  1. https://www.pattayamail.com/news/motorcycle-taxi-driver-strikes-german-tourist-with-helmet-in-pattaya-clash-surrenders-to-police-495412

Now the mototaxi driver has given his statement to the police, and it's ridiculous beyond belief. He wanted to de-escalate the situation. To do so, he nearly cracked the victim's skull with his helmet and kicked him in the face while he was lying on the ground.

    De-escalate my a..s

I hope he not get with 500 Baht away.

  2. From Khao Sod:

According to witness statements and security footage, the British man, identified only as Nicholas, was seen running from Phibunsongkhram Bridge along Pracharat Sai 1 Road toward the 91 Karaoke establishment. When he attempted to enter the venue for unknown reasons, he was stopped by a 29-year-old bouncer named Boonchu.

This confrontation reportedly angered Nicholas, who shouted at the bouncer before backing away and continuing to yell as he headed toward Bang Pho intersection.

Shortly after, a second bouncer, 32-year-old Phurinat, emerged from the establishment and, together with Boonchu, followed Nicholas on a Yamaha Nuovo motorcycle...

It's common for people to get angry and verbally abusive when they're not allowed into a club. Professional bouncers take it easy, and the case is over when the people leave. But why did the two bouncers follow the victim? That's where the story starts to stink for me.

"All hospitals". No, just most public hospitals.

Thai Airways flight prices - nonsense!

Massage parlors?? Again, nonsense. Never had a massage anywhere, where I'm paying more than a Thai.

The rest of your post I agree with; sadly, it's true that mostly farang are affected by dual pricing in Thailand. Asian foreigners typically pay the Thai price.

Perhaps they should be more honest and put up signs saying: "Price for Asians" and "price for westerners".

    Maybe you do not know.

    - Thai airways have special prices for Thais.

    - I am talking about Massage Parlours in Huai Kwang. There exist of course a foreigner sur charge.

  4. As a long-nosed foreigner, you pay twice to ten times as much, and not just in national parks.

    - All hospitals have special billing tables for foreigners with significantly higher prices.

    - Muay Thai stadiums

    - Tempels

    Massage Parlors

    - Thai airways flight prices

    - Museums

    - a.s.o.

Being able to take more money from white foreigners (that's where racial profiling begins in practice. Asian foreigners often get the Thai price) is a Thai national sport. Just think of the many taxi drivers and tuk tuk drivers with their scammer methods. Foreigners also pay more for grilled skewers or fruit at some street stalls. With their state-legalized dual-price system, the park operators are laying the foundation for rip-offs in other areas.

Looks like a scam. If it is really aimed at customers, the personal name should be included first. In other forums there is also discussion about the authenticity of this spam email. Let's see what KBank will publish about it in the next few days.

I hope you're aware of this. Thailand's public hospitals use a three-tier medical charges system based on a patient's visa status:
    • Tier 1: For Thai citizens and citizens of neighboring countries
    • Tier 2: For expatriates who are working and paying taxes in Thailand
    • Tier 3: For retirees and tourists (the most expensive)
    • While private hospitals can charge up to 10 times more than government hospitals.

What and how much is on a hospital bill in Thailand is a predominantly unregulated market. If you don't have a Thai health insurance (which usually has a cost/service agreement with certain hospitals) you are at the mercy of these hyenas. Unless you are a seriously injured accident victim, you should obtain price comparisons and written cost estimates before seeking medical help. The cost differences can be up to 1000% for an identical medical service. Thai hospital costs are not anymore about the medical ethos, but just about getting the maximum money out of a patient, especially if you are a supposedly rich foreigner.

Back in 2009 I accompanied my then accountant to the municipal buildings on Samui in order to obtain a yellow house book and pink card the conversation was in thai my accountant ushered me to the exit door and on leaving the building she informed me I could obtain the documents if I coughed up 25,000 baht  I obviously refused as I knew what the actual cost was , which depending on provenance can be between 200 and 500 baht . I no longer live on Samui I have my yellow book and pink card which cost me less than 500 baht . This case could go on for the next 20 years unless a financial settlement can be reached !

Unfortunately, it is common practice in Thailand that many civil servants wanted an extra payment for their services, which goes straight into there own pockets.
