicholas on a Yamaha Nuovo motorcycle...
It's common for people to get angry and verbally abusive when they're not allowed into a club. Professional bouncers take it easy, and the case is over when the people leave. But why did the two bouncers follow the victim? That's where the story starts to stink for me.

A massiv 250kg safe with Steel and concrete reinforcement, just open with a sledgehammer and crowbar???
Hard to believe.
Your arms and hands are more likely to fall off when you hit such a hard surface with a sledgehammer. That must have made also a lot of noise. This story sounds fishy.

It is not the first time that this guy run amok. Society must be protected from such psychopaths.
"Locals revealed that Den is aggressive when drunk and likes to pick a fight with other people, both Thais and foreign tourists. He had previously threatened others with a stick and a knife."
Note: This post should be moved into the Koh Samui Forum.

What an A-hole. Probably full of drugs. Such crazy guys are a horror in every tourist Spot. He'll probably only pay a 500 baht fine and then the ticking Yaba bomb will run again free around.

What kind of degenerate idiots are these? Brutally attacking an 80 year old man because they need money for motorcycle parts. I hope that harsh penalties will be imposed to achieve a certain level of deterrence. Such cases are the worst publicity Thailand can ever have. Unfortunately, there are too many violent criminals walking around with the IQ of a white bread.

Unfortunately, trees are being totally cut down everywhere for the countless pseudo "villa" projects. Landslides often occur during heavy rain, especially on mountain slopes. Greed eats brains. Nothing is secured after such clear-cutting operations. Then you can often see that the sand is washed onto the roads and many motorcyclists then break their bones. But the builders don't want to take any responsibility.
They leave their sand on the street for weeks/months. They don't have to be liable, so they don't care.

Ok. Let's say they have special flight Promotions, offert in Thai language, which are aimed exclusively at Thai speakers. My Thai wife has already been able to book many such flights. Fact.

"All hospitals". No, just most public hospitals.
Thai Airways flight prices - nonsense!
Massage parlors?? Again, nonsense. Never had a massage anywhere, where I'm paying more than a Thai.
The rest of your post I agree with; sadly, it's true that mostly farang are affected by dual pricing in Thailand. Asian foreigners typically pay the Thai price.
Perhaps they should be more honest and put up signs saying: "Price for Asians" and "price for westerners".
Maybe you do not know.
- Thai airways have special prices for Thais.
- I am talking about Massage Parlours in Huai Kwang. There exist of course a foreigner sur charge.

As a long-nosed foreigner, you pay twice to ten times as much, and not just in national parks.
- All hospitals have special billing tables for foreigners with significantly higher prices.
- Muay Thai stadiums
- Tempels
- Massage Parlors
- Thai airways flight prices
- Museums
- a.s.o.
Being able to take more money from white foreigners (that's where racial profiling begins in practice. Asian foreigners often get the Thai price) is a Thai national sport. Just think of the many taxi drivers and tuk tuk drivers with their scammer methods. Foreigners also pay more for grilled skewers or fruit at some street stalls. With their state-legalized dual-price system, the park operators are laying the foundation for rip-offs in other areas.

Airasia have no costumer service.
If there are problems it is almost impossible to talk to an employee. The Ai chat is garbage. If their “Move” website has been hacked, airasia should kindly compensate its customers. When it comes to compensation or refunds, Airasia has its pockets sewn shut. They are simply betting that customers will give up asserting their claims. The fact that when booking on their Move page, all extras such as insurance and extra luggage are automatically booked, even though you don't want them and you then have to laboriously deselect them, shows their bad company philosophy.

For decades there have been heavy rains, storms and high waves in the area around Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao in November and December. Now that's not that unusual.

Maybe my expectations are too high. I have had a Pink ID card since 20 years (the number of which probably also serves as my tax number) and have always reported the same home address every 3 months since 20 years. If the Thai tax authorities want something from me, they should take the trouble to inform me accordingly. It can't be that hard.

What is that? An advertisement for a tax consulting office? If a tax authority wants something from me, they should write to me with an official letter and send me the forms. As long as nothing comes to me through official channels, I won't do anything. In my case, I already know that I don't have to pay income tax in Thailand. This saves me and the tax office unnecessary time and effort in filling out their forms.
And Why should a pig voluntarily go to the slaughterhouse and ask stupid questions?

- Tier 1: For Thai citizens and citizens of neighboring countries
- Tier 2: For expatriates who are working and paying taxes in Thailand
- Tier 3: For retirees and tourists (the most expensive)
-
While private hospitals can charge up to 10 times more than government hospitals.
What and how much is on a hospital bill in Thailand is a predominantly unregulated market. If you don't have a Thai health insurance (which usually has a cost/service agreement with certain hospitals) you are at the mercy of these hyenas. Unless you are a seriously injured accident victim, you should obtain price comparisons and written cost estimates before seeking medical help. The cost differences can be up to 1000% for an identical medical service. Thai hospital costs are not anymore about the medical ethos, but just about getting the maximum money out of a patient, especially if you are a supposedly rich foreigner.

It's a shame that there is no information about data security and data storage duration in the article. Unfortunately, the sensitive handling of personal data is quite underdeveloped here.

I also wonder how they got their work permits. In Bangkok in the MBK shopping center on the ground floor, almost all of the sellers in the handbag, shoe and clothing stores who sell the counterfeit branded goods are 100% non-Thai. The same applies on the 4th floor with all the little cell phone sellers' shops.

Back in 2009 I accompanied my then accountant to the municipal buildings on Samui in order to obtain a yellow house book and pink card the conversation was in thai my accountant ushered me to the exit door and on leaving the building she informed me I could obtain the documents if I coughed up 25,000 baht I obviously refused as I knew what the actual cost was , which depending on provenance can be between 200 and 500 baht . I no longer live on Samui I have my yellow book and pink card which cost me less than 500 baht . This case could go on for the next 20 years unless a financial settlement can be reached !
Unfortunately, it is common practice in Thailand that many civil servants wanted an extra payment for their services, which goes straight into there own pockets.

The zero dollar tours bring almost no tax revenue for the Thai state nor any relevant sales for the domestic Thai tourism businesses. The trips are booked in China and fully paid there. Hotel rooms, restaurant visits, bus transfers and shopping stops are only booked in Chinese-controlled companies. From an accounting perspective, it is now possible for the service invoices from Chinese-controlled companies to only be issued in the amount of the actual costs, so that no taxable profits arise within Thailand. The profits then remain entirely in China. With this type of mass tourism, Thailand only loses because the infrastructure has to be paid for and a lot of nature get destroyed.
The Thai Tourism Authority must learn that simply increasing the number of visitors does not necessarily lead to higher revenues if all the direct and indirect costs to the Thai ecosystem are taken into account.

Thailand is not even able to organize its state lottery with uniform ticket prices. On the other hand, the serious and responsible operation of a casino under state control is much more complex. I doubt that the profits of a state casino will really benefit the general public. There will be only a few VIPs who like to fill their own pockets.
